Holy s**t, a whole season worked around marketing...
well kiddies I wouldn't be surprised if Season 5 is it for the turtles. And here I thought they'd last a lot longer than this.

I knew about the figures months ago, but nothing about the season! And for the record, according to a recent issue of the TMNT comic, Peter and 4Kids are hard at work on Season 6. So I don't think the Turtles are going anywhere.
Cody must be Shadow's kid.

Yes well if the ratings tank becuase people think it's crap it won't matter if they have up to season 12 finished! If it's canceled it's canceled.
That's what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid this is going to be complete s**t, the ratings will drop massively and there goes the show thanks to them wanting some little marketing ploy.

well, it sounds like it could be good. 99 years into the future could be a good new storyline...but it might be weird having an entire season that's like out of the norm (but on the other hand i guess the writers have done all they can here in the present time with the turtles and foes and stuff. i mean what else haven't we seen?). but still, it's weird to wonder what the hell happened during those 99 years....but i guess they'll tell us. *shrugs*
the dark turtles could be good. and i'm glad rat king is back! ...but if rat king is still alive after 99 more years, is he really a human? ninja *wonders if the turtles will look aged* *wonders what future splinter could possibly look like* and what will be of casey and april? will they not be around in season 5 (sans maybe the beginning and end of the season, plus maybe a flashback or two)? well i guess cody will take casey's spot.
oh yeah...anybody know who Serling is? ninja
well, i'm not worried about TMNT be cancelled after that season. the truth is, it's a saturday morning cartoon and kids will stay and watch (assuming they're not playing video games or on the internet...but even if they are, the ratings should still stay good since the other channels with saturday morning cartoons will have the same demographic). the only way TMNT might lose ratings (IMO) is if FOX keeps moving the time around in which they air it
anyway, i guess i'm looking forward to the possibilities. long live TMNT! mrgreen

I had a new thought as I was coming back from the microwave. I'm one of those few people who actually like the third movie. I realize it's far-fetched, it's bad and it's cheesy but I love it. So what they hey, I'm going to go into Season 5 viewing it as the TMNT 3 of the series. xD
That doesn't stop me from worrying about the merchandising and cancelation stuff though.
And Rob, if the Turtles are sent 99 years in the future why would they look aged? And if it's 99 years then Splinter will be long dead unless they pull up an ancestor which is weird given that he'd have to y'know, get his rat freak on for that to happen. I mean I know there's a future Splinter action figure but I'm not sure how that'd work unless he's sent too. In which case he wouldn't have aged either.

Ugh. This is such a bad idea. It won't end the series, because the kids will eat it up. But....for me, this is terrible. As long as it is NOT permanent, and it ends when the season does (maybe before!) then I'll be fine.
Nonetheless, this idea sucks.
And the action figure lineup does not mean they're going to be in the season. I Mean seriously, Nobody? no, that won't be happening.

I think that Season 5 might be good. We'll have to see for sure, but I think it might be interesting to see where they're going with this. After all, even as pessimistic as the episode where Don went to an alternate future was, it was totally awesome.

S-X- Dual Personalities After all, even as pessimistic as the episode where Don went to an alternate future was, it was totally awesome. That was just an episode though. And if they were talking just a few episodes here that'd be one thing, but an entire season? And please don't tell me they're going to keep them there permanently! What about April and Casey? And Gohan, I hope you're right. I'd hate to see the series fail becuase they decided to take a really dumb chance.

Lady Leonardo And Rob, if the Turtles are sent 99 years in the future why would they look aged? i think i was thinking of it as the turtles and new york 99 years into the future...not just new york 99 years in the future. so like the turtles will have lived and done stuff for 99 more years (not sure how long mutant turtles life expectancy is). uh...but if it's just warping the current turtles, then no aging would probably occur whee

I think they're just sending the turtles as is. *L*
And as far as the life expectency goes that's something I've wondered about. But thus far they've aged like normal humans (relatively speaking) so I guess unless they just stop aging they have normal life expectancies? Nooo clue.
Though for Same as it Never Was they aged so yeah, it looks like they follow a human life cycle.

I would like to point out that pessimism really is the best attitude. We're never disappointed, we're always either right or pleasantly surprised. whee
