Early in the morning police sirens rang through the air breaking the peace. Normally police cars weren't darting down the streets at this hour of the day but things over the past months had changed with various strange deaths going on. The first one that had happened the police simply took it as a suicide or some sort of accident. Unfortunately they had never found the person quilty, assuming of course that their suicide theory was wrong. A few weeks after that death another one came up, and so on. Most deaths seemed to point towards suicide or accidents but some detectives working on the case were beginning to form their own theories, that there was much more behind the deaths. They weren't just deaths, they were assassinations, the work of cold blood killers hired for a purpose. The only problem with the detectives theories was the motive behind it all. They couldn't think of anything, and from what they could see no one the victims had anything in common to lead to a common killer. There was just too many missing puzzle pieces.

This morning they found yet again another dead body, this time a male in his late fourties dressed in a nice Armani suit. The area he was found in was at a park. The cause of death? Bullet to the back of his head. It was more than obvious that this time around this death was a murder. Glancing aroudn the area the main detectives eyes would spot something else unusual, a black rose not to far away from the dead body. Frowning he tried thinking of the meaning for such a thing. Had the man had it before being shot or was it left by the shooter.

Just as he was about to pick it up to look at it the sound of cars arriving in the area suddenly stopped. The detective didnt have to look to know who it was. It was another investigation force the government had. He hated them for he was interrupting all of his recent death investigations, anothe rreason for him to think there was more behind it all. Something about these things didn't sit right. Lifting up his hands the detective and the rest of his crew began to leave the area. “We know scheme already, this investigation will be finished by your squad,” he said in a somewhat sarcastic and annoyed tone. Getting in his car he left the area still wondering what it could be those men were up too. “What are they hiding......”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It was mid afternoon when Seirra wondered the streets in search for a certain location. She had recently moved into the area and was in need of a job like any other person in the world. Fortunately she had gotten an interview and was now heading towards it. Walking down teh streets she kept glancing left to right making sure she wasn't going to miss it, she hated being late. Turning a corner and than another she finally found the place she was looking for. Walking into the club she wasn't surprised to find it empty, after all it wasn't exactly night yet. Clubs usually were busy after it was dark. Shortly after she entered the building the manager came to great her. “Ah you must be Seirra?” Nodding her head she indicated that he was right. “Alright miss follow me.” Nodding again she followed the older man in silence.

Victor yawned as he sat up in his bed, scratching his head as he blinked to clear his vision. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up. Too quickly it seemed; he stumbled before using the wall to keep his balance. Sighing and yawning again, he walked through his apartment, heading for the bathroom. It wasn't an amazing place, a bartender's salary being what it was, but he had an extra bit of income to spruce the place up a bit. He stepped into the shower and nearly fell as he slipped in what appeared to be red paint. No, no it wasn't paint, it was blood. Victor froze and stared down at his feet; why was there blood in his shower?! He simply stared at his feet for a minute before remembering what had happened the night before. He sighed and said, out loud and apparently to himself, "You know, if you bring the bodies back here, it won't take them long to find you." Victor turned on the shower, rinsing the blood off of his feet and the bottom of the shower. When he finished showering, Victor stepped out into the bathroom and yawned again before saying, apparently to himself, "Well it was just this one job. Don't worry, they'll never know he was here. Oh crap, what time is it?" Victor looked at his watch and quickly ran to his bedroom; he was late for work.

He got dressed as quickly as he could, grabbed his keys, left his apartment and sprinted out of the building heading for the club he worked at. He didn't live very far from the club, only a few blocks, so a car wasn't exactly necessary, but at times like these he wished he did have one. He skidded to a stop outside the entrance to the club, quickly walking past the door guard who nodded to him and let him in. He headed straight for the bar hoping his boss didn't see him. He was lucky today, his boss was apparently busy, something about an interview or something. Sighing, Victor nearly hit his head on the bar, but looked up when he heard the door opened. Well, now he knew why his boss was so busy.

In walked a beautiful woman with light green eyes and pink hair. He could understand why the manager didn't quite care about him at that moment. He stared and watched as he led the woman to his office. Victor shook his head to clear it, but it didn't help very much. He closed his eyes and thought, "Damn she is pretty... she must be a singer of some sort." Victor's mind wandered for a bit until he heard a thought in his head that wasn't his own, "Well, as pretty as she is, you know women wouldn't exactly go well with your new life. From what I've seen, they don't react well to assassinations. He sighed and decided to just get to work, being both late and a slacker was a recipe for disaster when his boss was involved.

The interview went well, which pleased Seirra. Although it didn't seem like it she didn't really have the patience to look for jobs all day. She had other things on her mind. Shaking her new bosses hand she left the office with him. The manager sure was in a good mood. "Hey Victor we finally go here our new singer. Her names Seirra." The manger would then continue one speaking in a joking problem. "If her voice doesnt' bring people in her looks will, isn't that right victor?" The man let out a chuckled as Seirra looked semi confused about his words as if trying to decide wither to be offended or amused by his comments. In the end she just smile and shrugged. "We'll just have to wait and see."

Victor nearly cringed when the manage called his name, thinking he was about to get a verbal thrashing for being late. Instead, he was treated to one of the manager's tasteless jokes which he often used when he was in a good mood. Victor sighed and heard a voice in his head, "I swear, if I hear one more of this guy's terrible jokes, he's gonna be our next target." Victor smirked a little to himself and thought, "No argument here. I might actually want to do that myself." As the manager turned and headed back to his office, he left Victor alone with the singer. Victor smiled at her and said, "Sorry about him, he's a bit of an a**. You get used to working for him... sorta... As you probably heard, my name's Victor, and you're... Sierra, right? Nice name. I hope you like working here." He leaned on the counter, finished with what he was doing and knowing the boss couldn't see what he was doing. Victor smiled at Sierra and asked, "Can I get you a drink? First one's on the house, and I'll buy the second if you want." Victor wasn't quite sure why he offered to buy her a drink, it just seemed like the right thing to do. Maybe she would accept, maybe she wouldn't, maybe she'd smack him. Victor wouldn't have minded any of those things for some odd reason.

Seirra relaxed once the manager had left at sat at a seat at the counter. "An a**... he didn't seem much of an a** but than again you don't really ahve the feminine charm on your side," she commented at him in a joking manner. She was aware that her looks got her treatment others didn't get. Nodding as he got her name right she would than his offer for a drink. "Yeah I'll like a drink.... a Martini sounds nice." She said smiling at him as she would wait for him to get her drink ready.

Victor chuckled at her comment, it was true, the manager always did seem to treat the women better than the men. And she was also right about the feminine charm; she had plenty of it. He wouldn't have been surprised to know that she used it to her advantage often. He smiled at her when she said she wanted a martini, and in his mind he thought, with a Scottish accent, "Shaken, not stirred." And quickly set to work preparing it for Sierra. As he did, he heard the voice in his head say, "You watch too many James Bond movies. Although... we would look pretty good in a tuxedo... But that's besides the point, just make the lady the drink." Victor simply smiled in response to this and finished making the martini. She handed it to Sierra and smiled, saying, "Hope you enjoy." He watched her for a moment before realizing he was staring, at which point he shook his head lightly and went back to leaning on the counter.

Taking the martini she drank it slowly as she seemed to be thinking about something, discussing something with an invisible being. Little did she know, Victor had the same kind of situation. Looking back at Victor she noticed he was somewhat staring. Smirking slightly she spoke to him. "Take a picture, it lasts longer" was all she said to him as she placed her empty cup on the counter. Getting up from her seat she headed towards the door. "I'll be back later." Saying nothing else she semi waved as she exited the building without looking back towards Victor.

Putting her hands in her front jeans pockets she turned the corners and headed off. On her way she passed by the park which was closed off due, it seemed a murder had happened, policemen were everywhere. Pausing for a second she stared at the area with an odd look in her eye before resuming on her way to take care of some business.

When Sierra caught him staring, Victor winced, but laughed when she spoke. He was about to reply, but seeing as how she was leaving, he didn't see the point. He sighed and took her glass off the counter. While he was cleaning and making sure everything was in perfect condition, he thought to himself, "Well, she is certainly pretty. I wonder..." He was almost immediately cut off by another voice, "No, you know how relationships can complicate things in our line of work." Victor was about too reply when the manager came down and started talking at him. Victor wasn't quite sure why, but the manager always tried to talk to Victor for some reason. He sighed as he barely listened to the manager drone on about something inane and obnoxious. He simply sighed and went on with his normal day, waiting for the club to open so he could get paid.

Closer to the night time right before the night clubs usually opened a special news report would show up on T.V, reporting the death of the man in the park. His picture showed up on the screen and the announcers commented on it.

"Cause of death was a shot to the back of the head. The type of gun used is still being studied. So far there are no leads on the killer." Fixing the papers in his hand the announcer continued. "A male has been reported missing. Wither this is connected to the murder from this morning officials have not said anything. What they do say though is we have a major killer on our hands. It is best we take care on where we go from now on." The announcer said some more things and than concluded allowing the news to go on to different manners.

Seeing the news the manager stopped talkign and called Victors attention to watch it. "See that? That sort of stuff is goign to make my business go under. With murders going on people are going to be scared to come her during the night...." The manager couldn't care less about who the people missing or murdered were, he didn't knwo them personally, but what he did care about was his business and stuff like this would make it harder. "I hope they get whoever this guy is and get it all over with."

If Victor paid any attention to the news, especially to the image of the man who was murdered, he was bound to recognize him.

Victor wasn't really paying any attention to the news until his boss called his attention to it. He mumbled a reply to his manager but continued staring at the image of the man that had been killed, until the news switched topics. "They killed Mr. X? Now that's just an awful thing to do..." Victor thought to himself. Mr. X, as they liked to call him, was a mid ranking member of the guild, and handled the business aspects of the 'contracts' they were given. Everyone who took a contract had their financials handled by Mr. X at some point, which made him quite important to the guild. Victor sighed and looked away from the TV and down at the glass in front of him. Without Mr. X, there was no money movement for the guild, which meant there was no money gained from assassinations, which meant there wasn't going to be any killing for Victor in the near future. Victor sighed and heard a thought in his head, "Looks like I'm going to be a bit irritable for the next while. Killing people always helps me relax, especially when it increases the amount of money in my bank account." Viktor finished what he was doing and put the glass away, looking around as the rest of the staff scrambled to get the club ready for its opening.

Seirra let out a soft sigh as she held a picture in her hand as she leaned agaisnt a wall. Glancing at the main she took in every detail of her next targets aspects. Her 'boss' had already given him more information and instructions on the matter. They never did anything via paper or phone. It was always done face to face with words, Seirra because of that had to develop a good memory in order to remembering everything she was told. Normally the only piece of paper she was given was a photo to know who her next target would be.

Once the image was burnt into her memory she held the photograph behind her back where it suddenly burst into flames, during into nothing but ash. Glancing at the time she would realize it was time for her to get to work. She wouldn't want to be late on the first night, that was bad for her reputation.

A while later....

Walking into the club again she headed towards the little room which was now hers. It was her own personal space so she could change and get ready for shows. Passing by victor she'd smile softly and nod to him in greeting.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 08, 2011 4:24 pm

Victor smiled and returned the gesture when Sierra walked by, his mind wandering as the club started to open and a few people walked in. Thankfully, no one wanted a drink just yet, and Victor still had a bit of time to relax. He was staring into space when his phone rang and he looked to see who was calling. "Oh great. Now they call." Victor waved to one of the other bartenders who nodded and held down the fort while Victor took the call. Answering the phone, he said, in a voice that wasn't his own, "Member number 343. Authorization code 9963." There was a click on the other side of the phone and a scrambled voice said, "We have another assignment for you. A low level host, he shouldn't be a problem. We have found a replacement for Mr. X, but will need time to indoctrinate him. All money will be held within the office until we can safely transfer it to your account. Check your cell for his photo and other details. Delete the document when you're done viewing it. Good luck." With that, the caller hung up and the line went dead. A message had been sent to Victor's phone. He gave it a good look before deleting the info. Victor had never been very good at remembering faces, but his new friend helped on that front immensely.

Victor took a look around, it didn't seem like it was going to be very busy, but Victor wasn't going to just up and leave to go kill someone, it wasn't good form and his manager would get suspicious. Add to the fact that he really wanted to see how Sierra performed on her first night. For some reason he had a good feeling about her. He walked back behind the bar and immediately got swamped by people asking for drinks, so he set to work. While he worked, he thought to himself, "A replacement for Mr. X huh? That was fast... almost as though they were expecting him ot be dealt with..." Victor chuckled to himself and a voice in his head said, "Something tells me the killing of Mr. X may not have been everything it seems... I know you like James Bond, but how do you feel about detective movies? I think a little investigation is in order. Off the record of course." Victor smiled and handed a drink to an already hammered man and thought, 'Why my dear Watson, I like the way you think! We shall investigate these matters posthaste!" Victor smiled as he watched the crowd shy away from the bar and turn towards the stage, waiting for Sierra to make her first appearance.

Exiting her room Seirra walked onto the small stage, heading over towards the mic with her guitar in hand. She was wearing a long dark red dress, on one of the sides their was a long slit going up past her thigh. The top part of the dress was sleeveless, the skirt part had a few ruffles here and there. The dress flattered her body form perfectly and gave her a sensual look. It was what she was aiming for though, after all she was a club singer, dressing up came with the job but she did have her limits.

bEfore she sang the manager introduced her to the crowd, who clapped and whistled at her, most of the ones who did so were males. than again the majority in the bar were males but there were a few females her and there. There wasn't as many people as Seirra had thought there woudl be but with her performance she planned on changing that.

Smiling at the crowd she waited for them to quiet down before she began strumming he acustic guitar. Shortly after she began playing her voice followed and she sang the whole song perfectly. Her voice rang through the room. She sang as if no one was in the room with a voice beyond description. Seirra didn't care if people were listening or not, it didn't matter to her. Singing was simply something she had always loved to do since she was little, it was how she forgot everything.
