She awoke again in as the moon hung low in the sky and stars were still scattered about. Sweat had dampened her body as her head still reeled with images of various things, she had a horrible dream Fin had cubs and they all grew up and then she left. She didn't just leave, no she left the pride definitely with no plans to come back, what a horrible nightmare it was. Ever since she was cub, Delila didn't know anyone else next to her other than the familiar brown and white lioness who despite her gruff like attitude always seemed to care for her. As a cub she would allow her to go once in a while to the border of the pride lands and if she couldn't go she would bring her back a flower something bright with unusual colors. However, if she left how would she be able to do that? How could she just leave her there with everyone else, it wasn't as if Delila really knew anyone else to confide in? There were her siblings, her mother, but they weren't what she considered close friends and she barely knew the names or anyone else in the pride.
Shaking her head the lioness flattened her ears, all of these stupid dreams of hers, it wasn't a gift like others had said it was a curse. What good was it to see what was to come if you didn't like it? What use would it be if you knew someone was going to die but you don't know when or were? True she could at least try to do whatever she could to persuade Fin not to leave but it didn't mean she could stop it. If Fin wanted to leave Delila was sure that she would at any means even if that meant sneaking away when no one knew that she had done so. As the thought crossed her mind the sudden realization that there was a chance that she had already left swept across her mind. True she hadn't had cubs yet however it wasn't like all visions were completely correct right?
Quickly, ignoring the creeping fog that seemed to blanket the cool outside world ado swiftly made her way to the den she was familiar with, her eyes desperately searching for the familiar shape of the lioness but it was empty. Her heart leapt into her throat she was gone, she was gone without a goodbye.
She loved going out to the borderlands late at night, especially when the moon was round and full and the stars seemed like small scattering of fireflies dancing along the surface of a glass like pond. Despite most assumptions the night was always filled with noises, and in her own opinion was more so than the day. The soft hum of the insects lingered as other beast called out to one another. She almost hated having to return home, it wasn't that home wasn't great it was just that sleeping during the day and living in the night seemed more so appealing. However, she had to go and she had to sleep, Fin replied to her own mind begging to stay out. At sunrise Delila had the habit of always waking the lioness up and despite all protest the brown lioness would reply Delila wouldn't give up. A frown began to etch is way across the lioness's lips, she was far to dependent on her, not that Fin disliked her she always saw the black lioness as a daughter she just feared that she was far too emotionally attached to her.
Shaking her head, Fin silently headed back to the small cave she called a den, she wouldn't exactly call it a home, it was merely a place where she slept or stayed when need be. A home was place to return to where you wanted to be, from some reason or another. Truthfully not that she didn't dislike the pride she lived in or felt ungrateful for being there it wasn't exactly what she dubbed as a home. She felt more or less obligated to be there, it was somewhere to live safe instead of wondering the rogue lands constantly. Besides, there were always some idle chatter to be able to participate in among the lower ranks like herself. The latest news or gossip always seemed to scatter itself around rather it be a mating of an unusual kind or some deed some cub did. There was also the regular greetings of warmth as well as suspicions of cold fear of the current ruler not that Fin cared. However all of it just wasn't enough to call it home yet to her.
Coming into sight of the caves and pathways where the pride lived, a somewhat familiar shadow like figure presented itself outside of the entrance. The hairs on Fin's back bristled as the lioness flattened her ears letting a low hiss escape from her lips. She didn't have anything to steal considering her den bore little to nothing however if they were looking for her she had the advantage.
Delila's ears perked up as the hiss sounded, her eyes puffy from her tears that she insistently wiped from her cheeks with the back of her paw. Her pink eyes looking for the source of the noise unsure of what she heard, "wwwhoose the.. FIN!" She cried running over to the familiar brown lioness ignoring the fact that she could have gotten her self hurt. "I thought you left! I was so worried! I had this terrible dream that you had cubs and you left and without good bye and…" taking a deep breath as she tried to force all of her fears out of her mouth Delila felt as if she was doing nothing more than creating a jumbled mess.
"Leave? I was only out on a night round? Why would I leave?" Fin replied as she stared widely at the lioness. What on earth was she even talking about? Didn't she know better than to just lurk around? She could have ended up hurt if she hadn't cried out. Fin shook her head, "What's gotten into you and why are you still up. You should be asleep."
"I couldn't sleep after the nightmare," Delia responded as she felt slightly hurt that the lioness seemed to have brush all of her concerns to the side. Though maybe she was just being silly maybe she was just having a really bad nightmare and not another vision and that she had done nothing more than overreacted. "I'll head back and sleep, I am truly sorry Fin." She replied giving Fin a warm smile, she was though still happy she was there.
"Night Delila, and I wouldn't leave without saying goodbye." Fin replied as she headed into her den to sleep giving the lioness a smile in return.
