User Image Uziwa was on the road again. Her den had been ransacked recently. Something had come in, went through the things she had collected that made it home, took them and left. Her little trinkets she found, her necklace she made for herself (even if it was only a little hide and a bead), it was all gone. She didn't want to stay there knowing what had happened. It was if someone tore apart her and she hadn't felt that way since she was driven away from her home.

Uziwa heaved a sigh, feeling a little on the heavy side lately. She had been eaten well and was so hungry continuously. Maybe she had finally found her appetite. How strange that this had all happened after she had met that male. Ah well, she though to herself before looking up above and mumbling, "The sky is clear..."

When she looked back down she noticed something off in the distance. It was a black and white lioness and instinctually Uziwa ducked. It seemed the lioness had not seen her or heard her, despite Uziwa talking to herself. Maybe she could sneak off before she saw her.

User Image Aneesia had been trolling the Rogue Lands for food. Any food she could find at the moment. Whether it was rotting carcasses or fresh meat bullied from someone else's mouth, she needed to eat. She was thin, not painfully thin, but it was obvious she was not as well fed as most lionesses were. Her paws hit the ground heavily, alerting everything around her to her presence. She was less than a lion, she was an un-lion.

The story behind those thoughts was long and she hated remembering it at all, but she knew her thoughts were true. How could a lioness who could not hear and who's audible voice was slipping away from her from lack of hearing ever be a real lioness? She couldn't hear the prey around her, or judge her own stealth. She was nothing. She was no one.

"DAHMN IT AHLL." She hissed to herself. Her speech was suffering greatly lately with her lack of interaction. She couldn't recall what some words sounded like outside her head, and some of her word were slurred. Another drawback. Why wouldn't things look up for her?

The lioness had not heard Uziwa and for that she was grateful. She heaved a heavy sigh and went to go on her way, when she heard the other talk and couldn't help but stare at her, head cocked sideways and ears forward. She sounded like she was speaking in a different language. Her words were heavily slurred, as if there were a bunch of rocks in her mouth as she spoke and it sounded so strange.

"Excuse me," Uziwa said, a small squeak in her voice. She made sure to be loud enough so the lioness would hear her and not be startled by her presence later on. She was curious to know why the lioness spoke so oddly. Perhaps she was like Uziwa and had been raised by the two-leggers? It could explain her odd speech.

She sat there for a few moments waiting for the lioness to respond but got none. Was she being ignored? Perhaps the lioness had already knew she was there and decided to simply ignore the gangly looking hyena. She decided to try again, "Excuse me?"

The silence that was Aneesia's world buzzed a little today. Something in her ear drum was off and out of the one she could hear only a little in, she heard nothing but buzzing. It was like there was a bee or a fly next to her ear being annoying. She swatted at her ear in annoyance, rubbing at it with an unhappy expression on her face. She wanted it to stop now, and deep in her throat a growl formed and died in an instant.

Aneesia didn't know Uziwa was there, she should have since she was within scenting range, but being upwind of the hyena and not getting an initial whiff as she approached she didn't bother to think on it any. Sighing, Aneesia began to patter along, following wherever she pleased, unaware of the hyena that would soon be following her for the next hour. If she had known she would have run off the equally skinny looking hyena as she was just another mouth trying to steal her food.

"Augh, my shtomach." She muttered to herself, her lisp more pronounced with the sounds certain consonants made together, "I feel like I shuld be de-ahd."

Still nothing. Either she was purposefully being ignored by this lioness, or the poor thing was as deaf as Uziwa was daft. Either way, it didn't seem that Uziwa was going to give up on getting her attention. Ever since her encounter with Kepo, she had found herself becoming more and more stubborn when she becomes irritated or upset. The fact that lioness was possibly ignoring her on purpose was beginning to irritate Uziwa and he nostrils flared.

"Hello?! Don't you hear me?!" She said loudly, trailing after the white and black lioness as she aimlessly wandered about. How irritating! Lucky for Uziwa, she was following on the bad side of Aneesia's body where her ear drum was completely and utterly blown out. No matter how much Uziwa would yell into that ear, Aneesia would never hear it.

Aneesia kept her pace, completely unaware of the hyena following after her who seemed to grow increasingly agitated at the lioness's silence towards her. It would have been hilarious if Aneesia could actually hear and was purposefully ignoring the gangly hyena, but that wasn't the case and she'd be forever left out of the horribly funny thing she was unawares of doing.

Scanning the horizon, Aneesia noticed a sickly looking gazelle in the distance. It seemed on its last leg and the deaf lioness was certain that despite how loud her footsteps would be when she went after the gazelle that she would be able to catch it and have herself a proper meal for once.

"Easy prey," Aneesia mumbled to herself, feeling the vocal chords in her throat vibrate, but unable to hear her own words. Aneesia stopped abruptly, to try her hand at sneaking up on the gazelle. As she did so, Uziwa went crashing into her, finally alerting Aneesia to her presence.

Uziwa hadn't been expecting the sudden stop by Aneesia. She could practically taste the beating she was about to be delivered when she went crashing straight into the lioness's backside. The blue hyena's hackles raised quickly and she jumped back as the lioness whipped her head around to see who it was that ran into her. Pink eyes pierced through Uziwa and she felt her ears go flat and tail promptly shift underneath her. She was in some deep s**t right now.

"I... uh..." Was all the hyena managed to get out before Aneesia went on the attack, attempting to swipe at her furiously.

Thankfully for Uziwa, Aneesia was not very good at attacking and she managed to dodge the lioness's blows. It wasn't an easy dodge, as Aneesia flailed her clouts around like she was some sort of untrained brawler, but they were inconsistent enough where she could come out unscathed if she was quick about it.

Aneesia was angry. Angry at herself, the world and especially angry at this hyena before her. Somehow the hyena must have figured out Aneesia was deaf, and that was how she managed to follow her without being noticed by the lioness. This was the only explanation in Aneesia's mind that fit the mold of the situation. The hyena knew she was deaf, and was going to take advantage of Aneesia's deaf state to steal a kill from her. She was furious.

Aneesia struck out at the hyena the best should could, but since inevitably being rendered deaf her balance and capabilities were less than what they once were. Some days her balance was so bad she could barely keep gate without swaying like some drunk fool. She felt so incapable on those days.

"SHTAY SHTILL!" Aneeisa hissed, trying her best to hit the hyena, but having some serious difficulty. Her agitation was making her sloppy.

Despite Aneesia's demand for Uziwa to stay still, she continued to move. She wasn't about to let some random, angry looking lioness beat the crap out of her. Uziwa wasn't exactly the bravest hyena, or a stereotypical one for that matter, but she wasn't stupid.

In her effort to get away, Uziwa jumped to the side causing her to trip and fall. She hurriedly scrambled to her feet, but not without feeling a giant paw clout her back hard. It was some intense pain that Uziwa felt, despite Aneesia's sloppy clout. She wanted to buckle and curl up to wait for the attack to be over, but Uziwa knew that doing so would be much worse than attempting to continue getting away.

Letting a growl rumble in her throat, Uziwa kicked out one of her legs hitting Aneesia square in the jaw. It felt good to land a hit on the crazy lioness who turned psycho on her and when she was certain the lioness had recoiled from the blow she made off quickly. While she had made the mistake of following the deaf lioness, the reaction she got for her offense was far beyond what she thought it would be. She knew she would be upset, but she would never turn into a psycho.

Aneesia hadn't been expecting to get the hyena's foot straight to her head, but it was there now and it hurt horribly. She could feel the pain resonating through her eyes and ears causing her to collapse to the ground and cover her head. As if she didn't suffer enough head-trauma in her lifetime. Now she had to worry about her eye sight. That kick was too close for comfort and Aneesia was afraid to open her eyes.

While she worried, Uziwa managed to escape. Aneesia was going to be pissy for the rest of the day once she managed to open her eyes and realize her vision was fine. She'd have a nice big bump on her head to commemorate the occasion, and a growling stomach to remind her of her mistake.
