The winged angeni circled high above the sky, enjoying the freedom her multiple sets of wings offered. The sun was high in the sky, with absolutely no cloud cover to hinder its light. It was a beautiful day, with much of the snow melting on the ground below, and warmer breezes whispering of the promise of spring. It was much warmer here in the plains than it was higher in the mountains, and Kaiya was glad for it. She knew the world hadn't seen the last of the snow yet, but this break in the winter weather was refreshing, and she hoped it might linger.

The glimmer and sparkle of a lake below caught the mares silver and gold gaze. It was a lake, and the waters were sure to be refreshing. Much of the ice had also broken up, and meant access to its water would be easy. The land looked quiet and there didn't seem to be any out and about at the moment. That was just as well for Kaiya, as a little quiet in her life wasn't something she often was graced with. Oh, there had been quiet and simpler times when she had put pause on her work while she cared for her three children, but those reprieves had been necessary. Kaiya believed whole heartedly in saving the damned, but she wasn't a fool enough to bring innocents in to her war. No. Her children had been her focus and life, and still were, but they were all long since grown. Sirian, Terentia, Kahiau - they had their own lives to live and so she had returned to her work and duty.

Circling slowly, it didn't take long for Kaiya to ease her way to the ground. She gave her bandaged wings a stretch, and her tail a little shake, before she picked her way to the edge of the lake. She kept her ears alert, since one never knew whose territory they may have landed upon, but the water was too tempting to ignore. Lowering her head, she drank, listening to the birdsong and enjoying the sunshine upon her back and wings.
