It seemed like the Winter had loomed over the land for eternity. Only in the last few days did it's icy clutch let loose from it's adamant hold, and give way to Sister Spring. Blossoms were beginning to bud, and rise from the grounds and the ends of branches. The sound of song birds returned to the air, filling it with a joyful tune. Indeed, it seemed as if the earth was awakening, and all it's inhabitants giving a greeting to the new dawn, and cycle. For Ferra, it wasn't as much a big deal to her as it might be to other's. She didn't particularly favor any season over the other, but it was nice to have a change of pace. Goodbye mythical icicles, and frozen ponds. At least now she'd be able to feast on more delectable choices of flora. The sopping old grass wasn't much of a treat, but it was substantial, and kept her going through the cold months.
During the arctic season, she'd descended from her adventures along the mountains, and returned to the grounds below. She was all for danger, and pushing one's chances to the limit, but that was more like suicide for a rookie adventurer like herself. And she wasn't dumb. Besides, she'd spent plenty of time up there. It was time to go somewhere new. Some where fresh. As the mare walked leisurely through a barren forest, idly searching for some green's to nibble on, her mind wandered on the idea of starting a new destination. She'd heard of the desert, and it's unforgiving terrain. It really wasn't much different from the tundra, aside from the total opposing temperature difference. Or what of the swamplands. The gooey much that would clump under your hooves, and grip firmly to your coat. The acrid stench of the air, that held a heaviness to it, that made your lungs feel stifled. And the creatures that loomed there, hidden within the confinements of the slime that covered them. Maybe Gale Wind would be up for another adventure. Grinning at this, Ferra dipped her head as she found a patch of fresh green grass, nibbling it tenderly. Her tail swished laxly behind her, eyes closing as well. She appeared completely relaxed, and careless. Though it was her usual look... Always calm, and controlled.

Thinking was something that was becoming more and more of a natural occurrence for Gabriel. He couldn't stop the different thoughts that always seemed to come creeping up into his head. He both hated and loved it at the same time depending on the thought. He was at a stand still. He still didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. He was still at the cross roads with no hope in the end. Would he be able to leave something he loved so much? Maybe that was his problem. His love was directed at something else. Something that shouldn't be loved. Something that probably shouldn't be shown that kind of deep emotion. He didn't know any other kind of love other then family love. He was older and at his age it probably wasn't a good thing.
He looked into the distance unsure of where he should go. What he should do for the day? He just didn't know at all. He didn't know what would be more exciting. He was tired of just wandering trying to find Hania and Adalyn. It was annoying and quite frankly a pain in the a**. It was like finding a needle in a hay stack, but Hania wasn't even his main concern. He wanted to find Adalyn before she made horrible choices. He had gotten word that she was being rather loose with herself and that bothered pretty much everyone in the family. He was the most bothered because it appeared she had no stability in her life. Where was Hania? Was he not paying attention to his twin sister?
Snorting, he looked up as much as he could before seeing a mare. Didn't he know her from somewhere? Didn't he see her before? His mind was so fuzzy with thoughts about life that he was beginning to forget people more and more. He approached slowly and carefully. He didn't want to startle her with his size since from what he could see, he would be looking down at her the entire time.

The grass was so pure and fresh. Brand new to life. It held a subtle sweetness the closer to the roots she grew. It was quite refreshing. It'd been awhile since her palette had been able to feast on such a delicacy. She chuckled to herself faintly, nosing along the tender grasses. Taking a step forward to inspect another patch, her ears twirked at feeling another presence aside from the one's she'd already acknowledged. Bright blue eyes peeking open, she could spy the stallion a few paces away from her. What was he doing just standing there? Smirking to herself, she slowly allowed her neck to lift, braid resting over a shoulder. Chewing a few more times, she looked off, but prompted him, "Enjoying the view...?" she mused, her attention catching to a few unfurling baby leaves on a tree branch. Those would taste good. Plump and full of water too. But she returned her eyes back to Gabriel, giving him a slight grin. It'd been awhile since she'd seen and conversed with the large chap. Didn't really think she'd see him again, to be honest. He was a traveler of a sorts like herself. A male of responsibility so it seemed as well. Besides, she should be working on figuring out her next course of action. Where to travel to next. Would Gale Wind even be up for another adventure? Her old traveling buddy was pretty decent at keeping up with her, but the mountains weren't that treacherous a feat.
Stepping towards the tree with branches sprawled above her, the mare swished her tail lightly. Well... the branch was a bit too high... her already being small as is. Giving a light snuff, she lowered her head again. Ah well, that's what bushes were for. For those of the smaller variety.

Gabriel eyed the female with a slight grin. Something he didn't really show to most unless he knew them. It was just how it was with him and he couldn't explain it. Though with Ferra they went way back and he had respect for the female. Most never seen that side of him either. It just wasn't something he handed out freely like some others did. Was he even enjoying the view? He didn't enjoy anything really except when he was sticking his hoof into someone's hide or even worse. He just enjoyed doing what he was meant to do nothing more. So asking him that kind of question was like asking a wall to talk back to you. It just wasn't going to happen. "No. There isn't any beauty in this land." He shrugged a bit as he rose up from his perch a little bit. He towered over the female no matter what. He always did and now it was even more evident. He walked down to her side grinning still.
"Getting into trouble?" He asked her and if he remembered correctly she always did. He nudged her slightly and wondered if she still had that fiery attitude he always remembered her having.

Not giving much attention towards him, the mare looked along the tree before her, hoping to find a lower branch. Alas, there were none... Her lips turned very slightly in a manner of disappointment, but you could hardly tell on her calm and collected features. Glancing back to the larger than normal stallion, she too offered a grin, and skimmed the land around them. Well... it wasn't the most glamorous of places, but she wasn't talking about the landscape. Any matter, she looked back at the tree, "I think there is.." she replied casually, watching the wind sway the delicate branches above. Feeling the male's presence close, she didn't even need to look over to feel his wall like body shade her from what little sunlight was peeking through heavy clouded sky's. "I'll have to be sure to find you during the hot summer day's.." the mare mused, letting a sly grin and dart of her sharp eyes to Gabriel/ Indeed, she could feel at ease around him, as she did with her few friends that she had. Teasing and playing was only natural in such cases. He was after all her second true friend, outside of her family of course.
A smirk came from the mare at such a question. Well, her kind of trouble was just part of the package being an easily unimpressed female always finding ego-inflated male's. Females as well, actually. "I suppose I have deflated a few ego's recently.." she replied in a nonchalant casual fashion, lightly swishing her tail to graze his leg in return from the nudge. "It's as if they're asking to be shot down.. where it is these individuals find their superior complex... I will never know.." Ferra chuckled with a light shake of her head. Ah yes, her kind of trouble was more so the inability to mesh with the stereotypical common personality's that were littered everywhere she went. Too many typical character's, all the same. With a soft snort, the lax mare glanced up to her towering companion, "What bring's you out here in the first place..? It's not often I'm graced with your presence..." she lightly teased. He was a bit of wanderer like herself. She figured he had better things to do than come to a 'dreary' place like this.

The larger stallion gave a slight huff before looking away from her. He didn't think he was going to be out on a hot summer day. Why should he be out when it's really hot out? He would probably find the coolest spot in the forest or the coolest lake in the area. He did have a lot of hair after all and it would be annoyingly hot when he was out in the sun. He could only imagine the amount of heat he would feel from it. "I don't think I will be out when it's hot. I have a lot of traveling to do and doing that in the heat isn't likely. I will be in the shade or in a lake somewhere." He nodded to her with a stomp of his hoof. He could withstand the heat. He has before, but it wasn't something he liked by far. He probably would never like it.
"Ah I see. So you deflated some overly big heads? That isn't too bad. I myself would probably end up stomping them down so it's good you got to them first. I hate when others have overly large heads and big ego's. Kills my respect for them it does." He said to her and looked at the fleeting horizon. He walked away from her a little bit sighing not sure what he wanted to do at the moment. "I'm looking for the twins Hania Shen and Adalyn. Hania I need to speak with more urgently then his sister because he is a stallion and they are suppose to rise to leaders in the family herd, but Adalyn...well...she is on my s**t list." He said to Ferra simply and with bitterness lining the tone of his voice. "She is doing something us in the family have no respect for. I've gotten word that she is just going to fling herself at a stallion. How could that happen to one of my herd mother's grandchildren?" He gave another agitated snort this time narrowing his eyes and stomping his hoof. "Don't mare's have more respect then that Ferra? Tell me they do or there is no reason for me to maybe settle down with one in the future. Being single would prove more worthy then suffering the fate of having kids with random mare's." He said to her feeling his stomach turn from the anger he felt.

Watching her dear friend with an expression that resembled amusement. He certainly was an intense, and somewhat dramatic fellow, was he not? But not in a bad taste of manner. Simply curious. A soft snort was her response, a grin upturned on her pale lips, "Of course.." she murmured, neck stretching to take a nibble at a few low bushes branches. She thought his giant stature would serve as pleasant shade for herself, but the shielding from faithful tree limbs would work just as effectively. His company was just enjoyable, is all.
Her cupped ears pricked at hearing his heavier hooves retreat from her, brilliant blue eyes peeking over at him from her calm grazing. He seemed rather.. melancholy today. Had something happened? Her head lifted fully, chewing slowly on her moderate amount of leaves in her mouth. Ah the twins... He'd spoken of them before. His family was quite close, and tight knit. It was something she could respect, as her own was quite askew. But as he explained what the other mare was doing, she really wasn't surprised. Most females were like that; loose, easy, and reckless. Thus why she despised... well... disliked them so strongly. Snorting softly, she shook her head subtly, and closed her eyes. His question left her a bit uncertain. How could she answer that? Sighing gently, she begins to step towards him in a lax fashion once her snack was finished. Reaching his side, she looks off as the words mold in her mind properly, "Most mare's don't... honestly. I've yet to meet one who does, other than myself; if it's not too bold for me to say.." she pauses, gelling the next words into place, "you just have to pick carefully.. the one you love, and settle with. Life is not simple, and nor should your partner be... get to know the real them, not what they present to impress or blind you... find their true intentions, and reason for life." tail giving a flick, her eyes remain closed as she continues to mull on this question. She herself found that love would be impossible to find. Lust was simple, as was infatuation, but true love, that was equally matched by it's counter part? That was rare... In a way, she envied Gabriel. He was handsome, strong, and intelligent. Any mare would be proud to call him her mate. Where as the tiny mare beside him was not such a catch. Level-headed, and wise, yes. But that certainly wasn't enough to woo a male; she was quite aware.

Gabriel watched his friend delve deep in thought. He knew that look anywhere and for as long as he could remember she was always thinking things over and analyzing things. It was a quality sometimes he wished he had since he could be a little brash or unsteady. He wished she could find her other half or at least love, even if he didn't believe in such a silly emotion. He knew she was a strong mare that didn't really need it, but companionship was becoming increasingly harder to find especially from others in the area. They only seemed to want one night stands or be too clingy. Something like that was such a turn off. "You are right..but it's never too late to try looking a little more. Plus even if you don't find someone you always have me as a good friend and someone who will always be there for you." He snorted feeling himself getting too mushy for his own good. "Ugh...don't let me continue please...I feel the need to barf approaching."
"I was thinking of possibly forming a herd one day..maybe if your up for it you could join?" He asked her wondering if she would be willing to do such a thing. He would only let those close to him join and no one unreliable would even be allowed past him. He was stern on his wants and ambitions in life. He didn't want any loose ends clouding up his herd.
