The spotted stallion wasn’t moving from the spot he found the other day. It was a nice little alcove in the middle of the forest. Quite homey and roomy for the time being until he had to get up and travel again. He rarely took breaks. It wasn’t part of who he was. He would go days without eating or even drinking sometimes and it was something his body was use to. He actually was both resting and thinking. He was resting for energy, but also because once again he was injured. This time it was gashes on his back. It seemed like he was always getting hurt even though he did come out the victor in pretty much every situation. He snorted looking down at the grass. His thoughts were pretty heavy today for some reason. He was thinking about his life, his family, and more importantly his mother. What did he want to do with life?
Why was he so different with his mask off? Why couldn’t he just be normal? Why did he have to have two persona’s that were completely different from one another. With a mask on he was a monster that destroyed pretty much anything that got in his way. He didn’t care if they were male, female, old, or young. They were just obstacles to him. Then with his mask on he was like a knight in shining armor. Very caring or everyone and everybody. He would never think to hurt a female for any reason. Sadly that side rarely came out and he made it happen that way. It was one of the main reasons him and his mother fought so much.
The only comfort he had was when he would leave the safety of the heard and talk with his kalona buddies. Other then that he was stuck where he was. Endlessly fighting and making sure he kept himself alive.

Ljufa giggled and laughed enjoying company of her childhood friend. They haven't seen each other for few years now so there was much to talk about. Their adventures, nice places they've seen, interesting individuals they have met along the way and of course all those nice stallions that caught their eye. All this wasn't how Edgary imagined fun way to spend a day so he found his nap place on Ljufa's back and roamed dream world full of tasty snacks. Yes Midra was the loudest of them two and the bravest. Ljufa was always bigger than Midra even as a foal but she could remember numerous times when that little foal would stand ground to protect her larger friend. Yes this seemed like any other day for those two. Question was were they ready for the events that were ahead of them.

The large stallion peeked his head of the small cave noticing the clouds getting darker above him and the smell of rain was thick in the air. He didn't know if he wanted to venture out past the cave at the moment. Maybe it was better that he stayed inside it? But he hated resting. He didn't like lazying about, it was one of his biggest pet peeves. The only time he believed in doing that was if it was a mare and they were pregnant. Other then that it wasn't happening with him. It just looked pathetic.
Snorting, his ears perked up to the sound of rustling out there in the forest. This could either be bad or good. Mainly because he was bleeding and he couldn't fight off a bunch of hungry attackers again. It was so hard for him to stand right now and the most he could do is swing his head, but then he might end up breaking his horn off.
He waited and stared through his mask at the darkening woods before shifting his weight to the other side of his body.
"Hello. Is someone out there?"
He called out waiting for either a hungry carnivore or a friendly Soq.

Through all their giggling Ljufa thought she heard someone calling out. Still she wasn't sure so she scanned the area with her ears hoping to maybe hear that voice again. It seemed her friend didn't notice anything because she continued telling her story. And although she wanted to hear end of this interesting story she just had to be sure.
'' Midra... did you hear something just now? ''
Midra was thrown out of balance. Was her story maybe boring that her friend had to find some way to stop her from speaking. But than again she knew Ljufa for too long if she said that she heard something than it might be something in it.
'' Heard something? Well no... ''
Now that they have stopped Midra turned her head in all directions to try and see what her friend might have heard.
'' What did it sound like? ''
At this point Ljufa was sure she imagined this to her self since Midra showed no signs that she heard anything.
'' Well... it seemed like someone was saying something. ''
Was it possible she imagined this to herself. She actually thought to call out this someone she might have heard but she didn't want to look silly in front of her friend.
'' Must have imagined it. Please continue with your story I want to know what he did next. ''
Large smile appeared on Midra's face. She was just coming to juicy part of how she lead pompous stallion by his nose when he tried to swoop her of her feet by his charm. She had a good fun with him.
'' And than he... ''

Gabriel eyed the two females with a slight snort thinking either they were ignoring him or just too into their own little world to care. Neither of it mattered to him because he would honestly rather be left alone then to talk to them. Most of the time he was a bit sexist unless it came to the family so talking with a female was pulling teeth to him.
He continued to watch them wondering if he should say anything to them. Would it have mattered anyway? He felt irritated by it and most of it felt like he was invisible there. But wasn't that what he wanted? He felt his wounds stinging more and more. He needed them to be healed and this would be the last time he would say something. If they continue on their way again he would just let them be. He would just let the cuts scar over. He had enough of those to begin with. A few more wouldn't hurt.
"Are you two going to ignore me or actually help?"
He called out once more since he could see small bits of them through the trees. He flicked his tail behind him in agitation before giving another snort of disapproval.

This time Ljufa was sure she heard someone call out and by the look on her friends face she was sure Midra heard it too. Which means she wasn't imagining things to her self the first time she thought she heard something.
'' Well dear looks like you really did hear something after all. ''
Midra looked in the direction the voice came from but she still couldn't see to whom it belonged from all the vegetation. Sound of the voice gave her impression it was coming from a male and with a tone she didn't like. For some reason she wished to distance her self from that place as fast as she could and the fact she couldn't see this stallion made her wish only stronger. Still she was sure she heard word help in his sentence and she was kind of soquili that couldn't stand by and not try to do everything she could for those in distress. After all she had her friend with her and her horn was really sharp.
'' What do you think should we take a look? ''
Ljufa looked at her little Edgary who was still sleeping on her back. Usually she would trow him in the direction of something she couldn't see but he looked so sweet she couldn't bring her self to wake him up. She gave a small nod to Midra and they went to find owner of disembodied voice with Ljufa leading the way and Midra following her.
'' Could you direct us where you are? We can't seem to be able to see you. ''

The large stallion heard the female making him slump to one side not sure how they didn't see him. He was huge and slumped in a cave not being able to really move.
"I'm over here in a cave. I can continue to hum so that you can follow my voice if you like?"
He told the pair of females as he began to hum. He hadn't really sung or hummed much of anything in awhile. It just wasn't something he really liked doing or wanted to do, but in order for them to find him, he had to. He flicked his tail and remembered when he use to hum. It was a long time ago and it was to his apprentice during the time. He would teach him songs and battle chants which the younger picked up quickly. He was a smart kid, but should have never told him to fight in the one battle. It was a mistake and because of that the younger lost his life. He hadn't made a bad decision like that since, but lost his will to sing or do any of that like he use to.
"Are you coming?"
He called to them and tried to hum some more.

It was when stallion started to hum that Ljufa saw the cave he mentioned. There wasn't too much vegetation hiding it's entrance and in normal circumstances she would have spotted it right away. But today she was with Midra and when those two would meet they would be so occupied with their catching up talks that they cared little about world that surrounded them. So she continued stepping forward slow and carefully with Midra following safely behind her.
Now Ljufa was a sight. Being a heavy draft she was the same size as your average stallion and she could measure her strength with them with no problem. For that reason only she would care little about hot headed stallions that thought their word had to be last. This did put her in some tight situation more than once mostly because stallions would underestimate her. For although she was kind and gentle she was also frightening when mad. So those that were wise pulled back and those that didn't she made sure felt just how heavy her hooves are. Midra on the other hand was elegantly built like any other uni and even though she wasn't pureblooded her healing powers were still strong enough to heal deep cuts. She was cheerful and simple mare that didn't stress her self with anything. Despite the fact that she did have sharp horn Midra was the one that avoided all situations that could result in making her defend herself.
Ljufa was the first to step in front of the stallion and now that she could see him he wasn't so intimidating anymore. She was also the first to see that he was indeed injured. Luckily Midra was here and Ljufa was sure she could do something for the stallion. With a small sigh she smiled.
'' Well you hum nicely. ''
Midra peaked from behind Ljufa to see what was going on way back in front. Seeing that stallion was laying and didn't pose any threat she moved little closer to take a better look. At first glance stallion looked quite majestic. Nicely proportioned with beautifully patterns all over his body. And although his mask did look bit scary he was kind of stallion Midra would not be ashamed to be seen.
'' Oh my. Your a sight. ''
Midra smiled as she examined stallions body. It didn't look to good but she knew that pointing that out wouldn't help in any way. She looked around the cave. It was nice shelter from elements. And although it didn't look as most comfortable place to be she had seen worse.

Gabriel eyed the two as they came into sight and shook his head some. Mare's weren't exactly on his list of favorites, but sadly it was all he kept meeting. It didn't bother him too much as long as they didn't annoy the hell out of him or act all stupid. So seeing two more mare's helping him only made him let out a small sigh.
"Yes..I am a sight...is there anything you can do by any chance?"
He asked them as nicely as he could in the situation he was in. His wounds were hurting so badly and the weather was just horrible for him.
"Can one of you heal?"
He asked tilting his head slightly as he looked to them both a little bit. He flicked his tail hating that he got himself into this kind of situation. Relying on others wasn't something he like to do and he really needed to learn how to heal himself so that he wouldn't get scarred from his battles. When he was younger he was at the herd's healer at least 3 or 4 times a week maybe more depending on how many times he got into a fight. It was his life and he paid the price for it, but sadly it was something he couldn't seem to escape.

Healing was Midra's thing so Ljufa stayed behind at the entrance. Midra approached the stallion with a smile so she could inspect wounds better. She was sure she could ease the pain but she still wasn't sure if she could heal them completely in first try.
'' Don't be so gloomy. You shall be as good as new. ''
After inspecting wounds Midra was pleased with situation. They were not that bad and she could heal them in first try but it will take time. She only hoped there were no broken bones. What surprised her most was that the stallion was unicorn and didn't do the healing him self. She was sure that he would be able to do it in a blink of an eye.
Ljufa saw more than once Midra's healing process and it never stopped to amaze her how well and fast the wounds healed. She caught Midra's look as she finished inspecting her patient.
'' Well what is the diagnose? Will her live? ''
'' Of course he will. It is nothing I can't handle but it will take time. '' turning her eyes towards the stallion she said '' I hope you are in no hurry anywhere. ''
With that said Midra found comfortable place beside the stallion to lay down.
'' Don't mind me. ''
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. If she was to heal she needed to calm down and concentrate on the task ahead.
Looking at Midra Ljufa could have sworn she would use any given situation to get close to a nice looking stallion. Though this time she will forgive her. If Midra says this will take time than it will take a lot of her energy as well. And in that case it is better she isn't standing. Right now Midra looked even smaller beside the stallion than she did beside Ljufa which made Ljufa feel kind of small her self. It was now that she came to same remark as Midra did. This stallion was unicorn so how come he didn't heal him self. Maybe he liked attention?
'' If I may ask, how come you need Midra's help? I thought all unicorns are more than capable to heal. ''

Gabriel eyed the two mares trying to think of something to say that wouldn’t make him sound weak or stupid. Not that is mattered anyway since he was the one injured and requesting their help. He hated doing this and the two mare’s weren’t making anything easy. He didn’t mind being mean to one mare, but two? He didn’t want to be beat up more then he already was because he knew a couple mare’s that wouldn’t mind hurting him if he said the wrong thing.
“I was never taught how to heal. My parents found it useless as I was growing up since everyone in my family was assigned a healer when they became an adult. So whether you were unicorn or not it didn’t matter.”
He nodded to them as he gave a snort and looked away from them.
“So are you going to heal me?”

'' Yes, yes. Now please hold still. ''
Setting her mind on a task before her Midra placed her horn on stallions body being careful not to stab him. After all he has enough wounds without her giving him one more.
'' This will take me some time so don't move until I say you can. ''
Ljufa remembered first time Midra healed her. It wasn't any serious wound but it was first one that was healed by uni, well actually half-uni, and there was a warm feeling before the pain went away.
'' That is too bad to hear. Having a healer is very good but it's not too useful when you don't have him with you. ''

The larger stallion eyed the two mare's a little bit more before looking away. He was in so much pain right now that he couldn't get himself to say anything more to them. He didn't know them and he didn't know if he wanted to know them after this. He felt that at one point he was going to need his own personal healer or there was no way he was going to survive out there. Maybe there was a way to bribe a unicorn to be there for him? He didn't know if it was possible, but there had to be something he could do.
Tilting his head a little, he looked at them both again with a look of bewilderment. He was so damn tired and he was tired of getting injured. It was an endless cycle for him and he didn't know if it was going to get better or worst.
He watched her heal him and felt a slight twinge as he felt like something was being healed. He didn't know how unicorns did that. He was one, but he couldn't even heal a scratch if he wanted to.
"Thank you.."
He managed to mutter out. It was the best he could do right now.

Ljufa nodded to the stallions words and decided not to bother him anymore. After all Midra needed to concentrate if she was to heal him. And stallion didn't give impression of someone who loves to chit chat anyway.
As Midra concentrated on her task the world around her disappeared. This was the time she was most vulnerable because of her unawareness of things around her. In these times she depended on other to protect her from the harm. And she was happy her friend Ljufa was here to take it upon her self to be Midra's guard. As time passed Midra drifted of to her childhood days. She remembered the first time her nana spoke of her healing ability. She just had to try it out but she didn't have any injuries she could heal. That day she found blackberry bush and actually scratched herself just so she could try and heal it. So all happy and eager to give it a try disappointment hit her hard when nothing happened. She tried for hours but her scratches just wouldn't heal and a lot of time would pass before she would successfully heal her first injury. Those old memories made her smile as she was coming back to reality. She managed to heal stallions injuries though not completely. Only remainders of stallions fight were scubs that would soon fall of and new hair would grow back on new pink skin. Fatigued form her heeling efforts Midra spoke softly.
'' I suggest you let scubs fall of by themselves and there will be no permanent scars. ''
She tried to clean her throat as if that would help her speak more clearly.
Ljufa looked at Midra and could see that this healing exhausted Midra more than she would like. But Midra was like that always, she never watched her own health when she was healing someone.
'' Are you ok Midra? ''
Midra always thought her friend was too protective of her. After all she wasn't that fragile.
'' Yes... yes I am. I just need few minutes of rest. ''
She looked at stallions body to assess how successful she was. And what she saw made her satisfied. She was only half unicorn and there were limitations to what she could do.
'' Tell me stallion how do you feel now? ''

Gabriel was relieved she healed him and was feeling better now. He was grateful, but didn't really want to express it to either of them since they bickered about it for the longest time. "I'm feeling better...Thank you for tending to my wounds." He said to her softly as he rose up to his feet feeling like he never was attacked. He stood there with his eyes switching between the two of them wondering if the two of them were friends or family though that option would be strange since neither look alike. "Are you both family or friends?" He managed to ask as he flicked his tail and eyed the end of his mane with annoyance. Now he would have to find a lake to go clean the blood out of his mane. He hated being bloody around other Soq.
His eyes fell on the uni mare once more and sighed. "Rest as long as you need. I understand healing takes a lot out of someone. Have you been healing for a long time because I'm kind of looking for someone to help my healing powers grow stronger. Unless it's something you just have to constantly use from time to time." He said eyeing them both again.
