Personality:
Outwardly, Maaran is a very angry individual. He is tempermental and will attack first, ask questions later. His criminal record is all one needs to know to understand the type of individual he is: three strikes of manslaughter, five strikes of assaulting an officer, nine strikes of aggravated assault. With this record, many would wonder why Maaran became a teacher, or more importantly why anyone let him become a teacher. And quite honestly, people wondering this would be quite right to wonder. Maaran hates children, hates teaching, and would rather sit in a dark room alone then deal with anyone. Overall, Maaran just hates people. In fact, there are very few people or things he likes, and getting on that list is quite a priviledge, as it means you will not have to deal with his fiery rage which so often goes out of control. Most students are afraid of him, as they should be, and Maaran doesn't mind the fact that children are afraid of him. It means that he doesn't have to deal with them as often. In short, for Maaran the less he has to deal with others the better.
Though he may seem angry and tempermental, he is really quite introverted. Too much social interaction only serves to irritate him, another factor which causes people to question his role as a teacher. When Maaran served some time in prison, he rarely went outside, ate, or did anything which would cause him to have to deal with others. His time in jail was even extended as, in one of his rare meals he would attend, he hit a man so hard that his face literally caved in. He's gotten into fights more brawls then he can count on his fingers and toes and overall is a guy who doesn't take any sh*t from you. At the same time, Maaran doesn't pick fights. He sits back, and if a guy irritates him then he smacks them in the face. Then the guy's followers come and the fight escalades and then Maaran ends up locked up again for a spell of time. One of his ultimate pet peeves is cocky people who think that they can defeat him and decide to pick a fight with him. More often than not these are the people who he ends up sending to the emergency room or even killing, as he has in the past.
Despite all this, Maaran is a very good guy on the inside. He is a loyal Hindu, and practices non-violence towards all living things which don't annoy him and aren't Kishin, Kishin eggs, Witches, or the like. Even if people have frowned upon his ways in the past, he truly does care about his beliefs. He doesn't drink alcohol or eat meat, and always remembers to pray. Maaran was born into the Vaishya Varna, though after he killed two classmates and being thrown out of school, he was cast out of the Hindu class system and became an Untouchable. Even so, Maaran still believes in dignity and honor. His name alone means bravery, and when he needs to defend someone he cares about he will do so and he will defend them well. Other than his other problems, Maaran truly has a heart of gold. Very few have been able to see and find his heart, but those who have found out the truly great man he is. Even if at times he prefers to smack someone in the face, he has never drunk a drop of alcohol in his life and has never so much as licked a piece of meat.

__________BIO/ HISTORY_______________________________________
Bio/ History:
Biography Of Birth:
Maaran was born into a proper Hindu family in India on August 19th. His family worshipped Vishnu, and Maaran was immediately taught ahimsa, or non-violence towards all living things. He was not allowed to eat meat, get into fights, or even kill a spider. His family was not fortunate, by any means. Both his parents farmed for a living, and all Maaran was ever taught was to fulfill his Dharma so that in the next life he could move up to the next Varna. For all of his childhood, Maaran would live in India, and no one he knew could have ever expected him to leave home forever, and with him leave the teachings of his childhood.
Biography Of Childhood:
Of course, the last statement was a bit of a lie. Compared to the other children his age, Maaran was troubled. Anyone could see this. From a young age, Maaran began to isolate himself from the other children. His parents were slightly concerned by this; as it was not normal for a young boy such as himself to just sit at home and do nothing. He never attended school, Maaran could not see a purpose in doing so. Yet he was too young to work in the fields, and so he simply sat at home. Literally, sat at home. For hours at a time, Maaran would gaze out the window with a glossy expression in his eyes. Originally, his mother thought that it was him, longing to go out and play with the other children. But it wasn't... It never was. Maaran just always found himself somewhere else. Who knew where else, it changed daily. Some days he would be in America. Some days Europe. Australia. The one thing with his fantasies, his day dreams, was that he was never here, never in the land of his birth. No matter where he was, Maaran was always having some grand adventure, not restricted by tradition or anything of the sort. These were the first nine years of Maaran's life.
One day, when Maaran was ten, his parents came back from the fields to see him sitting by the window as usual. This time, he appeared to be quite engrossed with something. His parents assumed that he was reading or something of the sort, and as such they left him alone. A few hours later, he was still sitting by the window, having not moved at all. Now, his parents were curious and so they looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. They were horrified to find that he was holding a magnifying glass over his hand and he had used a beam of the sun's light to literally burn a hole through his right hand. When his parents made him stop, he replied by saying simply that he felt no pain. Any parent would be severely startled by this, but Maaran's parents were more than startled. It would be wisest to send him away to some mental instituion; they may be able to help him there. But for some reason, they couldn't bring themselves to say goodbye to their only son like that (Maaran actually had two older sisters, whom had both already gotten married and moved away). And so, they decided that they would simply have him marry sooner so that he would go off to work on the fields to better occupy himself.
At age 12, Maaran was married and unchanged. While he worked on the fields, whenever he was at home he continued to have that same expression on his face. At age 13, his wife died of malaria and he was alone again. Now, he lost all interest to do anything and returned to sitting at home and staring out the window. One day, a strange man came to his home and told him he was a doctor. Maaran didn't believe him, nor did he want to talk to him. The man was strange, and Maaran didn't want to deal with strange people. However, the man told Maaran that he should attend a special school, a school which would help him to become a better person. Though Maaran didn't really care what others thought about him, the idea of going away to another land, a foreign land, thrilled him. And so, at age 14, he left to become a Freshman at Shibusen Academy.
Biography Of Teenager:
However, Maaran was discouraged to discover that at Shibusen, nothing changed. Now, he was forced into more social interactions, and even forced to find a partner. Of course, none of this thrilled him. Yet, his Freshman year, he found a weapon partner and together they became stronger. Still, throughout his first year at Shibusen, Maaran found himself gradually hating people more and more. The next year, he came in as a Sophomore and found that he still despised people. Even his own partner, who always seemed to have some sort of other motive. But none of that really mattered. Now, Maaran figured that to get anywhere in life, he ought to just shut up and tolerate all the people and things he hated. All this time, Maaran prided himself by keeping his Hindu ways... For the most part. All the while he had to kill Kishin Eggs, so non-violence towards all living things was a bit difficult to maintain. But not once did he get into a fight with another student and not once did he eat meat, drink alcohol, or go so far as to even smash a spider.
About half-way through his Sophomore year, Maaran was approached by the same man who had confronted him back in India. Still, this man was strange and seeing him again only served to irritate him. The man wound that bizarre screw on the side of his head and said frankly that he was fascinated by Maaran. Maaran was irritated by this man, and yet somehow he found himself going to visit Dr. Stein every day after school. In return, Stein taught him the technique of Soul Menace. While Maaran was not thrilled at learning this technique, he did become more and more proficient. All the while, he became more and more angry as well and throughout his training, Maaran started to get into more and more fights at school. Despite his teachings as a child, Maaran started to brutally attack any person who irritated him even slightly. Several students were sent to the hospital because of him, but Maaran continued to train and become more and more powerful. Stein only became more and more amused by him, as well. It was like a never-ending cycle that was slowly winding more and more out of control.
Towards the end of his Sophomore year, Maaran had finally had it with Stein. At this time, Maaran began to train his own technique, Soul Purge. It was difficult to control, and he even burned down his apartment training. Then, in one of his training sessions with Stein, Maaran had had it with Stein and attack the man using his Soul Purge. Stein's Soul Menace was much more powerful, and before Maaran could even react Stein had swooped in and grabbed his forehead. Using Soul Menace, he sent such a powerful burst of his Soul Wavelength that Maaran's skull literally shattered and tore through his skin. He awoke the next day in the hospital wing with a note from Stein saying that he no longer wished to train him. From then on, Maaran always had a scar across the top part of his face, as if to forever remind him that he was not good enough, that no matter how hard he tried Stein would always be there and would always be better than him. Of course, the old man died a few years later but that didn't matter much. What mattered to Maaran was that he was weak.
His senior year, Maaran continued to get into fights. Though one fight set apart the rest. He was challenged by another crew of cocky kids, though this one was different. There were three, two weapons and a Meister. One of the weapons and the Meister were classmates of his, people who had apparently always wanted to challenge him. The other weapon was his own. This alone pissed Maaran off, and the battle was over in a second. Maaran used a mixture of his Soul Purge and Soul Menace to kill all three of them. In an instant, they turned from students to charcoled masses of burnt skin that weren't even recognizable anymore. After this move, Maaran was kicked out of Shibusen and sent into prison. Since he was still under 18, Maaran would only have to serve five years, as he was also given some slack by Stein (who appeared, just before his death), Shinigami-san, and pleading guilty. Still, those years were long and Maaran initially vowed to change, returning to his home in India to hopefully start a new life as he had no future in being a Meister.
Biography Of Adult:
Maaran came home to find out that he was now an Untouchable for not only breaking ahimsa but killing three people. So Maaran went to the United States and immediately got arrested again for beating up some drunkards. In jail, this time, he somehow convinced some guy to give him a tattoo on his right arm. It wasn't a bad craftsmanship, either. No hidden meaning or anything of the sort. He was released a few months later, and put back in jail for beating up more drunkards and a cop who tried to stop him. This time, he got the tattoo "कोई भविष्य" along his neck. After a year and a half, Maaran was released again and figured that it wasn't worth going back in jail again. Quickly, Maaran found a new job and, ironically enough, was a bartender. At this time, Maaran vowed to change and follow his teachings as a child. Then he was arrested again for beating up some more guys.
After his last arrest, Maaran simply went into recluse. This was when he was most surprised to have Shinigami-sama approach him. Shinigami-sama asked him to be a teacher, for some reason, and for some reason Maaran accepted. Currently, it is his first year as a teacher.

Maaran was originally taught in the technique Soul Menace, however he altered it into his own form of the ability, known by him as Soul Purge.
While, like Soul Menace, he uses his wavelength into an opponent's body, using his own special wavelength he gives the attack an electric-like shock property or a flame property depending on his choice. Using this, he can not only cause people's brains to become electrocuted, but he can also use it as though he had control over fire and form his wavelength into a blast of fire. However, by sacrificing directly driving his Soul Wavelength it is shown that his technique is much weaker than a Soul Menace of Stein's quality. Even so, Maaran prefers Soul Purge as it is more wild and uncontrolled/unrefined, in a way.

Soul Based Skills:
Soul Purge
-An ability similar to Soul Menace, Maaran uses his own Soul Wavelength to generate an attack. However, unlike Soul Menace Maaran creates his wavelength into a physical form, most frequently fire or red energy. He gave himself his nickname due to his most used part of this ability with a Soul Purge wavelength appearing as flames. Since it is not directly driving one's wavelength into an opponent, while it has a wider range of attack than Soul Menace it is not as powerful.
Soul Menace
-The technique is a form of self resonance which is only known to be usable by Stein and Black Star. By resonating with one's own soul the user can drive their own soul wavelength directly into an opponent's body through a physical strike on them. This can cause strong direct and internal damage, it is even capable of damaging someone who is being protected by black blood. It is later discovered by Black Star and Kid that the Soul Menace technique is enhanced by water as water seemingly conducts soul wavelength energy better than air does.
Two Palm Soul Menace - Twin Spears
-This is a variation of the attack Soul Menace that instead makes use of both hands, rather than just one. The attack works using the same principle as its one handed version; that by resonating with one's own soul, the user can drive their own soul wavelength directly into an opponent's body through a physical strike on them, causing strong direct and internal damage. However, due to the inclusion of an extra hand, the attack's power is greatly amplified and able to incapacitate even strong opponents.
Successive Palm Soul Menace - Three Extremes "Wèi" "Wú" "Shǔ"
-A variation of the Soul Menace technique, that instead rapidly hits an opponent three times in succession, using the same fist. The attack inflicts enough internal damage to cause the target to bleed from the mouth, as displayed during its only demonstration against Medusa, in the fight occuring in the midst of her operation to revive the Kishin.
