“Otteeea! Otteeeaa, where are you?” A voice boomed out. He was miles away from his homeland, and already was he lost. He should have never let Otea go off on her own! Look what she had gotten him into. Stupid, you are the one that followed her. Look what YOU got yourself into! a voice popped up in his mind. Suoh grumbled, shaking his silver mane as his deep brown eyes scanned the area for his creamy coated cousin. “Shut up. If I am lost, then most likely she is lost too!”
But if she is lost, and you are lost, that makes you both lost and therefore does not mean you will necessarily find her. The voice said again. Besides, if you didn’t take so many twists and turns all you would have to do is turn around and head straight back to Priderock.
“Will you just shut up already!” Suoh had lost it. Perhaps he had stayed out from the pridelands too long. Talking and arguing with himself was never a good sign.
The charcoal lion had begun a trot. He pondered whether or not to give up looking for Otea and to just going home.
Just go home. You know she’ll come back eventually. No need to worry about it. his mind told him. He had come to agree with himself, turning around. Now, the question was, where was home? Suoh sighed. His brown eyes settled upon a form of a bright white lion with a crimson mane and tail. Maybe he could point him in the direction of his pride.
“Um…excuse me! Hi..Uh, My name is Suoh, and I am a little bit lost…do you think you can help me out? I don’t know which way I came from, but I know where I need to go...” Suoh said quickly; he was a little hesitant with his words. “Do you know where the Pridelands are?”
The lion resting on the ground eyes shot open quickly. A small snarl formed on his maw, but was hidden to the charcoal lion. Nafasi turned his bright blue eyes to the younger male and smirked. Fresh meat, dear Nafi. Fresh Meat. his thoughts told him. “Pridelands, ey?” Nafasi asked. Lie Lie Lie! “I do believe that those….lands,” he hid a shudder at the mention of the lands belonging to a pride, “are…” he thought for a moment. Of course Nafasi /knew/ where the lands were, but he didn’t want this little git to know where it was. Besides, he hadn’t hunted in a while, what was so different about lion meat compared to klipspringer or zebra. “…that way,” Nafasi intentionally pointed in the wrong direction. “but, you look quite tired, and thirsty. Perhaps I can lead you to a nice waterin’ hole to get freshened up? That way, you’ll be ready for your trek back.” Good thinkin’, Nafi. Befriend him. Then go for the kill.

Suoh’s ears perked up when he had heard that this lion knew where the pridelands were! Great! He could go home, sleep in a nice den, sneak some meals off the lionesses from their hunts. Oh, life would be so much better than living in these rogue lands. “Great!” he would start in the direction that Nafasi had pointed to, but when the white lion mentioned the water hole, Suoh looked down at himself. He had been out here for a while already, and a nice dip in water would definitely soothe his already sore muscles. Maybe he should catch a small meal for the other lion, for being so helpful. “I would love that! Thank you so much! You have been so helpful.
“By the way, I’m Suoh,” his brown eyes met Nafasi’s bright blue ones. They looked like Otea’s.

He took the bait Nafi, lead him to the waterhole now. Then you know what to do, Nafasi’s mind told him. Don’t let me down this time. it was a quick snarl, but enough for Nafasi to glare. “Right,” he muttered under his breath, before looking back up at Suoh. “Name’s Nafasi.” It was all he said as an introduction. “This way.”
The walk had been short. Once over a hill, the small watering hole was in sight. There was even a giant boulder there to take a good catnap on. Suoh looked around, noting that there were no others around. “Pretty secluded, huh?” He asked Nafasi, heading for the water. “Must be nice.” There were some perks of being in the roguelands compared to the Pridelands. For one, the quietness. The Pridelands were so big that they it was almost impossible for a dead silence to ring across the land. Here, the lands were so vast that he may only meet one creature a day, if he was lucky.
He lowered his head to the water as soon as he reached it, lapping up the lukewarm water. It was a relief on his parched throat. When he was done, he stepped into the water itself, soaking all the way to his knees. He turned back to Nafasi who was just watching him with the intense blue eyes that his own family was known for. “You’ve been out here long, Nafasi?”

“All my life.” Nafasi grunted, his claws slowly digging into the dirt. Not yet, Nafi the voice purred. Soon, not yet, wait til he steps out of the water. Soggy meat is never very tasty.
Suoh frowned at Nafasi’s short response. “Oh…So you are use to this then?” the charcoal male hopped out of the water, the droplets dripping on the ground. “You know, I really can’t thank you enough for helping me out! I followed my cousin out here, but couldn’t find her. I should repay you for helping me. Maybe I can catch you something for a meal? A rabbit, or small antelope or something?” The charcoal male walked past Nafasi after a moment.
Now! “…Or something.” Nafasi snarled, lunging after the male.

A large female had been watching silently from her hiding spot. A small growl emitted from her throat. She didn’t enjoy how the white male had just upped and attacked the other lion without giving him much a chance to fight back. She stayed were she was however. Something wasn’t right about the white lion, and Gwen wasn’t going to be the one that would break up the fight. She watched as the white male repeatedly grabbed at the darker lion, tossing him to the ground before going after him again. Brutal, the way the lion fought. Gwen scoffed. When the charcoal lion did not even attempt to get up, she frowned. Was he dead?
“Amaruk?” She turned her attention to the maned wolf by her side. “Be a dear, and distract that lion. Taunt him, whatever it takes to get him away from the lion.” She said to the dog-like creature. With a short nod, the maned wolf did just that, running around the white lion in attempt to get him to follow.
She was lucky to have befriended the creature in her god form. Sometimes her avian form just didn't work as well.
Nafasi, angry about the sudden intrusion of the wolf, decided to go after the male (per instruction of his mind, as well). When Amaruk disappeared, followed by Nafasi, Gwen took this time to head over to the heavily bleeding male. “Poor guy.” She tsked, circling the severely injured lion. When she spotted him breathing still, a small smirk rose to her maw. “Oh, you are still alive?”
She nudged the male, hoping to spark some kind of movement from him. Only a small groan. Well, it was something.
Gwen bent down next to the male’s ear. “You better get up kid, or else that lion will return for more. Hurry up now, Amaruk can only take him so far before the big oaf gets too tired to follow anymore.”

“Can’t. Hurts…” Suoh bit back a cry, as he opened a bleary eye towards the female’s voice. “’tey..uh?” All he saw were bright eyes, but then no more.
Teuh? “No no, don’t go back to sleep. Come on kid,” she nudged the male again, this time harder.
Suoh yelped at the nudge, but was eventually brought to his feet, shakily. He was even leaning heavily on the female. “Why…are…you…helpingme?” he gasped out, almost collapsing. The lioness had caught him though. Even though she was smaller than the lion, she was a lot stronger.

“You’re still alive after that fight….” If you even consider that a fight. Gwen considered every part of it a cheap shot. “Many lions of your…stature,” clean fur, a none ruffled mane, but be a pride boy, “would have died probably by now. But you still live. So, once we get you better, I will train you if you want. To fight that is,” she said as she walked slowly. She could only keep the male up for a little while longer, but as long as they were away from the fight scene, the brawny lion would probably not have the brains to track them.
“Come on, focus on walking and not talking. Save your energy. You will need to if you want to heal.” Gwen told him as she felt the weight on her get heavier. They were a little ways from the waterhole until the charcoal male’s knees buckled, collapsing fully on the white lioness. Gwen grunted, quickly rolling out from under the male. “Or…we can just rest here.” She groaned, looking at his fur now stained with brown from dried blood. “It’ll be a miracle if he makes it out of this.” She said to herself, looking over the charcoal male, before turning her eyes to the direction they had come from. Amaruk would find her, she had no doubt about that. She just hoped the white lion wouldn’t. She could fight if she had too, but she would prefer not too.
She watched the horizon, listening to the harsh sounds of breathing from the injured male. He was in for a long journey.
