Buy yourself a car. Don't sit and expect to be handed one. So many kids are like that these days.

Chron0s Buy yourself a car. Don't sit and expect to be handed one. So many kids are like that these days. I go to school and I have to pay for it when my parents can't which is half of the time so I can't just use the little money I have for a car.

Surely you have some sort of skill you can use to your advantage in the job market?

Chron0s Still not exactly sympathetic; sounds like excuses to me. But, hey do your thing. It's your life. rolleyes Say what? Lololololololololololol Well, you have my permission to drop your search to find a reason to sympathize for my situation. BUT I won't lie....Yes, I have an excuse for not buying a car and I don't plan on changing that aspect of my life. I feel I am doing the right thing paying for school instead of a car, its annoying that the excuse is there, but I guarantee I'm not sorry about it. I'm frustrated, but not sorry. But on the good side, my dad and I went around looking at used cars and we found a 2004 Mini cooper in good condition with about 126,000 miles for $7,500. Psh I don't know anything about checking for cars, but my dad apparently thinks he does and he got real picky but eh I trust his decisions. At this point when my tax return comes, I should be able to get either a: 2004 mini cooper (if its still there) ~126k mileage ~$7,500 2004 bmw 325i (depending on the discount my cousin gives me) ~59k mileage ~price unk yet or a 2002 lexus is300 (if its still there) ~86k mileage ~$7,000 I like the mini, but i like the options as well, which should I choose?

Excuse =/= valid reason.
You sound like a spoiled child going with your daddy to pick out cars. You don't seem to understand that, in your position, a car is a tool; a need, not a want.
You sit there and tell us all about your school payments, and your Walgreens salary, then you start talking about buying seven grand Minis, BMWs, and Lexus (Lexi?). Reality check, please.

Then yes im very spoiled. psh if i saved enough to buy the vehicles i like so i dont see why I shouldn't have what i saved for. I put off without a vehicle for so long so i could buy something great, does that not make sense? I don't know maybe your poor as hell, but having nice things you save for isn't being spoiled where i live xd lol but again technically you are right, I spoil myself because i buy myself food when im hungry, pay for school, save for a great car opportunity instead of blowing it all on something i dont want. where is all this haterade coming from?

126k miles is ALOT for 7k
But what are you using this car for?

Once the 325 is fixed ill sell the mini (if i don't fall in love with it) and then buy the 325.
