Lieutenant Painite had not come back to Elysion of her own free will since the battles. This place, as beautiful as it could be, and as fascinating to her as it certainly was, held some interesting memories and a distinct level of 'over complicated'ness that she wasn't sure she knew how to deal with yet. But she was simply not the kind of person to let herself be stumped by any problem, existential or not.

Being here now, she let herself think more on the events of the last few battles. She was well healed now, at least, after the one in Quail's Eye's zone, glad for the energy she had stolen to heal her wounds.

That had been such an intense battle...

While the flying was awesome, and using Mr. Saddles as an improvised broom was incredible fun, there had been some fairly intense moments that, when she managed to get some sleep in the middle of the day, haunted her dreams. Real dreams? Dreams about a dreamworld made her head hurt. She ran a hand through her short hair as she pondered things, spacing out a bit unintentionally as she waited.

She had never seen so many senshi in one place, and she had certainly never wanted to kill anyone before. She had thought about it, almost killed a civilian on accident once, but generally she was unfamiliar with the urge. Surely she would do it if it was necessary, but now her definition of what made it so was shifting. The line had been moved forward, but blurred. Before, she had told herself that killing senshi would happen, in battle, to keep herself alive or if ordered. But in that realm with wings, she had wanted to actively seek them out, do everything she could to bring their end, even if they hadn't fought with her. Attacking Pegasus had come out of no where, and seeing her fall had been such a triumph, though not enough. And that was due in large part to General Tanzanite taking that hit for her, and that one thing she had said before vanishing.

Kill them all.

But now she was wondering if it had just been adrenaline, or if something really had clicked in her mind. And more importantly, why.

Tanzanite seemed unable to leave this place.

Even when awake, Elysion filled the General's thoughts. It crowded out all other priorities until Tanzanite would sit for hours, staring into the darkness of the Negaverse while thinking about the events to come that night. With Elysion had come a new level of fanaticism for the already devoted woman. With Elysion had come the dawning realization that they were not simply fighting for a Queen with a hunger for power.

They were fighting for Earth, and for the humans who the senshi would use their alien powers to one day enslave to the will of Serenity. It had put her on an obsessive path that was self-destructive, and it showed in the dark circles that ringer her eyes as she appeared that night in Elysion.

“Beautiful, isn't it?” she sighed softly, and for a brief moment the General looked at peace as she gazed out over the landscape, “We'll be lucky if the senshi don't burn it to the ground by the time their invasion is over.”

Painite very nearly leapt out of her skin when she heard a soft voice penetrate the serene silence of the dreamscape. She looked at the General in surprise, though she shouldn't exactly have been so startled, blushing slightly because she had let herself get lost in thought.

She found that area, thought, to have its pros and cons. She loved thinking too hard about problems, about traps and schemes, but when it came to introspection and deeper understanding of things, Painite wasn't exactly adept. She wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, despite her own fantasies about super genius standards in her plots. She was almost embarrassed to let her thoughts, then, settle so heavily on her, to the point where she hadn't heard or felt anyone coming up to her.

How had that even happened?

"General," Painite said in her lightly accented tone, with unfamiliar rigidity. She watched Tanzanite, but couldn't hold her stance for long, relaxing and nodding her head as she looked back over the world.

"The Senshi don't deserve places like this. I mean. I think, anyway," she frowned at her feet. "I mean, I guess they don't deserve any place, and it's our job to, you know. Uhm. Get rid of them. I'm just..." she looked at the General again, not shy, it seemed, about confessing her mind without prompting. Really, she wasn't shy about much, "it's hard to think that those fights happened in this place, you know? With everyone fighting and dying and getting hurt. I felt different in all that. But now, when it's... quiet. It's different."
