 It was late in the afternoon. The sky was speckled with wisps of clouds. The air was just barely warm as a dark blue mare stared into the endless depth of the sky. Her tail was flicking as she smelled at the last remains of winter drag on longer then it did in year's before. She shook out her coat as if that would dispel the cold from her skin. There was no reason this mare was standing out in the cold, she just liked to feel weather no matter what kind. She looks around as a few brave birds who stayed for winter flew above. "I wonder when it'll get warm this cold weather will freeze all the food." She looked down and grinned. "Though I guess frozen food might still be yummy."

The cool weather didn't seem to bother him much as he wandered off into the meadow. His massive hooves made dull, soft thumps into the deadened grass as he walked. What did this new land look like all green? He'd arrived in the winter and the prospect of seeing spring breath life into his new home was rather one he found himself slightly anxious to see. Sure spring meant more food, but it also brought on a different look to the land he was still getting to know.

Aiane snuffled at the ice covered grass looking for a part that still looked green and sweet. It had been quiet along time since she last ate alone, last stood alone. Had it really only been two years since she last was so alone? It felt like a life time of happiness staying near him, and even making a family. She sighed before looking up with a smile. She'd see him again soon, he had only left to look for some strawberries, but se still felt lonely from the single hour he was away.
She shook her fur again as she looked out over the wide field she was standing in. It was very similar to the field where he had given her the flower on her head. How happy that day was. Looking around helped give her a sense of the place made her feel at home as she recognized familiar plants that she knew would always be near by. Then when she was staring at a frozen black berry bush she noticed not far off was a rather large stallion. He almost blended in with the grey world around him. If it weren't for the green patches around him she'd probably have missed him. She continued to watch him wondering what he was doing and if he might like a nice chat with her to ease her loneliness.

Glancing about, he gave the open meadow a once over determining the coast to be reletively clear. The only other soul he seemed to see about was a blue mare standing off on her own. Curious.. did she not know the dangers a target like her could face? Or that there had been recently spotted kalona causing trouble in the area?
Still as deceiving as looks were, he stood off and gave a greeting whinny. It was best not to get too close on the off chance that she saw him as a threat. He had to admit. some of the smaller mares did seem to get skittish around a bulky male such as he, and why not? it could be a rather daunting sight if you weren't use to it.

Aiane Smiled when she heard the large male's greeting. She smiled and gave a greeting whinny back. He seems to be a nice enough type of guy. She took a few steps over toward him but slowly trying not to assume just from him saying hello that he actually wanted to chat. She smiled as she waited to see if he would approach or just walk away.

Her advance towards him let him know she wasn't looking to just be alone this morning. A nice chat was nice here and there and meeting others was always a pleasure so long as they weren't trying to bury him.. One crazy mare already had done that and he didn't wish to try to dig himself out of a living grave again. Slowly he moved forward, towards the blue mare. His forelock flopped about as his head bobbed up and down in it's usual dorky fashion. It was something he'd always done. He looked rather goofy on a daily basis especially because his forelock never seemed to want to stay out of his eyes.Once he'd gotten close enough, he stopped. "Hello, nice morning isn't it?"

As the stallion made his slow way toward her a smile again crossed her face. He did want to talk, that made her happy standing in the cold alone after having spent every cold day near her mates warm body made the cold feel that much more prominent. As she watches him approach she couldn't help but giggle at his hair. "Hello, yes it is a nice morning, if not a bit cold. It's nice seeing the green slowly come back."

"It is indeed a bit chilly.. but the green is a welcome sight." His voice was deep, thick, soft yet held a warmth to it. He looked around once more. "It's dangerous though.. being out in the open alone... There've been... Kalona seen attacking soquili around here lately." He wasn't intending to scare her just stating a fact it was dangerous to be out in the open and alone. "No matter... we're no longer alone eh?"

Aiane smiled at his warning. "I have lived a large part of my life alone, and wandering, so I can run very fast." She looked around the field again before turning back to him. "This field is large enough that I can see someone approach long before their close enough to attack. That's one reason why I love large fields like this one. Their also perfect for running for long periods of time with nothing as an obstacle, it can be really fun." She nodded at his last statement with a grin. "You are right we aren't, that's nice it can be lonely when your standing alone."

"One can be alone when around others all the same." He gave a small nod. It was true even around many an individual could be alone. Shaking his head, he shoved the thought aside and produces a goofy wide grin on his already dorky looking mug. "But that's nothing to think of for now. Running can be fun.. though I much rather prefer a leisure walk myself." His tail gave a brief swish of short fluffiness that looked more like a wag that a swish. "This field sure is large enough though, you are right about that. Say.. what lays beyond the treed on the other side of the field?" He nodded in the direction of which he'd spoken. He didn't wish to go here just yet.. just get a feel of what was over there.

Aiane tilted her head and smiled. "Someone can be in a group but still be alone," she spoke these words slowly as she tasted their meaning. "Hmm, I've never had that sensation before. I guess I have never really been in a large enough of a group or something." As she looked at his face she couldn't help but give a soft giggle at the sight of his silly and adorable smile. "Yes just walking slowly can be very nice, especially under a warm sun after a rain storm while everything is glistening. It can almost be called magical." At his last question she turned her head toward his line of sight and tilted it as she thought. "Two leggers are over there they've set up a relatively large village, and if you go during the summer you may find these yummy little red fruits that are tart and sweet at the same time."

Funny.. he hadn't thought there were more two-legged than the ones he'd passed when he first left his home.. was this another group? Or was this the same band only traveling around here and there. Just how many of the two-legged were there? "I see.. I'd rather not get too close to the two-legged... I hear they're interesting to watch though.. I know I saw some when I left my home land at the beginning of winter. They didn't seem like they'd hurt me but I still gave them their distance.." He glanced up the the sky. It was clear, a blue cornflower shade as the sun climbed steadily into the sky. Looking back at the mare it dawned on him that he didn't yet know her name. "My name's Shilo by the way.." He offered her yet another friendly smile and he shook her head to try and get his forelock from his eyes.

Aiane nodded at his caution. "Giving them their space is a good idea, some will catch and hold you against your will if your not carful. They'll also force themselves onto your back and make you carry them, the only good thing about them is their food." Before carrying on she stopped to thing before reforming her opinion. "Though I suppose some can be nice, my mate got some leg wrappings for a two-legger and he wasn't harmed." Aiane smiled and bowed her head slightly when he gave his name and as she gave her's, "I'm Aiane, it's very nice to meet you."

"Pleasure meeting you as well." He chuckled softly and nodded once more. "Oh yes like we soquili there are always those that would do us harm and those who would not. I suppose it would be the same for really any other creature... The leader of my herd has a bear familiar.. and some bears will eat soquili. so I guess that's a good example of it.." He pondered for a moment. "So you're waiting on maybe your mate to return then since he's not here with you?" Cocking his head to the side some he pondered. "Then how shall we pass the time till you are to meet him? I'd feel a cad if I just walked off and left you here alone, especially since we've really only just met."

Aiane thought on his word a moment before nodding, "your right I suppose there is a dark side to every creature that can move. Even ant's maybe, since some do bite, and it hurts." She shook her fur out as if to shake the memory away before speaking again. She nodded and smiled, "Yes he's so nice and went off to find some berries since I couldn't find much grass that wasn't so frozen it was tasteless." She giggled lightly at the memory. "I have no idea we could talk? Talking and getting to know people is nice, it's one of the best parts of traveling a lot, though it can be lone some if you since it's hard to keep friends like that."
