She had sent a message to Livi a few days ago, telling him to meet up at the maul to fulfill a promise made long ago - to visit her family boutique. She wasn't late, at least, not according to the time as stated on her skelephone. She had spent way too long trying to decide what to wear and how she should style her hair - so much so that she had almost lost track of time if not for the fact that Rosenthal had carried her skelephone to her to remind her to hurry... In the end, she ended up letting down her hair, wearing a simple magenta dress and putting on a pair of black heels. Thankfully, the Minipet seemed to like Livi so he didn't insist on coming along, and Lizzy was rather relieved at that.

However, as she neared their meeting place - Scarebucks - she spotted a familiar looking Demon near the entrance and couldn't help glancing at the time on her skelephone worriedly. While the time told her that she was indeed on time, she didn't want to make her friend wait any longer than he had to. Besides, she was sort of the one who planned this trip, and it would be bad if she was late!

"Evening, Livi!" She called out, her greeting accomplished by a smile and a wave. Brushing her hair back as she stood in front of him, the Demoness' smile only grew, "I hope you like carriages - we have to ride one to get to the shop... It should arrive any time soon."

The invite to go to the boutique had made him excited, since he had been wanting to visit the place when she had first mentioned it. He couldn't help it. Just the thought of going to a new place made him happy, as he was always looking for new connections to make in his favorite hobby. And so he spent time to make sure he looked presentable, though this time he stuck with his typical green outlook than any other shade. Somehow, he just didn't feel up to fiddling around with color palettes this time. But he did take the time to straighten his hair so it wasn't quite so difficult to deal with and tied the longer white locks into a thick braid. It was fine with him, though Luka saw the braid as a toy and gripped onto it as best he could, swinging about as the demon worked on finishing out his outfit. If Livi wasn't so used to the mini doing things like that, he would have complained about the tugging to his head.

But it was a minor detail. Leaving had proven difficult, as his minis didn't wish to be left behind on this new adventure and had kicked up a bit of a fuss and their howling made him feel bad. He had to promise that he'd take them somewhere fun the next time they went out in order to get them to stop. Last thing he needed was for someone to complain about loud, howling pets who were acting like they were being murdered -_-. Phone and money in hand, he headed to the meeting place, looking down at the time. Yes he was going to be early, but why would he ever be late? And make a ghoul wait for him!? NEVER!

And so he waited for her when he arrived, leaning slightly in his chair as he messed with his phone a bit. There had been some contacts he hadn't added in that he had to fix, but as he noticed the time was right, he put it away and saw Lizzy just as she greeted him. "Evening, Lizzy!" Today he went without the usual jacket and his outfit was a bit modern/Victorian. On anyone else, it would have looked pretty weird but somehow, that boy pulled it off smoothly. But there was no way Lizzy could miss the way his eyes lit up at the mention of a carriage. "Really now? Lead on, dear lady! Is it coming here or is there somewhere we need to be for it?"

"We'll need to move to the road by the maul. It should already be waiting for us - if not, there must had been some sort of delay." She giggled softly at his reaction, glad that he didn't mind riding in a carriage. Some of the Demons seem to prefer fancy cars that run on FEAR... While they are more convenient, a good old carriage is much more elegant in her eyes, and it suited the occasion too!

An amused grin crossed her features, "And it looks like you are dressed for it too!" She meant it as a compliment, of course! She hadn't been able to find any fault with his choice of clothing thus far!

She waited for a bit to allow him to collect himself before leading him out of Scarebucks and towards the entrance - that also functioned as an exit. Once outside, she gestured to a horse-drawn carriage parked at the side of the road. It was a black, slightly decorated hooded carriage; for now, however, the hood had been folded down. The driver was a hooded man, his thin frame hidden under his cloak. A ghost whose features, except for his mouth, can't be seen clearly. He sat on the raised seat at the front, seemingly bored - until he spotted Lizzy that was.

"Ah, Ms Lizzy!" He called, his voice was husky but friendly as he waved to the ghoul, "It is good to see you again. You hadn't grown any taller, I see!" He hopped down from his seat to offer Lizzy a hand as he bowed, giving her a grin as he helped her onto the carriage. Turning to Livi, his grin only widened as he bowed to him as well, "And you must be Mr Livi? What a handsome lad you are!"

A gentle nod was given to her instructions, finding that a rather simple thing to follow. As he followed behind her, he smiled faintly. Lizzy did seem the kind of classy girl who would like traveling by carriage rather than car. It was pleasing to know that people still thought they were classy, even if cars were more flashy and things to brag over, he just never gotten into it, Hecate knows why. One would have assumed someone like him would like things like that; the new, flashy, fast, stupidly expensive and a sign of prosperity. But instead of it being something he fell into, he found cars almost.. distasteful. There was no sense of craftsmanship, nothing original. Sure, one who didn't care would claim all carriages were the same, but they weren't. In so many ways they were different... but that was a topic he could seriously go on about for a long time.

"Though I had no idea that we'd be traveling by carriage, I wanted to at least look presentable for your mother." One thing he knew well of mothers, first impressions were always important and if he failed to impress Lizzy's mother, who knew what would happen. And he wouldn't do anything that would make Lizzy's mother think her daughter was hanging around someone unsavory. He had been about to ask if he looked all right, but something about the tone of how she said that meant that he looked good enough. Though Livi believed he looked amazing and had no shame in things like his body and whatnot, like all envy demons, he thrived off knowing others approved of his choice of clothing. "Something told me I should go a bit traditional today. You looked quite fetching yourself today. You never cease to amaze me with the outfits you wear." And though he was late in complimenting her attire, she could tell he was being sincere about it.

As they left the cafe and he took notice of their transport, his eyes flicked over it, calculating the type, maker and craftsman... or if he knew who made it. He had a few that he knew (and were under his mark for reasons best not discussed) but he didn't see any of their traits on them so as Lizzy stepped in, he watched as she was helped in before he bowed to the coachman. "Yes I am. Thank you kindly, sir, for such words. Your carriage is quite amazing, sir, if I'm allowed to compliment it." Oh yeah, deep down he was very pleased but his smile was polite before he got into the carriage himself and settled into the seat opposite Lizzy. Feeling his fingers tingle in excitement, he gripped them lightly to calm himself a bit. But it was hard to hide the fact he couldn't wait to see the place he had heard so much about.

"You say such kind words yourself, Mr Livi," The ghost bowed again before straightening up, a hand reached out to pat the side of the carriage, "This carriage belonged to the late master... A man after my own heart. He always knew how to pick a good carriage." There was a fond smile on his lips and it lingered. However, once he saw that both his passengers were seated, he returned to his seat at the front, holding the reins as he half turned to look at his passengers.

"We are setting off now," He grinned before turning to face the road, pulling on the reins. The skeletal horse at the front responded with a ghostly neigh before moving, pulling the carriage along at a leisurely speed.

"My mother had heard enough from me to know that you have a good sense of fashion," She giggled, giving the boil seated across her what she hoped was a reassuring nod, "She's looking forward to meeting you, actually!" At his compliment, her face turned a little red, although it was hardly noticeable thanks to the dim lighting set up beside the road. She smiled, "Thank you! Coming from you, it means a lot."

While it was not outwardly displayed, she was rather excited about the trip as well; it had been a while since she had been "home". She missed her mother terribly as well as the days she had spent helping her out at the boutique. While school had been interesting and fun, it still didn't keep her from feeling a little homesick at times! Besides, Livi also happened to be her first friend from school to visit the store!

"Which reminds me! How are you and Carry - that is her name, yes? - getting along?" She was curious, of course, but part of her found it exciting that one of her friends was actually in a relationship, "The two of you looked fantastic during the Scarentines Party! Seems like you're really flexible where color schemes are concerned, although I must say I'm used to seeing you in green..."

Livi had caught that look on the ghost's face and his own widened a bit. It was nice to know there were those who truly liked them as he did. As the carriage jolted slightly as it started, he calmly crossed his legs at the ankles and leaned back into his seat, studying the view a bit. The swaying of the box, the sounds of the creaking wood and the clip clopping of the hooves on the ground... ah, all of it was quite soothing and nice to hear after such a bit of time. Things had been so crazy at school that sometimes, it was hard to simply enjoy the simple things. "Oh? You told your mother about me already? I'm honored!" Since the boil really wasn't the type who liked to toot his own horn (openly anyhow >>) this was a pleasant surprise. A soft chuckle left him as he tilted his head. "You're quite welcome, but I'm only saying a truth. Least as I see it anyway, heh."

The way she spoke about her mother made him curious. Her mother and her seemed to have a rather good relationship, something that was a bit of a myth back home, or at least a very well hidden secret. Part of him was nervous about it but hoping that it would go well. No reason why it shouldn't, right? After all, it was something planned for quite some time and Lizzy was the second person he had met since he had arrived at the school itself. It'd be fun, he decided, and he made himself stop worrying about silly things. It wouldn't do anything other than stress himself out, right? And the last thing he wanted to do was something to embarrass his friend.

"Carry and I?" The sudden question to his pretend ghoulfriend made him blink rapidly before he blushed faintly, looking away a bit as he scratched his cheek in thought. "Yes, that's her name. We're getting along quite well. She's a very sweet ghoul, very excitable but it's fun to be around her. Heh, I never quite know what to expect from her, to be honest." Yes, he had definitely adjusted to having her around, but sometimes being asked about her made him blush, why he wasn't quite sure. But he didn't like when boils said things about her that they really shouldn't. Did he understand he was getting protective? Not really, but it wouldn't truly matter even if he did. "Thank you very much. The shirt had been a gift from her and the rest was simply something to match it, really. Yes, I forgot for some time that I could change my color scheme as needed, as mumra wants me to learn how to gain a snake form, which is so typical of our kind." A look of distaste showed on his face at the thought. "Though why is beyond me honestly... Did I look bad in other colors? I'm used to acid green, truly, but I figured it wouldn't be bad to try other colors..."

Watching Livi, she was glad that he seemed to enjoy the carriage ride; she had wondered if a car would be better, but... In her opinion, it was too speedy; nobody would stop to admire the surrounding view in a car, and they wouldn't have the time to have a talk before reaching the boutique either! At Livi's voice, she snapped out of her thoughts and smiled, "I did! Mother enjoys listening to me talk about my school life." Of course, she does leave out details here and there...

"Oh? She doesn't strike me as the excitable and unpredictable type," She was surprised by that fact, although it was a pleasant surprise really, as evident from the grin on her face. She noted the blush before adding, with a soft giggle, "I'm glad... It takes work to maintain a relationship, but it seems like its working out for the both of you!"

A paused followed before she shook her head, raising a hand to wave it dismissively, "You do not look bad in other colors at all! Its just me being used to seeing you in one color... I think its good to venture!" It was the truth, she was simply used to seeing him in green! Her eyes widened slightly at the look on his face when he mentioned his snake form - probably something like a natural form? - as she leaned forward a little, looking thoughtful.

"You know, I have a spider form..." She smiled sheepishly in a soft voice, barely audible above the sound of the skeletal horse's hoofs against the road. Her face turned a light shade of pink; she wasn't ashamed of it, but... She wasn't used to telling anyone about it even if it was pretty obvious, since she was a spider Demon and everything. A short pause followed before she continued with a shrug before she leaned back against her seat again, "I don't really like it that much..."

The more she spoke of her mother, the more internally baffled he became. Mothers liked hearing about school things or activities their child did? The only thing that showed his confusion was a slight brow lift but he looked thoughtful about it all. His mother cared naught for the things that happened in his day to day life, only that it didn't bring shame to her and the Sect as a whole. "Seems like you speak to her often." Must be nice... but that wasn't spoken aloud.

"She doesn't?" Now his face showed his outright bafflement and this time, it was over Carry. "What does she strike you as? So far, I've yet to figure her out. But she never seems to stop being amusing and cute." He had no idea of the soft look to his face as he spoke of her and a chuckle escaped him a bit. Regardless of what his mumra thought, Carry was important to him. And he wanted to make her as happy as possible.. until she decided to end their arrangement of course. "It is. I think we fit well together. It doesn't even seem like work at all... it's.. comfortable." Which is vastly odd for him to admit to. Nothing was just simply comfortable. Ever. "What about you? Has any boil caught your interest as of yet?" It struck the boil as odd Lizzy wasn't swarmed with love letters and suitors and he was about to say so before he rubbed his chin a bit. Would that be bad to say?

He couldn't say. Usually conversations were easy for him and things usually had a flow. And yet, since coming to the school, he seemed to have hit blocks or something. It was just hard to understand but he liked the challenge. But the topic returned to forms and he leaned forward a bit to hear her. "You do not? Why so?" The curiosity was hard to miss but he never would press ever. But at the same time, he could understand not liking a form. He found changing one's physical looks a lot better than changing into a large, scale snake thing. There was no desire to learn that in his book. Ever. It took a moment before the obvious reason as to why she wouldn't like the form came to him and he mentally smacked himself. But sometimes, the reasons for disliking something were never as easy as one assumes. So... it could be something else.

"I do... I think she'll be upset if I don't update her once in a while!" She chuckled softly before smiling sheepishly; it sounded like she was speaking of a friend rather than her mother, but that was how it had always been for her. Then again, her mother had always given her quite a bit of freedom.

"She looks so elegant! I thought her personality would reflect that, actually," Her eyes widened as she leaned back, tapping a finger on her chin thoughtfully; she had never spoken to Carry before, but she seemed like a nice enough ghoul and being Livi's ghoulfriend, she must be, right? A pause followed before she spoke again, giggling, "I'm glad though! Sounds to me like she added some excitement to your life! I have to talk to her one day~ She sounds adorable!"

When the conversation switched to talk about her, however, she was surprised into silence for a while; there was someone on her mind, but... She wasn't sure if it meant anything yet.

"No, not really," She finally replied with a shake of her head, although there was a visible blush on her cheeks; it could easily be a reaction due to the question itself, however, "Although to be honest, I hadn't interacted with a lot of boils since joining the school." She admitted with a nervous chuckle; apart from Livi, she could only think of 2 other boils she felt relatively comfortable around... Considering how long she had been in school, that's a small number.

"I'm a giant spider," She stated in a deadpan voice before laughing, "I'm not comfortable with it at all either! I suppose humans would fear something like that, but... I don't look forward to using it." She eyed Livi for a moment before returning his question, "How about you? You don't seem to like the idea of having a snake form...? I personally find snakes to be beautiful creatures..." Which was probably evident from the way she had fawned over Sepheran's white snake during minipet class.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2011 11:50 am

He couldn't help the chuckle that left him, though she caught a flash of something.. confusion, maybe? Bafflement for sure, yes... but he was still amused. "Best not to make her upset. That wouldn't be wise to do." A mother.. that was like a friend? Impossible, wasn't it? Couldn't be. His mumra wouldn't know how to be friendly to a rock, much less a person. Even less likely her blood children. How was it possible that a mother allowed her child to become who they wanted to be? Were all moms nice or was it a species thing? It was.. vastly confusing. But it also made him all the more interested in meeting Lizzy's mom. Maybe this would be a good thing to learn... before that woman invaded the school.

"Then please don't let Carry become aware I'm giving away inner secrets. She is very elegant, but deep down, she's a girl like any other. However, she is a Pride avarice and I think, out of all the avarice branches, Pride has the toughest of positions. She's a very sweet and caring girl, who thinks a bit too much about things. But I know how that feels. I think you and she would get along fabulously! Just call it a feeling." And he was positive they would become good friends. And not just for the fashion either. He wasn't sure how, but he just felt it deep down. And he tended to be right on those kinda feelings.

Her silence over the question of if she had an interest made him tilt his head a bit, his rings jingling as they spun on his horns. Oho? She was blushing, how adorable! Covering his smile with a well placed hand over his mouth, he studied her. Now love wasn't something he himself was very clear on but he could see someone had her interest, But he wouldn't push. Not until she was ready or more certain of it. "Hmm.. that's true. But there's always time, right? New students come in all the time. And there's no need to rush, right? If the right one comes along, they'll appear, yeah?" His stance showed he was understanding. After all, the last thing he had expected to happen was someone would show that kind of interest in him.

It still boggled the mind. Nevermind the fact it really wasn't real, it still throw him for a loop.

"I can understand that... a spider can scare some humans into early graves, yeah? But for the one who is that spider... it makes sense that not all spider demons like it. Me?" His green eyes shifted to orange, a somewhat annoyed shade as he glanced out the window again, his fingers shifting to tap against his leg a bit. "I hate it. I find it rather distasteful. Basilisks are frightening creatures, same as giant spiders, but.. just the thought of slithering about and... ugh." A shudder overtook his body and he fought to not scowl. "I dunno, I've never quite liked snakes. But that could quite possibly be my brothers' faults. Mumra wasn't too pleased that I didn't bother learning, like everyone else, but I feel that if someone needs to take a shape, they should at least want to be that shape... or mayhap I'm rambling, sorry." Feeling guilty, he pushed that annoyed feeling away and his eyes shifted to normal and he grinned. "I'm only familiar with envy snakes, sadly, so it's possible I could like snakes that are.. snakes heh, and not truly people."

"Indeed!" She laughed at his comment, although she noted that he looked... Surprised? Confused? She wasn't quite sure what it was, but something told her that his mother was nothing like hers. Best not to probe though, right, since it was a family matter?

Her smile grew when he started to go on about Carry; it was very sweet, the way he complimented her, and she leaned forward a little. Was this what it must be like to be in a relationship? She giggled when he was done, nodding before flashing him a grin, "Of course! And she does sound lovely~ You'll have to introduce us sometime!"

To herself, she noted that he was doing his job as an Envy demon right; she was sure most ghouls would envy Carry, for having such a thoughtful boilfriend!

"Of course! I like to think there's someone out there for everyone..." She paused, her expression softening before she blushed, smiling, "For now, I'm just... Sort of looking forward to making new friends. I miss the ones I left back home, but I've been meeting so many awesome new people in school! You, for example, make a good friend, even if we hadn't known each other for very long." She beamed at him, "You're sincere and polite, and I feel comfortable talking to you." She couldn't help feeling like he was holding back sometimes though.

She tilted her head slightly to the side; the change in his eye color did not slip past her, although she wasn't sure what it meant. Judging from his tone and expression though, he must dislike his natural form as much as she disliked hers; it was rather comforting, really... She knew of demons who were more comfortable in their natural form than their humanoid form, but few who actually dislike the former more.

"Don't apologize," She offered him a small smile, reaching out to gently pat his hand once before leaning back against her seat again, "Although if it makes you feel better, I find snakes to be beautiful creatures... Ah, do you remember Sepheran from Minipet class? The Basilisk with a white snake - Liannan - around his neck? She is gorgeous... I thought that from the very first time I saw her."

She then giggled, smiling sheepishly, "Maybe we'll grow to like our other form some day, yes? For now, it can be our secret~"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 26, 2011 11:20 am

It was nice, he realized, talking with her. Not that he felt she'd be difficult, but most of the ghouls he was used to back home were clingy, chatty to the point of annoying and demanding. But Lizzy was very sweet, smart and composed. He hadn't expected to find ghouls who weren't self absorbed so he was very pleased. Yes, it was a nice to be able to talk to someone and not worry about some things with. "I shall definitely do so! I know she's always looking to make some more friends and the fact you both are very into fashion shall only make it more a sure thing. Least I think so." Friendships and relationships were still a confusing thing for him, but he was getting it. Hopefully.

A faint blush appeared on his face when she said he was a good friend and a pleased smile showed on his face. So.. he could be a good friend. "I've never had friends, truly, so there's no one I miss back home, sadly." Well, deep down, it wasn't a sad thing, but it was terribly rude to say otherwise. Especially in the company of a ghoul. "I... I simply try to be honest, really. You're fun to talk to and comfortable to be around." A gentle nod was given to punctuate his statement. "And we both like fashion! It's always good to have a common like, yes?"

His sense of confusion rose as she seemed to understand and not scold him for not liking his form, as he was used to getting. But Lizzy was truly too kind to yell or scold anyone, least he thought so. "I do recall him.." Tilting his head a bit, he scratched lightly at a cheek before he recalled the face of the one she spoke of and the snake and he nodded. "That's right.. he did have a lovely looking snake. I only caught a glimpse but the pure white did catch my eye. I'm not used to seeing such a light colored snake. Hmm.. maybe. Who knows what could happen in the future. It's possible we could grow to.. tolerate our forms at the very least, yes? Til then.. we can keep it a secret." He couldn't help his grin at that. To keep secrets was the basis of his life.. but this was a good secret. A secret to share with someone else...

What a nice feeling... odd to say.

[NOW, TO PUSH THIS RP TO PROGRESS A BIT. xD]

"I can't wait!" She giggled before going silent again, tilting her head as she listened; no friends? She couldn't help frowning slightly at the thought. However, if the demons surrounding Livi back home were anything like some of those she met in the parties she had to attend with her mother... Yup, its better not to befriend people like those. Part of her was somewhat glad she didn't need to attend those parties often; its hard to enjoy yourself when there are a million things to worry about 'doing or saying' wrong.

"Its never too late to start making friends," She smiled, nodding before her smile widened at his compliment, blushing again, "I appreciate the honesty! I understand that there might be things you're not comfortable telling anyone, but... Some times, having someone listen can help take some of the frustration away! And of course! Having a common interest does help~" They talk more about other things though, which made her surprisingly happy.

Another nod followed before she chuckled, "Indeed... When that day comes, you'll be the first to know!"

The carriage slowed to a stop at the side of the road; to the left was a row of shophouses. Nobody lives in them anymore, and they had all been preserved and renovated to serve merely as shops; while the architecture of each varied, the one they had stopped beside had an almost Victorian feel to it. While the color scheme was rather dark, the light from within the store was surprisingly warm. The sign that hung outside wrote 'Baines' Clothing Store', and it was clearly the shop that they had set out to visit.

"We're here!"

The driver called out as the carriage slowed to a stop. He was opening the door immediately after, offering a hand out to Lizzy as she climbed off before bowing at Livi, "Enjoy yourselves... I think the madam is quite excited." He chuckled before closing the door and making his way to attend to the skeletal horse, patting its side, "I'll be waiting outside here in the meantime, Ms Lizzy, Mr Livi."

Lizzy caught herself staring at the entrance of the store with a grin on her face; it wasn't until she heard someone addressing her that she turned around, still grinning, "Thank you! I promise we won't make you wait too long!"

Turning to Livi, her grin widened as she walked towards the double doors, holding onto the handle, "Ready? We're not that big as establishment, as you can see, but... I think its a warm place. You'll enjoy yourself, I'm sure!"

[Lol it'd also go faster if I wasn't such a slacker >> *kicks rl into behaving*]

His smile didn't fade as she spoke, since he could feel her honesty in them. It wasn't too late, he supposed, as he was slowly getting used to those around the school. Slowly but surely. Certainly, important things didn't need to be rushed, right? "Very true indeed." And though he was listening, he was gazing out the window. Since this would be a new area for him to be seeing so he was curious. In the back of his mind, he wanted to make a map of the place so he could try to come back sometime later. Contact could be made here, yes indeed.

The first sight of the Clothing shop made him grin, as he liked the ambiance of the place immediately. Very nicely situated and it was more than obvious that the business was loved and cared for. Beautiful. Simply so. As the carriage came to a soft stop and they were spoken to, he smiled more and tipped his head in thanks to the carriage driver. "Thank you, sir!" It was then that he wished he had something to give the man in thanks for his wonderful service, but he didn't have anything proper on him. It slightly irked but he let it go as he climbed out after Lizy, straightening his outfit a bit as he straightened.

Her enthusiasm was infectious as he caught himself returning it. "I can't wait! I've been ready since you first mentioned the store! I find myself.. eager to meet your mother." And normally, he wasn't keen on such things but Lizzy made her sound very personable. And he really did wish to see if it was possible for mothers to be kind, loving and generous to their children.
