Classes were done for the day, and as usual, Jericho found himself feeling a little on the peckish side. It was about prime time for him to swing by the cafeteria to grab something light to hold him over until dinner. A part of him didn't really want to go, as he was craving something more fresh to snack upon. Cafeteria food was hardly fresh, especially since he was rather accustomed to hunting down prey.
As if someone had heard his mental desires, his eyes caught a bit of movement not too far off. Focusing on it, the dragon saw an orange and white hamster-like creature nibbling away at a pumpkin seed. Quickly, he looked about to see if the kushi-kushi could be someone's pet, but as far as he could tell, no other students were in the area. The little minipet was practically bite-sized too! With a little roasting, it would make the perfect snack.
Then again, he never ate a Kushi before, so for all he knew it could taste horrid. But it had meat, so it couldn't be that bad.
Inching closer, he tossed out a couple regular pumpkin seeds that he happened to carry at the time. The creature, seeing this, quickly scurried over to start greedily stuffing them into its cheeks. With a grin, the dragon practically pounced onto it, snatching the critter in his hands.
"Got you," he said deviously.

"Drop." The words were a harsh command issued from a figure nearby, a mound of sand that seemed to shift as whatever was beneath it moved. A dark red arm, nearly orange-red, pulled itself from the pile and was soon followed by a head sporting a large mask and blonde hair. Savior had been taking a nap amongst the shade, watching the local kushi-kushi population play around, and she'd been in a state of almost-asleep when a familiar squeak caught her ears and woke her up. While none of these Kushi belonged to Savior she certainly didn't like to hear them unhappy. "Drop."
The Marrowstripe was soon free from her sandy blanket, her torso shaking as she got off the last bits that clung to her skin. Her pale eyes did not look too pleased at the unhappiness of the little creature in the strangers hands and she strolled over rapidly, the space between them drawn in half with only a few strides.

Before Jericho could do anything else with the squirming critter, he heard an odd voice coming from somewhere nearby. He didn't immediately see anyone, but an unfamiliar female figure soon showed herself from beneath a mound of sand. At first, he wasn't convinced that the voice had come from her, but she spoke once more and that solidified that tidbit.
The girl didn't appear to be very happy that he had the Kushi-Kushi in his grasp, which made him wonder if it was her minipet.
"What, is this yours or something?" he asked with a frown, keeping a rather firm hold on the hamster which was squeaking frantically as it tried to escape. If it didn't turn out to be hers, there really wouldn't be anything to stop him from continuing on with his previous plans.

"Mines? No." Savior paused in her walking as she was asked a question though the speed with which she answered actually made the monster a little proud. She was understanding more and more what people were saying to her, even if it was only through context, but that little bit was enough for now. "Drop Kuchi." She probably would have liked to add anyway to the end of that sentence but it wasn't a word she knew just yet, or even if she did know it she didn't know how to use it in a proper sentence.
The sounds of distress from the kushi-kushi in the stranger's hands still made Savior uneasy even though she'd done the same exact thing to more than her fair share of the little creatures. It was only because of Tsetsiliya showing her that they shouldn't be squeezed that she'd sort of stopped though it didn't really save some of them that got a little too much 'love' from the monster.

Her words were simple, which had Jericho a bit curious, but he soon just narrowed his eyes as she insisted on him dropping the hamster. The dragon wanted his snack, and he was going to go ahead and eat it since it was just a wild kushi anyway.
"I'm not going to drop it. I caught it. It's my prey," he frowned while stepping away from her. Sure, the Kushi was distressed right now, but he'd put it out of its misery soon enough. So he didn't see what the big deal was with this.
However, he did end up letting go of the Kushi-Kushi... though only to toss it high into the air. While the creature was airborne, he took in a breath and unleashed a stream of flame to try and roast it in one go.

Savior's pale eyes drew wide as she watched the kushi get tossed into the air, its terrified shrieks echoing inside her hollow bones, and it was with a guttural and gravely sounded grunt she launched herself forward and into the stranger. The weight of her body and the strength she possessed as a monster was just enough to move him before he shot off the blast of flame; it blew past the kushi and into the air. For its part the little creature was falling and Savior did her best to catch it, her body jumping at an awkward angle to get the minipet in her hands. They landed together on the ground, hard, and Savior groaned before trying to roll herself off her side and back up.
For all her efforts the kushi had died in her grasp, the animal so small that the sudden impact had snapped its neck. The smell of its body slowly starting to turn off caused the monster to groan and she tossed the broken kushi away from her as far as he arm could throw. Having its blood on her hands was another story and that didn't bother her.
"Youse. Killed kuchi." Savior's tone was very much accusatory as she turned to look at the stranger, not caring if he was still on the ground or back on his feet. She was ignoring (rather easily) the pain that was radiating from her wrist, a result of her awkward landing.

Focused on cooking his after-school snack, Jericho did not expect the stranger to launch herself at him. With a grunt, he hit the ground fairly hard, stunning him for the time being. There was no scent of burning flesh so he could at least assume his flames had missed.
Groaning, he pushed himself back to his feet and glared at the other monster. Apparently the hamster had died anyway. Most likely, it was from the girl catching it the way she did. Being shoved off like that stirred his anger, and her accusation didn't help that feeling much at all. Plus, he was hungry, which only added to any existing irritation.
"Technically you did there," he huffed, "Now since it's dead, could you just hand it over so I can finally eat it? Don't make me catch one of the other ones running around here."

"No." Savior wasn't even going to pretend she would go after the kushi that she tossed away, its body something she couldn't get close to. The creature hadn't entered rigor mortis yet and therefore was still approachable as far as her body and senses would allow yet there was something about letting this stranger eat the kushi that the Marrowstripe did not like nor approve of. Cute things like the kushi just weren't meant to be food for others!
The fact that she had caused its death meant nothing to her since well. . . it happened a lot. She'd mourn over it later, if she could remember to. "No kuchi for youse."

"FINE. I'll get it myself then."
Growling lowly, Jericho made his way over to get past the stranger so he could fetch the body. The scent of citrus was heavy in the air, though that didn't do anything to entice his hunger more. Fruits and vegetables were not on the menu for him all that often. In fact, he rarely ate those things. He didn't really get why the scent was as strong as it was, but he guessed this girl just ate a LOT of it or something along those lines.
Grumbling, he just tried to ignore her as he bent down to pick up the tiny carcass. She might have killed it, but the thing was still his prey. It would have died by his fire if she hadn't shoved him over like that.

"Said no!" There came a rough push from behind as Savior knocked the stranger away from the deceased kushi's body, her stance over it but not close enough to it to make her uncomfortable. The monster stood and splayed her hands out, taking a defensive position; she clearly was not planning on letting the dragon have the kushi even if it was his by right. Trivial things like that didn't matter when the person in question couldn't understand basic systems of ownership. "No kuchi for youse!"
For the record, Savior wasn't even agitated, she wasn't even the slightest bit upset. The kushi was dead and that was that, but she didn't like the idea of it being eaten. Marrowstripes very seldom killed for food, females more so than males, so she didn't understand that someone could actually be hungry and have killed something for the point of eating it. Savior usually killed anything that threatened her and only ate it if it was another Marrowstripe.

The girl might not have been agitated, but Jericho definitely was. Being pushed back again, another growl emanated from within his throat as his patience was being tried. Shifting his wings in frustration, he went on to try and shove her out of his way.
"Get out of my way!" he barked out as he did so. His fists would likely start flying pretty soon.
The dragon didn't understand why she was being so protective over the Kushi carcass. It wasn't her pet, and it was now dead. If he didn't eat it, something else was bound to do so eventually.

"No." Savior's voice was calm, collected. Her stance did not change, at least not outwardly, but the Marrowstripe was poised should the boy before her decide to push at her. It wasn't too much longer that she could stand and defend the little body before she had to abandon her spot, but for now Savior was at least holding her ground. "No kuchis. Not yoars."
The shove had done little to make Savior move but she had grabbed a hold of one of his hands as it came towards her to push her over. With a grunt she snapped one of the fingers she had managed to get a hold of, but the same could be said of her own. The motion to break his finger had caused some pressure on her wrist, the small hollow bone inside fracturing with stress. Savior either didn't feel it or didn't register it, as she released the dragon's hand and stared back at him.

"I caught it. IT'S MI-AUUUGH!"
The dragon let out a roar of pain as he felt something in his finger snap... most likely the bone. Staggering back to clutch his hand, he stared as his index finger was definitely broken. It hurt like hell, but that only seemed to enrage him for the time being.
"DAMN YOU!" he boomed while turning towards her again. Once his eyes had settled onto her, he unleashed another jet of flames from his jaws, looking to get some payback onto this stranger.

There had been a few moments of delay in Savior's mind that prevented her from realizing she needed to move to get out of the way of the flames, though it took her less time to actually do it the moment she felt the skin on the side of her face start to burn and the smell of roasting hair invaded her nostrils. She let out a small shriek as she dropped down and slapped at the side of her head, her hand putting out what little flame dared to lick up on her cheeks. She was more startled than in pain and she looked at the boy with wide eyes, her posture set to where she was still over the kushi's corpse but she was now on all fours.
The scent of burned skin and a sharp pain echoed in Savior's mind and nose, two of the only facts that she was now aware of. Touching the side of her face only yielded more and a thin sliver of anger washed over the Marrowstripe's emotional state. She was pretty much confused over why this person was getting so unhappy about not being allowed to eat the kushi but her lack of common sense didn't just tell her to let him have the body and everything would be all over. Instead she simply held her position and looked up, the side of her face aching.
" . . . . . " She didn't say anything as she got to her feet and splayed her fingers once more, this time taking what looked to be a more specific fighting stance. It actually wasn't, but Savior was only moving to be comfortable - her head and face hurt, after all.

It may have not been a direct hit, but Jericho didn't really care. He still managed to burn her a little in the very least. Gritting his teeth, his right hand twitched in pain as he stared at the girl who seemed to be standing in a fighting stance of sorts.
"You wanna rumble? That's fine with me!" he snarled as he lunged forth. There was no way he was going to be punching with his right, so he lashed out with his left fist instead. His aim was right for her face, though not necessarily the burnt area. He mainly just wanted to deck her and get her out of his way since she still seemed rather intent on protecting the little creature.
