Sailor Asclepius paced slowly back and forth across the roof of her father's garage, head tilted back and hands on her hips as she studied the stars overhead. Or at least the ones visible with the light polution of the city. Rapidly moving shreds of cloud promised a turn for the windier later that night, but the brown-haired senshi was fairly sure she could guiltlessly call her patrol complete fairly soon. She had a quiz in her early class the next morning, and, while it was not something she saw reason to worry over, she still wanted to make sure she was not dragging herself in to class like a zombie.
After a few minutes, the girl moved to the railing on the edge of the roof overlooking the street and climbed onto it, sitting down carefully on the bottom rail and resting her arms on the top. And then arranged all of her skirts to ensure modesty just in case someone happened to be down below looking up. So far, the man stealing her father's car was about the worst thing she had run into since the mosquitoes, and Asclepius half-wondered if there were indeed "as many senshi as there were stars in the sky", if there really needed to be all that many.
She sighed, resting her chin on her hands on the top bar, and glanced up and down the street for signs of anything suspicious.

What the dark skinned senshi was unaware of, currently, was that a negaverse lieutenant was skulking through the streets looking for victims to drain energy from. The blue and pink clad teen was finally making due on his energy quotas of the week, in fact he had been largely successful so far and he could feel the orbs clinking against each other as he moved.
He wore a confident grin on his face as he swung his flamingo weapon back and forth. His amber eyes scanned the area around him coolly as he scoped out his next potential target. His past targets had been women, because he could be quite the charmer, and it appeared that his next target would be a woman too.
As he approached her from behind he found that the communication crystal he kept in his other pocket was glowing a light color indicating that a senshi was nearby. His grin only widened as he slid behind the woman. "Don't scream," he whispered in her ear as he placed both hands on her shoulders.
Of course the first thing she did was scream, but that was exactly what he wanted her to do.

Asclepius felt a chill as something moved behind her, and realized right about the time she heard words whispered in her ear that she had not been paying quite enough attention.
With a short shriek, the girl caught her heels on the edge of the roof and slid herself between the bars on which she had been sitting, ending up on a narrow part of roof between the rail and the edge of the building. Ordinarily this would have made her scream more, but Asclepius had learned she was much more nimble powered up like this, and was getting used to just how close she could stand to ledges.
... Though she was not at all confident in her ability to fight from this place. Or at all yet, really.
"Who are you?" she demanded, now fully cognizant of the feeling of negative energy from the stranger who had snuck up on her. He had to have been one of the Negaverse she had been told about. Complete with a decidedly ridiculous weapon. And now she would have to battle him, presumably. The Senshi of Medicine kept one hand on the rail and the other clenched into a fist, hoping she would be able to do this properly. Hopefully it would give her an edge, that she had run into a guy with a flamingo instead of a guy with a gun or something.

Though the senshi could not see it, the negaverse lieutenant was smirking as a hand slid from her shoulder to her neck, fingertips grazing her skin as he leaned forward so his voice was in her ear, "does it matter?" His tone had a teasing sound to it as he inclined his chin towards her face unaware of her clenched fist.
"All you need to know is that I'm here to free you," he told her, his voice no longer a whisper as he pulled his head back away from hers as weighed his weapon in his free hand. She probably had no idea what his words meant and frankly he didn't care. He never liked senshi, with the exception of the corrupted ones though he didn't actually consider them corrupted. "Let's make this easy and with little resistance," he asked his tone almost pleading.
He had no qualms about fighting, it was almost second nature to the teen, especially if he had no attachments to his opponent but at that moment he preferred to not fight. "Really, it would be for the best."

Asclepius shivered at the touch and shied away, and grimaced at the stranger like he had just sprouted a tentacle or something. The dark feeling coming from this young man told some deep instinctual part of the senshi that he was, indeed, from the Negaverse; the fact that he was being an utter creep felt like a much more immediate justification for punching him out or something.
"Free me from what?" she asked, moving down the narrow bit of roof between the rail and the edge to put some distance between the two of them. If she was the senshi of mace, this would have been over already. But, well, with his pleading, maybe she could try to get him to give up a little more information. Either he really did not want to fight, or he was trying to get her guard down.
She had gotten dreadfully little instruction on all of this apparently large-scale war, so any information was welcome to Asclepius.
Keeping a careful eye on the flamingo, she asked him again, "What do you want from me? I'm feeling pretty free already right now." Er, good thing her heel had not just nearly slipped from the edge of the roof.

He faked a sigh, as if he really cared about the senshi. Slowly a wicked grin crossed his lips. "Free you from plaguing earth," he snicked behind her allowing space to come between them easily. "You want to know what I want?" He asked arching a brow as he strolled oh-so casually towards her, swinging his lawn flaming from the base freely.
"What I want is to see you, and every single one like you," he snapped thoughts drifting to the few corrupted senshi he knew, "baring some to get off of my planet and get back to where ever the hell you came from." Destiny City was his home, and while he chose to ignore it, home to the civilian identities to the senshi but earth was his planet. Their planet, the negaverse's and the senshi were nothing but alien intruders who needed to pack their bags and leave.
As far as he was concerned, they had no business being on earth. "So be a good girl and leave," his words were pointed and while he wore his wicked grin his eyes narrowed into a dark glare just as he swung the pointed beak at the dark skinned girl.

"Wait, what?" He was the one who felt like the monster. The Negaverse were the ones who had made those giant mosquito things, which Asclepius knew had killed someone. Whatever power had been given to her, it was not evil; the brown-haired girl would not have accepted it if it had seemed that way.
Though a small part of her mind reminded her that it really had also not seemed like she had had much choice in the matter.
Besides, where would she go? Marcella had lived on Earth her whole life, obviously, and saw no reason at all why she would have to change that now that she was also Asclepius.
... Of course, this bout of confusion meant that the senshi responded belatedly to the attack. Asclepius moved to block it, but between not really being sure how and not doing so quickly enough, the ridiculous weapon of the Negaverse agent left a rather painful bruise on her forearm, and knocked the limb rather uncomfortably into her side, as well.
Asclepius backed away again, holding up her other arm in case he decided to try it again, and then hopped over the railing onto the roof proper, so she would have more room to get around.
No time for doubt now, she had to take this guy out. She clenched her fists and waited to see what he would try next.

He didn't respond to her question instead he only released a soft sigh and let her back away from him even as he swung, wildly, at her. As she turned to flee, jumping over the railing the young lieutenant followed her easily hoping over it as it was second nature. Which, it really was if she knew what his civilian life was like. He landed a few feet away, a scowl on his face when he saw her clenched fist.
"Not going to make this easy will you?" He shook his head, almost sadly, as he advanced on the dark skinned senshi. "Very well then, I might as well enjoy it," he told her, a dark grin spreading across his lips. No matter what the situation, Labyrinthite always enjoyed a good fight, which he hoped the senshi could provide.
He dashed forward, swinging his plastic flamingo with one hand, aiming at her arm, while his other hand was curled into a fist prepared for a follow up punch.

This time, she was better prepared for blocking the flamingo. Asclepius was even preparing a return punch of her own when his other fist collided with her ribs.
She staggered back, gasping in short little breaths that hurt. Glaring at him, while she tried to recover, Asclepius mentally cursed at herself. Perhaps she was not quite ready for this ... though obviously it was a bit late to just back down now.
After taking a moment to recover, Asclepius rushed at him, aiming with a low punch. Even if it connected, though, the brown-haired girl was a bit hesitant to put too much force behind the hit - in spite of the evil feeling coming from this Negaverse agent, he still looked human, and the Senshi of Medicine had not had a violent upbringing by any stretch of the imagination.

Perhaps the lieutenant should have been grateful that he had come across a senshi with little to no fighting experience. Instead he was busy riding the high of the adrenaline that rushed through him as his fist connected with the girl's abdomen. He had never liked senshi, even before he had joined the ranks of the negaverse. He hated them from the very beginning and was, in some ways, willing to do whatever it took them to force them to leave.
They weren't welcome here, he didn't understand why they could not understand that. Of course he himself did not know the full truth, instead he only knew what he had been taught and he was content with that knowledge. For now.
He had let his thoughts distract him as Asclepius's fist connected with his midsection. He let out a grunt bending forward slightly before he lifted his knee hoping to ram it into her stomach. He didn't think much of the distance that had been created when he slid back slightly.

Asclepius was not really fighting for anything in particular. Not yet. She had been told that the Negaverse were her enemies, she felt the unsettling sensation of darkness from this boy, and he had attacked her, but other than that, she bore no real grudge. She was not experienced in fighting others for any reason - really, while her regular life was filled with a striving for personal improvement, it was much more an intellectual pursuit. Physical competition usually seemed like a bit of a waste to the brown-haired girl.
The realization that she was not fully sure what she was doing was what distracted Asclepius more than any thoughts for the moment on why she was a senshi, and so forth, though. She felt some surprise as her hit landed, and when she took another swing, there was not quite as much force behind it. Either way, her foe's blow contacted first, and Asclepius dropped to her knees, her hands folded over her stomach.
"Where am I supposed to go, if not here?" she demanded, voice a bit strained from the pain in her midsection. "Do they tell you people that we're aliens or something?"

"It's a fact," he retorted coldly as she hit him pathetically. It was weaker than her first punch. "You aren't from the earth so you shouldn't be here," he repeated clenching his fists tightly as she fell to her knees. He stood, towering above her with a dark expression. "The senshi on our side understand that, they're trying to show you that when they fight on our side," his thoughts flashed to the Corrupt Sailor Alkaid.
As much as he hated senshi he couldn't hate her, nor the other corrupted senshi on their side. Many were more lost than the senshi fighting for 'love and justice'. Justice was in the eye of the beholder and the Lieutenant was fighting for his own justice. He was in the wrong to the senshi and the senshi were in the wrong to him.
"I'm tired of talking," he told her raking a hand through his pink hair. He seemed to pause, weighing his weapon in his hand, before he moved to strike her again.

Asclepius had encountered one of the corrupted senshi as well, and they confused her. But then her seifuku had not exactly come with an instruction manual. Fighting bad guys had seemed straightforward enough, but it seemed like all of her challenges so far had been unusual ones in the grey areas. At least she got to learn that lesson quickly.
Still, though, the senshi of Medicine was not about to just allow herself to get beaten up. As the throbbing pain in her middle started to subside, she started to get to her feet; doing so aggravated the forming bruise on her abdominal muscles, though, and she had to remained doubled over for a moment even once she was standing again. Asclepius backed away, hoping to keep enough distance between her and her opponent while she willed her stomach to quit aching enough to just finish this fight.

Each side thought that the other side was the bad guy. Unlike the movies, comic books and TV shows it was not obvious who was in the right and who was in the wrong. Even in history, or rather the way it was taught, it was clearer who was right and who was wrong. Lieutenant Labyrinthite knew what side he stood on and who he disliked. He knew what he believed in and he'd do what he had to in order to eliminate what he considered to be the enemy.
He scowled at her even as she backed away. He easily could have assaulted her while she stood doubled over, could have gone after her starseed even but instead he stood intimidatingly before her waiting. "Is that all you've got?" He mocked advancing on her. He didn't swing at her, only moved forward his expression as dark as the energy aura he gave off.

She lifted her head enough to glare back, then managed to stand straight.
"No," Asclepius replied, raising her hands and clenching them into fists again. Maybe it really was, though; it ached to breathe and she was not sure she had been able to do any damage to her opponent just yet. Was the pain in her features too obvious? Were there bruises on her arms appearing yet?
The Senshi of Medicine hoped not, and took a deep breath before stepping in with a fist powering forward, hoping to at least wipe that look off his face. If she could just land one more hit, she could hopefully avoid too much embarrassment. Just had to keep her confidence up and not look frightened, and just go for it!
