So I was really bored yesterday, and I was surfing Etsy for clothes (even though I'm broke) there are a lot of awesome dresses, coats and skirts on that site. But, these things are really expensive!! Like into the hundreds of dollars for just one piece. So somehow this led me to go into the basement and check my scrap pile for something I could make a skirt with. I found two newish sleeveless shirts that were ugly and waaay too big on me. So I brought them upstairs and tore them apart and made this cool skirt. I no longer have a sewing machine, so I did all of the sewing by hand. I also didn't use a pattern since I already know how to make a pleated skirt and I'm waay too impatient for patterns most of the time. I estimate the time it took me to make this at about 5 hours. But I also took a few procrastination breaks and a sleep break during that time, so how long it actually took is anyone's guess. Without further ado:

Scrap piles are awesome if you have no money for cool clothes, lol.

Thank you! I will for sure update this thread with a how to when I get internet at my new place, but I can't right now because I'm moving in the morning and still not ready. You probably could especially if they're cotton because it's breathable.

That's basically it.

I will post a how to when I get some more scraps and a new sewing kit, that way there will be pictures. I meant to take some when I was making this skirt, but my mind was in a million places at the time.

I'm terrible with sewing machines, I always end up breaking them. Now that I've moved, I need to start up a new scrap pile. I had a lot of scraps back home because my mom and her friends would always give me their old clothes and while the thought is nice, I am a large at most, not a 3x so I don't know what they were thinking. Made for great scraps though.
