A strange male B'alam was laying next to a pond that was in the middle of the jungle. The water was crisp, cool, and clear. He absently traced his paw on the top of the water, remembering times long past. The times of when the elder was just a cub. His tail swished lazily back and forth, the fluff on the tip of it making it look more like he was fanning himself. He looked down into the water, examining his appearance which had changed soo much since then. He had a long flowing mane of auburn hair that circled his head and his ears were much longer and narrow, cupped to prevent the harsh winds of the mountains from hurting his hearing. He mused a little on how he looked like a cross between some sort of bird and a B'alam. He had tried to go back into culture a little while ago, but backed down, worried about how the humans and other B'alams would view his new appearance. Though he hoped that one day he would get enough guts to return to the life that he enjoyed as a cub.
The male mused for a little bit longer until a noise roused him from his reverie. He got to his feet and looked in the direction that the noise was coming from, waiting...((I figured since it was my suggestion, I would start. If we figure out a better name for the thread at a later time, I'll change it.))

Wandering through the trees, the female contemplated things idly to herself. She has yet to see another Balam much like herself. True, there were some that had wings much like hers, but none had a beak. This had made her wonder if there was something wrong with her, or if she was a breed of her own, or if she was the last of her kind. She surely hoped not, that would be sad... and lonely. With a sigh, she continued to trek onward through the trees.
After some time, Falora spotted a clearing in the distance through the trees. Possibly finding a place to rest and, hopefully, something to drink, she moved toward the clearing. Unaware of the male that was up ahead, she moved though the brushes, causing them to rustle lightly. The leaves under her paws also rustled and cracked as she stepped on them, moving closer and closer with every step.
[-I will get her cert later-]

He debated with himself, wondering if he should run off into the brush and watch the creature that was approaching him first, just so he wouldn't startle them with his strange appearance. The elder male then shook his head. No, if he was ever to return to the civilized world, he would have to face up to someone sometime, might as well start now.
At first, the only thing he saw was pink. Lots and lots of pink. But then as the creature came out of the treeline he noticed that it was a female, and that she was another B'alam like himself. Though also like himself, she was different. He had long flowing hair that was held back in a braid, and the most interesting feature of all was the yellow beak that replaced the normal muzzle. He tilted his head to one side, marveling at this. Not bothered by the other's appearance, because he knew that he didn't resemble a normal B'alam by any means. His strange mane of hair around his head, the tuft on his tail, and his elongated muzzle and ears made him an interesting sight to behold.
The male then righted his head and smiled a little. Not in a mocking or provocative way, but just a happy smile. Though he chose not to talk yet, not until she noticed him and said something first.

She kept walking, having yet noticed the other. It was as more of the clearing ahead came more into view, so did the one currently standing in it. Spots on a burgandy colored pelt was the first thing she noticed, followed by the size. It was male by what she could tell from this fact, the scent she was catching also told her this fact. Taking a few more steps, other features were now starting to catch her eye. A dark, long mane graced the male's head and neck. But that wasn't really what caught her interest. It seems that this male also had an interesting muzzle, though different than her own, it was still sort of similar.
By what she could tell, the male had noticed her and with that, she stopped in her tracks. Her tail twitched lightly, contemplating whether or not to join him in the clearing, unknowing if he even wanted company or not. Her wings fluttered softly, but eventually, she figured it would be interesting to meet a fellow... how to put it nicely? A fellow magnificant creature? Yeah, that would work. With a small chirpy purr, she stepped forward into the clearing, revealing herself fully to the male. Out in the open, she eyed him boldly. "Greetings."
