It was the night after the Scarentine Party and Lizzy had begun to recover from her 'high'; being in the party, surrounded by friends and having to dance with a boil she had only met once prior to the party had caused her energy levels to rise... However, now that it was all over, she was pretty much back to normal and feeling rather worn out from all the excitement. As she laid on her bed, one arm curled around a sleeping Rosenthal, she was also starting to recall what exactly she did during - and immediately after - the party.
And realized that she had forgotten to do something.
Crawling up from her bed and still wearing her black nightgown, she yawned, sitting on the edge of the queen-sized bed before giving her limbs a good stretch. Then, she made a beeline for her desk and picked up her skelephone. Flipping it open, she started on a text to a friend: 'Hey Arachne! This is Lizzy, and I was wondering if you would be free to come down to my room in an hour's time to have that talk we spoke about during the party? x3'
Looking the text over one more time and feeling satisfied with it, she clicked the 'send' button before moving to her wardrobe, grabbing a towel and a change of clothes; one hour should be more than enough for her to get ready for a guest!

Arachne was awake, and had been for hours. She'd gone backwards a little since the party, worried that she'd exposed herself too much, that she had looked a fool when dancing and had generally gone too far. If Rosciel hadn't been such an a**..so now she'd stayed to herself again, just attending lessons and heading back to her dorm to do her homework, and practice reading cards and honing her ability.
She was laying out cards when her skelephone buzzed, vibrating along the top of the solid oak dressing table it was on. She picked it up, read the text and sat for a while, debating on how to answer. In the end she pressed a few buttons, sending a reply.
Sure. A.
Short, but to the point. She tidied up a little, forced a brush through her bobbed hair, and headed out the door of her dorm about an hour after receiving Elizabeth's text. She remembered the way from when she'd gone back there to be measured so that Elizabeth could sew something for her, and she wondered how that was going as she knocked on the ghoul's door.

In truth, one hour was barely enough for her to get herself freshened up and ready. She was blow drying her hair when Arachne knocked on her door, and would have missed it due to the noise if not for the fact that Rosenthal was hovering near the door knob, trying to catch her attention by waving at her reflection in the mirror. Immediately, her eyes widened in surprise and she turned the blow dryer off, placing it down on her dressing table.
"O-oh! Coming!"
Shaking her head and then running her fingers through her hair to fluff it up a little, she decided that it still looked rather messy. Frowning, she picked up a claw hair clip before pulling her hair back, folding it upwards and using the clip to secure her hair at the back. Brushing back her bangs, Lizzy smiled at her own reflection in the mirror; yes, much better! Rushing to her door, she patted Rosenthal and mouthed a 'thank you' before opening the door, peeking out.
"Evening, Arachne!" There was a smile on her face as she took a few steps backwards, opening the door in the process, "Welcome to my room! Just make yourself at home!" Of course, like most Demons in the Dorms, it was more than a room, fitted with a bathroom and a room for the skelevision, among other things. The only couch was in the room with the skelevision, however, and as if remembering that, Lizzy gestured to her bed with a sheepish smile.
"Do sit there! Sorry if its a little messy... I slept in today."

'Hello. Thank you.'
Elizabeth was ever cheery as usual, and Arachne wondered how the ghoul did it, how she managed to be so genial all the time. Not having a screwed up life probably helped but she forced the thoughts away and likewise forced a smile of her own. She did like this ghoul, and she did enjoy her company, and she wanted to keep one of the few friends she had made since being here.
She took a seat where Elizabeth indicated, perching on the edge of said bed, looking around as she did so.
'Slept in?' she echoed, not able to remember the last time she had done that, troubled mind and constant practice of her ability had left her paler than usual with faint rings under eyes.
'Late night then?'

Lizzy smiled as she closed the door, locking it to prevent any potential gnome-invasions, before making her way to Arachne and sitting down beside her. Perhaps Amrita had spoiled her with hugs and snugs (or it might be the other way round) but she gently took the ghoul's arm, hooking her own around the Spiderkin's with a small smile on her face. Now that she was close enough to get a closer look at her face, Lizzy noted how... Worn out the ghoul looked, and decided that she would probably need to be gentle.
It all came to her rather naturally though.
"Surprisingly late," She chuckled softly at the question, "What happened after the party was unplanned, but it was fun." Not that she could remember what exactly happened - just her passing out on her bed after... After... What did she do before passing out?
"Jericho saw me home - I think he was nudged into it though, seeing how he didn't think of seeing me to the party - and we had a good conversation," A nod followed as she slowly begun to remember the details - mainly her leaning on him in his dragon form - ohgoshwhathadshedone?! While her face flushed just a little, she managed to somehow not freak out as she continued, "He was just full of surprises!"
She then paused, turning serious as she pushed all the embarrassing Scarentine's memories to the back of her mind, "But enough of me... What about you? You were... Off during the party."
They might not exactly be close, but she could tell that there was something odd about the ghoul. Taking the hand of the arm she had hooked onto, Lizzy offered her what she hoped was an encouraging smile, "I'm willing to provide a listening ear, if you ware willing to share..."

Arachne stiffened as Elizabeth hooked her arm through her own, she was still unused to physical displays of affection, but she didn't pull away. It was..comforting, sitting there quietly for the moment, listening to the ghoul.
'Oh he did?' she asked, a sidelong glance taking in Elizabeth's heightened colouration and she gave a little smile. 'So I was right, there is something between you.'
She wasn't sure how she felt about this pretty demon ghoul forming a romantic relationship with a monster, but she knew that Elizabeth was open and friendly to all. Maybe she was a little jealous of her friend; it all seemed to be so easy for her.
'Really? I was myself I thought...' Which wasn't true, obviously, and she couldn't say the words with any form of conviction. She dropped her head, her hair falling either side of her face from under her hood.
'I didn't want to go to that party, not after the auction, not after..' she thought about the shouting match with Rosciel and shut her eyes. It was done, there hadn't been anything there beyond some foolish feelings on her part. It still sucked though.

"No, there isn't, really!" Eyes widened as she shook her head, although she was still obviously blushing, "We're merely friends, really! We're only met once before the party... A friend won him in the auction and asked him to be my date." At the word 'date', her blush darkened ever so slightly but that was mainly due to the fact that she had just realized that Jericho was her first date to anything, ever.
Charlie didn't count. If she had to describe that experience, it was like taking care of Jimmy, her "special" Reigndeer, or babysitting... Maybe a mixture of both.
She paused at Arachne's words, pulling her closer as she frowned slightly, giving the ghoul's hand a gentle squeeze, "You were not yourself..." She stopped herself from saying anymore as she just listened, not understand what had happened at the auction due to arriving there late - she allowed there to be silence between them for a while, however, taking it as a chance for Arachne to calm down before she spoke again, her voice soft as she gently nudged her friend using her words.
"Not after...?"

She raised her head again, pushing her hood back with her free hand, and looking at the ghoul beside her.
'If you say so.' Arachne wanted to tease Elizabeth further, but she didn't want to irritate the ghoul and wasn't sure if they were friendly enough for her to do so. She did think of saying, about the lady protest too much, especially as the ghoul's cheeks were still red in hue.
'No, I guess I wasn't.' It was a strange feeling, that someone had grown to know her, enough to observe when she was acting out of character. And comforting.
'I was stupid, acted out of jealousy I guess. There was this boil, Rosciel. I thought I liked him. Or something.' she let her feelings out in dribs and drabs, unused to sharing still.
'Anyway, he was bidding on Sin, and I didn't want that, she'd said there wasn't anything between them, and that I should go for it with him. Tell him how I felt etcetera. So I helped Christof win Sin's auction and afterwards.' she halted, remembering the argument, the harsh words. 'I ran into Rosciel, and he laid into me as if I'd done something far worse than just helping in a stupid auction, as if I'd done actual harm to somebody.'
She grew annoyed at just thinking about how cruel he'd been, balling her free hand in a fist on her lap before realising what she was doing, letting out a breath and relaxing her hand. 'I told him I'd done it because I liked him, but I hate him now. He treated me as if I was the lowest of the low.'

Admitting that there was something wrong was the first step, and Lizzy smiled a little. When Arachne mentioned a boil, she couldn't help feeling surprised, as their first meeting had left her with the impression that the Spiderkin wasn't the type to fall for someone that easily; then again, it had been a while since they first met and there was plenty of time to get to know someone...
"Jealousy can be... Frightening," She didn't understand, and she won't pretend to understand what its like to be jealous, but she was pretty sure it would cause people to act out of character. A pause followed as she shook her head, "I don't think that you were stupid - I mean, if anything, this must be pretty new to you... Liking someone, feeling jealous that his attention was on someone else... Not to say it was right to act out of jealousy, but I don't think you should beat yourself over it either."
Another pause followed as she listened quietly, taking in the events of the auction prior to her arrival, nodding once in a while to show that she was listening. Her hand patted Arachne's when she sensed her agitation; he must had been really harsh towards her, to cause such emotions! She looked rather upset at the thought of a boil being harsh towards a ghoul who had just confessed to him, but her expression soon softened, looking thoughtful for a moment.
Her voice was soft as she continued, "Sin might see him as just another boil, but perhaps he saw her differently? If anything, his harsh words and actions towards you might be the result of his frustration at losing the chance to know Sin better..." In other words, if Arachne had acted out of jealousy, that boil - Rosciel - probably acted out of frustration due to the same reason of unrequited love... Or at least, that was her assumption and she was prone to being dramatic at times.
"Not to say he should be forgiven for treating you that way," She frowned lightly, "But hate is a strong word..."

'It was as if there was somebody on my shoulder, prodding me, whispering in my ear to do it. And then before I could think clearly it was done..' Arachne shook her head.
'I really did feel guilty afterwards, Rosciel had a face like thunder when he left the auction but I was just..well you know, jealous. Then. Now I'm almost glad.' She wasn't glad she'd gone behind Sin's back with the whole bidding thing, but it had seemed to work out, only causing Rosciel to jump down her throat.
'Maybe, but I'm ill equipped for these, those feelings.' she amended before continuing.
'Having him speak to me like that made me want to curl up and die. As it was I cried, and I never do that.'

"What's done is done..." She nodded, continuing to pat Arachne's hand as she offered the ghoul a small smile, "Don't dwell on it for too long, alright?" From the way the Spiderkin was talking, Lizzy figured that she probably wasn't used to talking about her feelings... Well, time to change that then! Its never good to bottle things up... Having her admit how she felt was a good first step!
"The hurt won't go away for a while, I imagine..." Her voice was soft and gentle as she wrapped her arms around her friend's shoulders, pulling her in for a much needed hug. Closing her eyes, she continued, "But at least you won't be going through this alone... I'm glad you're opening your heart to me. Confessing your feelings take great courage, and I'm proud that you did it, regardless of the outcome..." She wished that she could say the same for herself, really.
"Oh! How about you sleep over here tonight?" She suggested, her smile widening as she released Arachne, scooting back a little to pat her bed, "There's more than enough room! We could stay up to talk, maybe watch a few films on the skelevision... I still need to show you the sketches for that dress I promised to make you as well! So, what do you say? It'll be fun!"

'Humiliation..' Arachne murmured. That was more what it was; if she'd been able to manipulate time and go back and not make the confession to Rosciel she would have.
She leaned on Elizabeth, allowing herself to be comforted for once. She'd not had this since she was a little ghoul, a toddler on her Mother's knee, her long hair being plaited as they waited for her father to return. When he hadn't, she'd taken scissors to Arachne's hair, snipping the long red waves into a bob before her Grandmother had stopped her. Arachne knew that her mother had done it out of grief and rage, and she'd kept cutting it ever since as the sight of it long would send her mother into a depression.
'You're easy to talk to.' she admitted, sitting up straighter and looking at the bed. She'd never slept over a friend's..it might be nice. 'Okay.' she gave a little nod. 'I don't have anything with me though.'

"Really? That's good to know!" Her expression softened considerably as she shook her head, feeling rather pleased as she held onto the ghoul's hand again, "Well, we could go grab a bite first and drop by your room to grab your overnight stuff before coming back?" Spending a whole day with Arachne sounds like good ghoul bonding time to her!
"Besides, all you need is a comfy pillow, a few snacks and a good friend~ I have everything we need right here now!" She giggled, bouncing off the bed, tugging gently the hand gripped firmly in hers; it was warm and nice...
"But for now, lets grab a bite at the cafeteria?" She poked her current hairstyle thoughtfully; she would have to deal with it for now... She'll fix it later. There were more important things to do now!

'Sure, sounds like a plan.' Arachne replied softly, still with reservations about spending a night with anyone else other than herself but allowing herself to be swept along with the ghoul's enthusiasm.
'Okay.' she let Elizabeth pull her up, her stomach waking up to the idea that it might get some decent food for the first time in a few days, and growled quietly at her.
