It was a sunny Wednesday afternoon, absolutely stunning weather for February. It wasn't too cold, and the day made it feel like spring was just around the corner. It was almost the end of February, and by any calendar's standing spring was just around the corner with a little less than a month before. Most adults were still at work, but the Destiny City schools had just let out. Many children were flocking into the streets, many heading home. A few had other places to go. After school she usually went to the library to read a few books before dinner but this time she found her way down to the shopping district instead.
She had taken her time, enjoying the weather that was upon her. It was nice but she missed December when the snow fell from the sky so plentifully. It had danced down, and covered the streets and city with its white fluff. It had been so mysterious, and so beautiful at the same time. Not only that, but it had brought her friends as well, good friends. She tried her best to remember that, instead of what happened later. It was better that way. She thought of making little bunnies made of snow too.
She was full of winter thoughts and before she knew it she had stumbled into a petstore. Her eyes looked around with glee as she passed by the fish and the lizards, peeking into their glass cages as she passed by. She thought they were so cute, and was careful not to tap on the glass as the signs had displayed. There were birds, and even spiders. Of course, there were puppies and kittens, that most of the children seemed to flock to. Ainsley was different though, she found her way over to an area that displayed several dwarf bunnies in varying colours.
"Aw..." she said to the white plush bunny in her arms, holding him closer to the bunnies so that he could get a better look. "Aren't they cute?"

"Cute doesnt even nearly describe it." Serah appeared from behind the short elementary school-girl suddenly, one hand tucking pink strands behind an ear. She looked over, where the little girl was looking, towards the glass barrier to admire the bunnies hunched all in one large pile of fluff. Currently, they were the only two people on this section of the store, with the occasional staff member passing by. Serah didn't look remotely close to the graduated high school student she now was.. One could estimate.. early high school?
Perhaps if she wore maturer clothes, she might have been able to take on that impression. But no, the girl was in a simple vest and collared shirt outfit with her infamous bunny bag at her side. Her pink hair was tied in the usual side-ponytail, with a bracelet and a necklace here and there.
"Your bunny's adorable." Serah declared, thinking this this little girl had potential. A tremendous amount of potential when she grew up. Serah didn't even know her yet-- but she loved her fashion sense already.

The child hadn't been expecting anyone else in the bunny area of the pet store. Everyone was either looking at the puppies, or looking at the kitens. They were the most popular sections of the store, which was something Ainsley found difficulty understanding when there were bunnies. right. here. She couldn't say she didn't love puppies, or kittens -- after all, she loved Mr. Darrow's puppy Dogby and Santa Cat, Cora and Big Kitty -- but who could say no to such a cute animal with floppy ears all in the cutest pile ever? Regardless, the child made made a bit of a squeal from the surprise of another person behind her and slowly she turned around to see.
Her eyes went to the girl's pink hair first, and then slowly her eyes ran down to notice the outfit she had together. It didn't take long for her eyes to catch the bunny bag that was hanging at her side. She hugged her arms around her bunny plush Octavian Oswald as she admired it. She absolutely loved it and after hearing the compliment about her bunny she smiled with a 'Thank you,' before she added in a, "I love your bunny bag. It's so cute! I wish I had a bunny to carry things." She couldn't help but imagine carrying around her lunch inside of it: sliced carrots.

"I know! Isn't it sweet?" Serandite held her bag, tugging it forward for the little girl to admire. She bent down, to match her eye level with the little girl, extending her hand forward in a handshake. She bent down slowly and silently, mindful of the skittish rabbits in the glass tank before them.
"I'm Serah, your neighborhood bunny lover. It's a pleasure to meet you and your bunny." Serah said solemnly. Meeting another bunny lover was a serious event-- especially when she was so adorable. She was vastly different from little Ainsley though, her bunny bag was stuffed to the brim with packaged candy rather than carrots. Serah didn't like carrots at all.
Healthy food was never in Serah's preferences.

"It is very," she agreed as the bag was brought forward in Serah's hands. Ainsley didn't waste a moment to admire it more in detail, her small hands reaching out to touch the soft fabric before it met Serah's hand in a handshake. Her handshake wasn't very strong but her enthusiasm made up for that. She smiled, looking at Serah who was now at her own level. "My name is Ainsley," she said with a grin as she held out her bunny Octavian Oswald. "This is Octavian Oswald, he's a prince! We are happy to meet you."
Her plush bunny drawing back against her body again, the child's eyes couldn't help but be drawn towards the glass tank and the bunnies inside. Several of them were huddled in a pile at the back napping but there were two, more ambitious bunnies, hopping around curiously. Oh, how she wished she could take them home! More eager to watch, the child began leaning towards the glass.
"I just want to take them all home with me!"
