I am here at the behest of our captain Elyzia with a bit of news. She and the other powers that be are planning on making a bit of a change to the subforums, and she desires your feedback on the intended changes. The effected forums will be Burn Blogs, Entertainment Discussion, and Technology. The plan, as I understand it is to simply give the axe to Burn Blogs, altogether and while there are no plans to do away with Technology or the Entertainment Discussion sub-forums, they will be subject to so me alteration. Technology seems to be a little inactive, relatively speaking, for Elyzia's tastes, so she's thinking of expanding the purpose to include games, as well. This poses a bit of a redundancy issue, for much of the entertainment discussed in the Entertainment Discussion sub-forum would be comprised largely of computer and console games. Elyzia hasn't been wholly satisfied with how things have been in the Entertainment Discussion forum, as they are, anyway. So the question is, how would you like to see these or other sub-forums changed? What would you like to see done with them? The changes leave us one (and perhaps more, in the event of the above two merging) subforums. What should be done with it? We're looking for any and all new ideas, so let your voice be heard. -Matasoga, BURN Crew Member

I'm really sad to see the blogs go, especially since it was my idea for them to be added to burn. But whatever is beneficial for the guild n.n
Entertainment could probably contain both anime & technology.

Aww, I enjoyed reading people's blogs. D: I didn't make one since I'm not familiar with coding and making things super pretty. ;n;
But whatever happens with technology and entertainment seems fine, as long as they don't disappear.

I'm just the messenger, ladies. If enough people come out in support of it, though, and she starts seeing more activity, she may change her mind. The only thing that she cited as the problem in what I read was that they weren't active.

But whatever happens with technology and entertainment seems fine, as long as they don't disappear. Wow, I had no idea anybody ever really read other people's blogs. I always assumed that subforum was mostly ignored, since hardly anyone seems to create a blog or comment on other people's. Hmm. What I'm currently thinking of doing with the Technology subforum is expanding its focus in some way... Like, for example, changing it to "Technology & Gaming", or "Computer Games & Technology"... I honestly don't know what the best way to expand its focus is, though, or even if that's the best thing to do at all (since it would likely end up taking a bit away from the Entertainment subforum), but that's why it's so crucial that I get other peoples input & specific suggestions. As for Entertainment, I feel like it's active enough so that I don't want to turn it into something completely different, but I don't feel it's as active as it should be. I mean, I kind of wonder if it would be more active if I just changed the name to "Music, Movies, & TV" since even though that's a somewhat more limited topic than "Entertainment", just the word "Music" might catch more people's attention. I keep coming back to the idea of changing "Entertainment" to a subforum that's like the "You" subforum but focused on less serious & personal topics, like everything the Entertainment subforum already covers & more... Then I remember that we used to HAVE a subforum like that, & it didn't work out too well so we changed it to Entertainment, lol. So that subforum I feel might stay & might go depending on how much input this thread generates, since I personally can't figure out what the hell to do with it, & I don't know what people want to see happen with it.

Despite the disappointing inactivity of the Blogs subforum, I actually still consider it one of the best suggestions a Crew Member's ever had, primarily because it was just so incredibly original & creative, & also very much in line with what this guild is supposed to be about. That's actually why I've kept the subforum around for so long despite the inactivity; I loved the idea of it so much that I didn't want to get rid of it solely for that reason (& because I guess I wanted to give it as much of a chance as possible to become more active somehow). At this point, though, it just seems like it's as inactive as the Memorable Threads subforum (which is, of course, not supposed to be active in the slightest). If anyone suggests any ways in which the Blogs subforum could gain more activity, either through changes made to the subforum or some other way, then I'd certainly consider keeping it around if I thought there were ways to potentially make it more active.

Hmm..... I haveven't really explored burn that thuroughly, but I'm wondering if there is a sub-forum exclusively for gamers and computer oriented people already in exsistance.
Perhaps modifying the technoligy sub forum could give way for such social commings?

Perhapps modifying the technoligy sub forum could give way for such social commings? That's actually more or less exactly what I'd like the Technology subforum to become, & I think largely what it was supposed to be all along. One thing I've learned during the course of Burn's existence is just how crucial the name of a subforum is to the success of that subforum. I think "Technology" simply might have been the wrong name to express what I wanted that subforum to be about when I created it. What would be the most attractive & "all-inclusive" thing to chance the name to, though? I don't really know much about all that gaming & technology stuff, seeing as I'm really not a computer-oriented person, so I could really benefit from suggestions regarding potential new name ideas for that subforum from people who use terms like "gamers" xP

That's tricky. Something catchy and something that all gamers would immediately recognize.... I'd have to try to suggest.... .::Gamer's Rescourse::.??? That's all I can come up with, sadly. I've never really considered what type of videogame topic would attract my attention as a mild gamer.

God, I'm almost tempted to just name it "The Nerd Subforum", lmfao xP On second thought, EVERYONE on Gaia is a Nerd in some way or another, so THAT would just be redundant as hell blaugh Hmm... "Video Games, Computer, & Technology"? Maybe just sticking with something like "Gamer's Resource" is best.. only I feel like "Resource" is a bit misleading, 'cause at least when I think of "resources" I don't think of discussion, I think of things like links to information.

I know a giant fight broke out over Lady Gaga, because someone bashed her and all the fans in that forum got angry. Maybe people aren't posting as much because they feel like they can't express their opinion with out getting flamed or making others angry.
Or maybe I'm just thinking too hard about it.

A Holiday/Special Events subforum - Isn't that what the main forums are for? A Sports subforum - I think I've only see two threads in this whole guild that was sports related. A subforum that's similar to Gaia's new "Heaven" forum - good luck moderating that. A "b***h about your life" subforum / a subforum for rants - that's the you subforum summed up A homework help subforum - I've seen subforums for this & they don't get a lot of activity. A subforum for one-on-one counceling & advice - Nothing will ever be one-on-one.. & if you wanted that. Just make a thread for counselors so people can pm them if they want to talk. A fashion/style subforum - I can't really see this getting much activity.. though sometimes it does in all girl guilds. A subforum for threads you'd post in the main forum if we were like "normal" guilds & let you post there - thats the chatterbox xP Just keep the "Blogs" subforum instead of replacing it with a new one - up to yall ninja

WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL MY CREW MEMBERS & WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
... Seriously, that upsets me; I hate hate HATE owning a guild in which people ever feel too scared to express their opinions because of flaming. That goes against everything Burn is against.
There's at least one, almost definitely two or even three Crew Members who are assigned the Entertainment as their "Subforum Focus", meaning that its their job to make sure order is kept in that subforum & like, one more that they're assigned to, & that's it.
