Mokovu walked along the dirt path, it was so dry here and his mouth was equally as dehydrated. It has been a while since he had a decent sized meal or seen even a drip of water. He felt his eyes get hazy and his paws felt heavier as the day went on. The sun was at it's peek in the sky and it made Mokovu see things. He thought he had seen a small tree with a lake of water but it seemed to be all in his head.
He dwelled on his memories of his cubhood. When he never had to worry about water being scarce. It was prey that was scarce at home, cause water was everywhere. In the form of snow and ice, it made up his entire land. It was these faint memories that made him miss his home, and think about what he had lost in that terrible snow storm.
It was a few more moments of dreadful walking and growing temperatures that Mokovu saw a single small puddle of water. He almost didn't bother with it thinking it may to be a mirage. As he got closer the image didn't fade and his eyes lightened up as he realized it was water. He sprinted the rest of the way up to it and lapped at the water. It was fairly cold and felt good as it replenished his mouth and body.

Esche was feeling almost smug. He'd had a streak of hunting luck lately and seemed to be making off with rather good sized kills. In fact he was having such good luck, that he'd decided he needed to share it a bit with others. After all he wasn't that hungry, and surely there was someone close by who was. Esche knew what it was like to be nearly starved and it was not a feeling he'd wish on anyone.
It had been hard as a cub for Esche once his family died. He'd had to scrounge for food, often depending on the charity of others or resort to eating the leftovers of another animal's meal. There had been some days his belly ached so acutely that he'd wished he had joined his father and siblings in the fire. At least then he wouldn't be alone and hungry. But that had been a dark time and Esche wished to think about it no more. Instead he focused his energy on locating another to share his kill with.
The kill was hidden in a small cave, too small for Esche to fit in, but big enough to store the dead antelope. He began wandering a short distance away, scanning the surroundings for signs of other life. Finally his eyes fell on a white lion who was drinking from a pool of water. The other lion looked a little rough and from the way he was lapping up that water, hadn't had a good drink in a bit.
"Hello there." Esche greeted the other lion after padding into speaking distance. "You look like you were awfully thirsty." It was an obvious observation, but Esche never claimed to be very good at making conversation. All that time alone didn't really help him.

Mokovu felt relief with every lap of water, he was careful not to drink it too fast. He savoured evry lap and the refreshing feel of coolness down his dry throat. He even dipped his paws to cool them down from the hot earth he had been walking on for a few suns now.
The difference of this place and his memories of home as a cub was so different. Here is was always hot and dry, at home is was cool and cold. It made him miss those memories even more, he wished he had more memories.
Mokovu was brought out of his thoughts when another fellow lion approached. Mokovu eyed him carefully but he seemed to pose no threat so he dipped his head. The other male had cream markings and a grey mane. "Hello, yes indeed it has been a while. It seems the gods did not wish to share for quite some time." He said with a slight chuckle as he looked again to the male carefully. Most males he had met were quite friendly which shocked Mokovu. As a young cub and teen the males had been so aggressive and often were more hostile then friendly. However Mokovu was an adult now, he could fight his own fights.

Esche gave a chuckle to at the others words. He had experienced the gods feeling stingy for his fair share. "Hmm yes that seems to be a common dilemma unfortunately." Esche did his best to appear friendly as the other male looked at him. He most definitely had no interest in a fight and hoped this other male was the same way. Though this other male had given no indication he was interested in anything more then the water.
"My name is Esche by the way." He offered in hope that the other male would give his name as well. His tail flicked in contemplation a moment before he spoke again. "Since you're so thirsty, you might be hungry as well? I have a bit I can share if you'd like." Sometimes Esche found it was easier to cut to the chase rather then circle around it in conversation.

Mokovu was clearly enjoying another lions company. Especially a fellow male, it had been a while it seemed most rouges these days were females. He was keen to have this company and wished to maybe even become friends. this other male did not seem like a threat but you never knew, claws and teeth can come out fast. "A pleasure Esche, My name is Baridi Mokovu. but please call Me Mokovu"He said with a slight dip of his head in greetings. He was happy to hear the male continue to speak and even share food. He looked up slightly surprised at the generosity but did not refuse the kindness. "Thank you, I really appreciate it" He said with a smile as he looked upon the male. He was taken back a little by the kindness especially since food can be hard to come across at times. He also liked that this male was quick to the point not delaying chat.
"So where are you from?" He asked curiously as he moved a bit.
