The sun was rising, and Lolani was ready to go play for the day - before her mom or her siblings woke up and stopped her from heading out. She climbed up the rocks, and on the peak, jumped into the branches of the tree she usually started out her climbing in when she heard something behind her.

Li'ili'i la'au was heading out to climb some tress, he usually did. His name was little tree after all. As he was on his way he was shocked to see his sister Lolani ahead of him. He ran fast after her as she climbed the rocks onto the peak and jumped into the tree branches. "Hey Lolani!" He called after his sister as he pushed off the ground and clung to the tree. He used his claws to climb the bark until he safely got onto a branch that could support his weight. He sat down and looked at her curiously. He didn't know she usually got up this early too.
Li'ili'i la'au was probably found in the trees more then he was o the ground. it was somehting about heights that gave him this feeling he loved. like a rush, like one he would get when he ran with the wind. He loved those feelings they made his heart race and blood pump.

"What do you want, Li'ili? Be quiet or you'll wake mom up."
Lolani tended to be up in the trees as her preferred method of travel - plus she liked talking to the birds up there. Her mom could find her way to easily when she was on the ground - and make her behave or be boring.
If she sounded gruff, it wasn't that she was necessarily displeased to see her brother - but she didn't want him tagging along after her either. She liked to do her exploring on her own. She had even met a Lion the other day, and she was sure he would get in the way of exploring if he came along.

Li'ili'i la'au frowned at his sister she was always so rude and distant. She must feel like he would just stop her but in fact he just wanted to play with her. He quickly climbed a bit more till he sat close by her side and pushed her a bit to make room. "I just wanna be with youuuuu" He said sarcastically as he cuddled her with a bit too much roughness. He gave a light chuckle and jumped to another branch. He wobbled a bit before finding his balance. He strut down the branch and turned to his sister.
"I found the coolest place ever the other day when you were all sleeping like babies" He said with a little smirk as he leaped down one branch. He waited to see if she would be interested, it was indeed something he was sure know one knew of. It was so beautiful and cool, plus many places to explore down there.He was eager to go back there. He wanted to go down one of the tunnels and see where it led him to.

Lolani sighed, and shoved him away when he cuddled against her. She hated touchy-feely garbage. It was irritating, and he was in her personal space. Birds had personal spaces; they didn't like to be crowded. Neither did Lolani.
"That's great, Li'ili, but I have stuff to do. I made a friend yesterday and I need to see if he's around still. I'll play with you later."
Lolani started to move around Li'ili, making her way through the canopy. Her siblings were so loud. If she hung out with them, she would never get as far as she did. Or meet the people she did.
"And you should be quieter. If mom wakes up you'll get us both in trouble.""

Li'ili'i la'au followed after her not listening to her words. He started to get mad that she felt she was the only one who had ever done things or met others."I wanna meet him" He said as he catched up and padded by her side. He lightly kicked at her tail and skipped ahead a bit. He turned to her with a grin.
"Mom's fast asleep! I wore her out last night...besides Lolani your not the only one who explored and met others..." He whispered with a little smirk as he bounded towards the tunnels. He wondered if she would be down there again...or perhaps someone knew would be waiting for him. He shook his head clear of his thoughts and looked back to her.
Curiousity sparkled in his eyes. His sister was so serious, serious people never had fun. He didn't understand her, she seemed like she had thorns in her pelt all the time. It made him smile a bit.

Lolani turned around and headed back toward her mom and sisters, ready to bunker down until Li'ili ran off and made himself busy. She definitely wasn't going to share her friend with her brother, and she did not feel like playing his games.
Her experiences in the tree tops with the birds taught her to be serious - they lived a serious life, and more then one of her feathered friends had believed she was out to eat them. Even though she was just a kid, she was learning to be as serious as any other animal, and her siblings just weren't.
"You go have fun, Li'ili, I'm going back to bed."

Li'ili'i la'au looked at his sister and laughed as she padded back."Your such a scaredy cubby!" He snorted delightfully as he grinned and turned to. He wasn't gonna let her ruin his fun, she was always so grumpy like she had a thorn in her pelt. She would regret the day she tried to act all grown up and wouldn't be able to live like a cub.
"Vivuli?" He whispered as he headed to the tunnel entry. He wondered if she was here today. He remembered her dark pelt like the night sky and coated with gold and gems. She promised she would tell him about her next visit.
