Mokovu wondered the small grass lands, he had just gotten out of the dense woods and made it into this beautiful green land. There were small hills and beyond that the mountains, that was where he was heading in hopes to find what he was looking for. He had distant past memories of home, never anything clear but enough to know the general area.
He looked around to see what was around the hills, they were quite interesting enough and Mokovu had time to explore. He especially needed a drink of water and there has to be a place somewhere around here. He started to head over towards the large hills of grass and finally started to notice something at the base of one. Rocks started to cluster there in an odd formation. He made his way there to speculate why they gathered like that.
He finally looked at them and hidden by the mounds of rocks were actual little cave entrances. Fascinated he started to walk inside, the light outside made the caves light up inside but as he went deeper the caves got darker. He walked deep enough till he could see nothing but blackness ahead and faint light from the entrance. He started using his feet and nose to feel his way through the caves. What he would find was a mystery.

With careful steps the lone lioness steadily and slowly tried to retrace her steps back towards the entrance of the cave, or at least back towards the fork in the path so she could see where the other end would lead since the side she took just seemed to lead towards a dead end.
'Oh no, I'm pretty sure I came down this path when I first entered the cave. There could only be one way in and out, right? What if I'm lost, how am I supposed to find my way out? Wait, didn't I pass that boulder before? At least I hope it's a boulder... Oh no...'
Shaking the thoughts from her head, Ajala continued on down the tunnel with careful steps and a strong determination, and soon it paid off. She once again found herself entering the room that seemed like a giant hall or chamber. Like something from a dream where life pushes you to choose your path, one that would lead to self destruction, or in this case a dead end, and one that would lead to enlightenment, or what Ajala hoped something that would at least eat up more of her time and take her mind away from the reality, her sad reality.
Stepping towards the opposite tunnel the lioness quickly stopped, her ears pinned and tail stiff.
'Is there someone else here?'
Dull reddish brown eyes that seemed to hold no color in the dark turned in the direction of the sudden presence. What if it was a threat? What was she to do in the darkness? Hopefully it was something that would not see her or pick up on her scent, but if it was that she would surely stand no chance. She may be a lion, but even she could not see in what was like complete darkness. Even in savanna had the light of the stars and moon more of the time...
She could only hold still and wait...

As Mokovu travelled deeper and deeper he started to make turns that he knew he would not be able to recall or retrace. He went deeper and deeper till he felt that it would never end. He prayed to the gods he would not get lost in the dark tunnel and die here all alone. He snarled a bit and gave a shake, he needed to stay positive. Paw step after paw step took him closer to what he hoped would be a way out or at least to something that would make this journey worthwhile.
Finally he broke out of the small confining tunnels into what seemed like a larger room. He could tell it was big, even the air was fresher down here. He opened his mouth to take a reassuring breath but something caught his attention. A scent, it was fresh too...he studied it more carefully it was a lioness. He suddenly froze where he was and tried to look for any signs of something living. He hoped he had not come across claimed land or a lioness's birthing den. He thought about the possibilities, well the worst ones anyways but finally he took one step closer.
"Hello? Is someone else down here...
He said calling out to what seemed to be nothing but shadows and darkness. 'Maybe someone wasn't here after all, maybe I could get out before they noticed I've been here' His thought soon turned to the possibility of being found and getting attacked. He would not stand a chance in this darkness. even the darkest of night seemed brighter then the insides of this cave.
Without thinking he slowly turned and made his way to what he thought was the exit. If someone was in here they weren't attacking...yet. As he took another step he found himself only making contact to more cave walls, he was trapped.

With a careful ease the lioness allowed her muscles to relax, at least for moment anyway. She knew she would have to stay on guard around this stranger. His voice may hold no threat in it, but one could never be too careful. Even the most serene and welcoming looking patch of grass could have a momba lying in wait in it.
What could she do though? She could try and make a break for the other tunnel, or the one that lead the way out, but what if the other lion tried to pounce her, or worse, she just ran in to a wall and knocked herself out?
No, she could not be a coward now, it would be too dangerous and humiliating.
With a sigh escaping from her lips she decided to make the next move. One could only hope she didn't come to regret it later.
"Yes, someone is here, but you need not worry for I am not a threat."
As Ajala took a step forward the bangles on her wrist gave a light jingling should.
"Though," a simple unseen smile found its ways to her lips. "If you are then I suppose I would be the one that would have to worry. Why have you come here, have you come to explore the caves too?"

Mokovu slowly tried to make his way around but he only kept on making contact with the caves walls. They were cold and rough and he felt as though his heart was pounding out of his chest. He finally turned knowing he was facing the open, he couldn't see anything.'But what if they can see me?'
Finally the silence was broken and he could hear a voice. It was a lioness alright, he wondered what she looked like. It seemed she was no threat to him and he was not gonna be a threat to her either. He felt his fur rest down from where it stood on end and his heart beat slowed as well.
"I am not a threat either..."
He called out to her reassuring her as surely he would be the greater threat here. Then again maybe she was some warrior...His thoughts soon turned to humour in his head. He was a gentle giant unless he felt really threatened then out came a storm. However he respected lioness's and found himself struggling with the thought of harming one, she would probably hurt him.
"No worries m'dear I am here too just to explore these mysterious caves I came across. I could only imagine what they would look like if I could actually see"
He said with a slight chuckle as he tried to make out where she was by her voice. He struggled hard to picture what she looked like, it seemed as though she had been down in these caves before. He imagined a black pelt with red or gold eyes...but then again he was done there. He surely did not look like that. He shook his head at his foolish thoughts and looked in the direction that he thought she was at.

The lioness couldn't help but smile a little as he took a step closer towards the male. While she now felt a tad more comfortable in his presence, she still held a slight feeling of uncertainty about him, but that was understandable under their current circumstances. Plus, it wasn't something a bit of communication and time together couldn't cure. The time would come when she would know if she could really trust him or not.
"Yes, sight would be good, but a little imagination and creativity can go a long way when sight it taken out of the equation, don't you agree? It's one thing to see what's in front of you; it's another to discover what lies in the darkness with everything except your eyes, which adds to the mystery and fun in it all.”
Ears flicking, Ajala slowly moved to trot around the figure she thought to be the male. While she couldn’t really see him all the well she figured she might as well see what she could, from a safe distance of course.
“If you’re not afraid of partnering up with a stranger, and if you really want to search this cave, you can always join me. I’ve already taken the path to the left and found nothing but a dead end, so that’s less work for you, stranger.”

Her words were so experienced and wise, he admired that. He could not help but wonder to look like but she was right. It was under the pelt that counts the most. Something about her made him comfortable like she was genuine and trustworthy and in a way almost different.
"Indeed I do agree, the darkness can bring out the truth in everyone."
He could feel her eyes burning into his pelt, or what she could make out as her paws padded around him. He could sense from his own judging she had a good body structure, strong. As she spoke he felt excitement of having company in this darkness, he would be more then delighted to join her.
"Of course I will m'lady, someone has to protect you in the dark"
He said with a light laugh as he padded a step closer to where she was. He used his tail to flick her that he was ready to go, he could hear her steps around him and that would keep them together. It was so silent he could hear her every breathe and often he felt maybe she could make out the sound of his heart beating. He shuffled his paws slightly and flicked his ears, he suddenly became of aware of how dark it was in these caves. Company was the best idea thus far.

Some would say it is unusual to find a friend in the darkness, the element that most usually connect to the negativity of the world. Things like nightmares, murders and death were the normal things that creatures usually found in the shadows, not friendship, companionship, or strength. However, it seemed that Ajala found a little bit of light to her shadows upon running in to this male. While they didn't have their eyes to guide them, at least they had their other senses and the company of each other to help look after each other while on this journey. Only in darkness would they see things about each other that they wouldn't normally see in the light of day.
"Oh, so you're some kind of knightly prince now, are you? I guess we'll just see how well you have trained while on this journey..."
Smirking a bit in amusement, the blue lioness returned the flick before she carefully made her way towards the entrance of the opposite tunnel, which leads towards the other side of the cave. She didn't really know what would lie beyond the tunnel, another dead end, danger, or something magnificent, who knew, but that is the point of adventure and discovery, right?
They had to be careful as they weaved around the tunnel though. Sharp rocks, dangerous creatures like snakes and such, weak flooring, or rocks from above, they would all be waiting to hurt them when they least expect it.
"So tell me my unknown knight, whom exactly is protecting me while we are here? I may not be able to see with my eyes at the moment, but I might as well see the rest of you."

Mokovu felt strange to be here in the shadows, he could not explain how lucky he was to have come across another. Let alone another lion who happened to be a female. He started to wonder if there meeting was bound by fate, it seemed to be more then a coincidence to him. However while he was here in this darkness to her he started to feel a bond he probably would not have felt if they had met in the day. There was something about meeting in the dark and not seeing each other's appearance that made him feel no boundaries with her. Her words brought his attention out of his thoughts and back the the real world.
"Indeed I am and I guess that makes you my fair lady"
He said with a light chuckle as he followed her carefully further down the dark tunnel. As he followed her he could feel her curiosity coming off in waves like his own. He was a little uncertain on what to expect. He hoped whatever it would be would not be a threat to them or cause them any harm. The last thing he would wish for would be the weak dirt walls to crumble and trap them here forever. He shut away those thoughts and instead thought about the places these tunnels could lead to.
As they moved they made there way down the dark tunnels, feeling the walls for every turn and watching their every step for loose roots or rocks.
As she spoke about whom he was, he started to think who he actually was. That is besides his name. He suddenly felt even more lost in these dark tunnels.
"The name is Baridi Mokovu, call me Mokovu. I am a rouge lion who was born in the mountains but I spent most my life travelling all over the lands. And whom might the fair lady be?"
He said with a slight grin, although she could not see it. Even she was curious as to what he looked like just as much as he was about her. However by her voice he pictured a rather good looking lioness. However even if she wasn't he would have been happy to have met her and he enjoyed her company. To him a pelt was nothing more then just an appearance, sometimes it was deceiving. It was the reason why Mokovu only judged inner beauty or in other words peoples souls.
