Well, since the sky was clouded and overcast, it seemed to be the right time to leave the beach. Sev thought as she rose to her paws, shaking out any sand that might cling to her fur. She watched as the waves crashed against the beach in what seemed to be an angry fashion, she cast a glance to the dark clouds that seemed to be rolling in.

Turning away from the ocean scene, Sev padded up the beach, and back into the grass of the land, with a single glance over her shoulder, she frowned as lightening flashed behind her. "Yes, definately time to move on." She said to herself, but within minutes, a loud crack of thunder rumbled over head, and not soon after, rain began to fall upon the lioness.

Rain. Wonderful. Hak's mane instantly because sodden in the cloudbusrt and it hung down, limp in his face. His pace slowed and he stood, dripping and miserable, for a long moment. He slowly looked up, up at the sky and sighed. He was already lost, could things get any worse?

He took a long breath and tried to calm himself. He knew now that becoming angry over things he could not help would only bring more pain. That was why he'd come to this part of the world. Why he was lost, even. He'd heard tell of a tribe that lived in peace with the world, loving and rejoicing together in the simple act of living. It was a place he could perhaps finally find himself again.

Of course, no one had said finding them would be easy. He'd become terribly lost and disheartened. And now he was very very wet. With a grunt he looked into the trees. Was that a den? Perhaps it'd be empty and he could find some small solace from the downpour.

Whilst the rain didn't dampen her generally happy outlook, the cold wind that seemed to pick up, made her shiver and frown. Maybe it was time to look for somewhere to sit the storm out, glancing around her eyes fell on what looked to be a den hidden in the trees.

With a shake of her head, she tried to get her little tuff of mane out of her eyes, but with the shake of her head, and with the aid of the rain, it only seemed to plaster itself against her forehead even further. "Wonderful." She said with a faint laugh.

She began her start towards the den, hopefully things would turn a touch better once she was out of the rain.

The den in the end had been empty. That'd been a relief. Hak'd slunk into it, glad to find the bottom dry and sandy rather than wet or muddy, and curled up near the back. A few drip-drips of rain plunked off his mane and were absorbed into the ground. Hmph. Well at least he was somewhere dry now.

Alas, his peace of mind wasn't to last long. The sounds of someone or something moving about outside made him look up. Perhaps the den hadn't been as abandoned as he'd thought? Or perhaps it was someone come to try to steal his hiding spot...The thought of trying to scare them off went through his mind, but he merely sighed and rested his chin back on his paws.

He just didn't have the energy or the spirit for a fight these days.

Lightening danced over the sky, as thunder rumbled the earth, finally coming to the mouth of the den, she scented the air.

Someone else was in here, her eyes scanned the shadows but she couldn't see anyone, but she knew there was someone, or something in there!

Standing in the opening still, she glanced around, there didn't seem to be really anywhere else to go, but the den, so with a glance back into the darkness, she tilted her head to the side.

"Hello?" she called out, hoping that whoever, or whatever was within, would be willing to share the space until the storm passed.

Grunt. So whomever it was had intended to come into the den. The voice calling sounded female...that was reassuring, though he had known females to attack before. It didn't seem she owned the den. Perhaps someone else caught unawares and looking for a dry spot?

"Come in, then," He glanced up, mis-matched eyes glimmering in the faint light. "There's room and to spare. It's not my den, so I've no right to keep you out, at least..." He groaned and sat up. What an afternoon. Females were less likely to try to fight him, but they reminded him painfully of...things. Hopefully the storm would pass fast.

"I imagine you too were surprised by the rain?" Might as well be polite for now.

Dripping, she stepped into the den, eyes adjusting to the difference in light, she finally spied the male. He seemed less than pleased to be bothered, she kept close to the mouth of the den, she didn't want to upset him, or get in to close and find that she needed to flee quickly.

"Thank you." She said kindly before she lowered her hind haunches, she watched him carefully. "Well, actually I saw the dark clouds coming in...but didn't figure the storm so close." She said with a glance out to the sheet of rain that seemed to be coming down.

A flash of light behind the female illuminated her, and Hak gasped quietly. He recognized her! Once long ago she'd appeared to him; in one of his darkest hours she'd brought a bit of light. Funny that he'd run into her again in this wide world, and in an equally secluded situation.

"It did come up rather suddenly, didn't it Sev?" His voice was considerably lighter than a moment ago, and he briefly kept hidden in the shadows to make her wonder how he knew her name. A moment more though and he shifted so the next flash of light would brighten him.

Surely she'd remembered him too?

Her brows knitted together in a touch of confusion as this lion spoke her name, but she met many but still..his voice sounded so familiar.

"Yes, it rather just..took no time in consuming..." Her sentence didnt finish as the lightening filled the den with light, and it seemed she knew him indeed!

A smile touched her soggy features. "Well well, hello Hak."

He grinned gently back at her. So she did remember him! His mod had much improved since their last meeting, and he was revealed to be once more the well-groomed and strong lion he'd been before. Internally he was still adrift and wracked with doubt and turmoil, but it no longer so consumed him. He could do more than lie still and let her dote on him this time.

"Have you been well? You look it. Still taking in little lost males, hmm? I must thank you for that time, back then. I was not myself. Still am not, but I am better."

She moved away from the mouth of the den, she knew him and felt no danger now. And plus, it was cold up there!

"Ive been alright, thank you." She smiled up at him, she remembered that day and still it shamed her no one else had aided him. "Better is, an improvement. You look amazing." She said with a nod of her head, filled out and well groomed he was...a stunning piece of male.

He was all too happy to offer his warmth to her. She'd done a great deal for him, it was the least he could do. He shifted a bit so they could sit or lay side by side and watch the storm rage outside. Hopefully the den's real owner would not show up any time soon. Sure the den fit two comfortably, but three would be a squeeze.

"Thank you. Another thing to attribute to your care. You got me going again. Time took it from there." He looked down at her discretely. She was just as lovely as he remembered, if lacking the aura of heavenliness his fevered delusions had given her. "I'm surprised to find someone as gentle and caring as you still alone after all this time."

She fit quiet well next to him, something she'd puzzle about later.

"There is no need to thank me. Kindness is something that should be shared freely." she said with a simple nod of her head, "The rest was all you, you just needed a gentle nudge is all." And as he spoke of her being alone still, she merely shrugged her shoulders and smiled. "Sometimes, our path is a lonely one."

Oh yes, he was more than happy and willing to return what favor he could to her. She'd been kind when no one else was, picked him up when he'd fallen. And he was surprised and slightly upset that life had rewarded her with...nothing. Surely she deserved something, someone.

"A beautiful, kind, generous lioness deserves more though. Your path wasn't meant to be lonely." He bent his head to nuzzle hers. At least tonight he could keep her company.

At his nuzzle, she closed her eyes and sighed with a purr. She was an affectionate creature, and it seemed she'd gone to long without the touch of another.

"Your words flatter me a great deal." she said gently before she nuzzled him in return. There was no harm in this right?

"Nonsense. I speak only the truth." These days at least. Some part of him twinged, thinking of his past. Misdeeds and loves lost. But now was not the time for that. Besides. This wasn't anything serious. Just a bit of affection shown for her saving him. And she seemed to be enjoying it.

"The storm is still going strong. And you're still dripping." He licked her cheek, catching drops before they fell.

She couldn't help but blush lightly at his words before she shook her head closing her eyes. "Your a kinder soul than you give yourself credit for." She said softly, flicking her tail up against her side lightly.

At the feel of his tongue, her eyes snapped open and she looked up at him, her blush deepened as she brushed her cheek against his mane. "And your a wonderful absorbent."

The storm continued to rage outside the den, it didnt seem like it would be letting up anytime soon.

For the first time in a long time, Hak felt a strange swelling inside him; a surge of positive emotions he'd nearly thought he'd forgotten how to feel. Perhaps he could...? No. No she deserved far better than that.

But...just for tonight. With the storm raging around them, and the world centered down on just they two...Well. They could find a way to pass the time, and wait it out together.
