Espen had decided to go on an adventure! Shane had said that there were some interesting ruins, something like an old stone house, not too far away from their house in the countryside. Maybe about a two hour walk down the road East, away from the cattle ranch. Shane promised to take Espen there to see it himself when the weekend came around, but Espen was having none of that waiting buisness.
While Shane was off at work, Espen packed up a bag of stuff and decided to see if he could find the ruins himself and get back long before Shane found he had gone out. He packed his bag full of food and a walkie-talkie for the house as well as a watch and a hiking stick and was off down along the dusty road.

To who saw it, rather large bird was blocking out the sun below it as it flew down a rather dusty road. To the one flying, it would be a rather young boy named Mischa, who was out, as normal. Today was such a particularly lovely day for winter, and with winter came less tourism, and more opportunities to explore without being bothered!
In his hands was a map, a badly drawn one, but accurate enough to get him to one of the creepiest places he heard about. His brother once told him about an abandoned stone house, where at night, creepy things would come out and try to MURDER people. Granted, that was probably a lie, but it still could be fun to go see it, right?
Besides, it's not like he would be there after sundown. He DID have a curfew afterall, and he respected his father.
About halfway there, he noticed someone else walking on the road he flew above, someone who seemed to be about his age.
"HEY!! WHO ARE YOU~~!" He shouted down, not really thinking about how it might have been rude. He was curious, is all. He hadn't tried to land yet because, even though he got the whole flying thing down to a T, landing.. Not so much.. He'd crash, undoubtedly, if he simply tried to land infront of the other boy.

"Huh?" Espen squinted and looked up and around for the vioce he had heard. It was so clear and yet he couldn't quite figure out where it was coming from because of the sun in his eyes. For a moment he thought that perhaps it was instead coming from behind him, but the sky was clear and it took him only a few moments to realize that the only speck in the sky wasn't a bird but instead someone who he guessed was probably a spawn, or at least someone who had wings like one.
"Oh!" he said upon realization that the person was probably his age. "MY NAME'S ESPEN AND I'M GOING ON AN ADVENTURE!" he shouted back "UMM...WHO'RE YOU, AN WHY ARE YOU FLYIN'? DONTCHA KNOW WALKING'S BETTER FOR YOU?!" He hated seeing other people flying, it reminded him of how useless his wings were. Of course he would never admit that outright. Besides, what he said was true, and he didn't want to shout.
