At hogwarts: Transfiguration is essentially the art of changing the properties of an object. Transfiguration is a theory-based subject, including topics such as "Switching Spells" (altering only a part of some object, such as giving a human rabbit's ears); Vanishing Spells (causing an object to completely disappear); and Conjuring Spells (creating objects out of thin air).It is possible to change inanimate objects into animate ones and vice versa — McGonagall transfigures her desk into a pig and back in Philosopher's Stone.

Hello, and Welcome to Transfiguration. I am your teacher, Professor Soul-Heart, and welcome to my classroom. In this class, you will learn the art and history of transfiguration. You will learn how to control magic for transfiguration, and you will learn the many ways it is used.

Rules ClassroomPlease follow all the rules below. Failure to do so will result in a deduction of house points and or a detention of my choosing.
1• Always treat others the way you wish to be treated.
........... A• I expect fair treatment for all my students, from all my students. This rule may not be used an excuse to be disrespectful to any student. I do not want to be told that you wanted to be treated poorly by another student, so please do not treat another student with disrespect.
2• All instructions given by the professor must be followed as percisely as wizardly possibly.
3• All injuries or Magical mishaps must be immediately reported to the professor.
4• Wands will not be pointed at each other unless permission is given by the professor
........... A• When granted permission, only the allowed spell or charm may be used. Do not, under any circumstance, perform a spell on a classmate that is irrelevent to the lesson
5• It is required for you to ask questions in the classroom when you do not understand something. Failure to do so may result in an injury when spells are in question, or may result in a loss of points on an assignment. All questions are welcome in the classroom that are appropriate, and most will be answered to the best of the professors ability.
6• All out of class assignments will be due three class days from when it is assigned to the individual student. If muggle matters arise, please send an owl (PM) to the professor.
7• Please keep any pejorative words or gestures to a minimum in the classroom setting
8• As the professor, I have the right to create new and delete rules I have created to suite(?) the classroom settingForum1• You may send and owl (PM) to me at any time regarding the class
2• Please, try your best to do the assigned work. I know we all have muggle things to attend to, but do your best. Let me know if you have a problem with an assignment.

4• I am new to this guild... so give me a bit of a break. I think I know how to work this, but I'm not positive. I've been on gaia before, so yes, I know how things work. But, I have not been on for a while. I will keep getting on for this guild though!

Transfiguration History •○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○• To be brief, transfiguration is a combination of spells and jinxes that will help you transform one things appearence into another things appearence. In this class, we will learn things from transformations, to causing things to disappear. We will learn how to summon things, and how to create the illusion of transfiguration.
One thing you must know about Transfiguration is the Law of Gamp, or Gamp's Law Elemental of Transfiguration. This is the physics behind Transfiguration. There are five points on the law:
1• Food cannot be created. You can summon food if you know where it is, you can increase the size of the food, but you cannot create the food.
2• Love may not be created. You can give the illusion, such as infatuation, like love through a love potion or using the imperius curse, but love cannot be created through magic.
3• Gold may not be created. You can transform something into gold, but it will ultimately disappear or change to its original state.
4• Life may be taken away, it may be given, but you cannot bring someone or something back from the dead. Life can be taken away through the Aveda Kedevera curse, or you may animate something to give the illusion of life, but life cannot be given to someone who has already passed.
5• Curse Damage to a body part where the body part is severed cannot be regrown. (I'm still learning about this law...)

Previously Assigned Work Tuesday, February 22nd: PM to the teacher 2• Friday, February 25th, 2011 - Saturday, March 12th, 2011: Pick out a toy (They are all dolls or action figures) from this list and work on the animation spell. (This spell will be found on page 2.) Once you have animated your doll, your task will be to have an interview with the doll. The interviewing materials will be found under the Homework Post.
This assignment is due on Saturday March 12th, 2011.3• Saturday, March 5th, 2011 - Saturday, March 12th, 2011: In class, please tell me everything you know about transfiguration. This includes your history with transfiguration, any rumors you may have heard about transfiguration, and everything you know about it. This is the grading for the assignment:
3 sentences: 13/20
4 sentences: 14/20
5 sentences: 15/20
6 sentences: * 16/20
7 sentences: * 18/20
8 or more: * 20/20*This is depending on the substance of the sentence.
I have decided that since this is only knowledge based, and I have hardly taught anything, that as long as you have three or more sentences, you will get the full 20 points.
If you can list more than four spells that are transfiguration-related, you will get house points based on the amount. Do not make up spells, for I know what a real spell is.
This assignment is also due with the doll assignment, on March 12th, 2011. 4• Saturday March 12th, 2011For the next lesson, we will be studying the color-changing spell. ( On the top of Page 8 ) The current assignment will be found on the chalk board. You will be transfiguring one of the following:
1st-2nd years:
A Quill from brown to a bright color of your choice.
- OR -
A gold water goblet from Gold to black or dark purple.
3rd-5th years:
A water goblet from Gold to black or dark purple.
- OR -
A mouse from White to any bright color you want.
6th-7th years:
A mouse from White to any bright color you want.
- OR -
Your own hair from what ever color it may be to the inverse of that color. Find about the color of your hair on that color wheel, then look for the color directly across from it. (So for example. If you look at the orange, and say your hair color is number 1 in that, you would change your hair color into the number 1 blue color.)
Choosing the second choice is the more difficult choice. If you complete the second choice for your grade level, you will recieve extra credit, and maybe even house points. Just a little incentive for you.
Also, completeing this task will allow you to take which ever toy you would like to take from the classroom.
This assignment, for the time being, has no due date. Thank you!

This Lesson will be over with on Saturday March 12th, 2011. A new lesson will also be taught during this lesson. The Professor The Piertotum Locomotor incantationThe wave of the wand is very important. If must be stiff at the wrist, but your arm moves lightly. There is very little flick of the wrist, and your arm needs to have force. The spell is pronounced like this "Peer-toe-tum-Low-Kah-Mow-terr". Do not pause between the words, but try not the merge them together. The pronunciation is not as important as the spacing of the words for this one. Concentration is the most important piece. Try your hardest to clear your mind of all other thoughts. Then, you need to completely concentrare on the doll. The place that most will mess up is when the doll does come to life. If you get frightened and break your concentration, the doll will only come to life for a moment and go back to its lifeless space. •Homework Assignments○ April 10th to April 20th Since this is a longer assignment, I will be giving you plenty of time to complete it. If you have it in to me before next friday, though, I will award you house points (depending on the accuracy of the answers)
On a piece of parchment, please answer the following questions about Animagi, Metamorphmagi, and a werewolf.
You have two options. One, you may answer all the questions in complete sentences.
Two, you may answer these questions in Essay Form. In the essay form, you may answer 20 out of 25 of the questions, but I expect three paragraphs - One on each of the new terms we are learning about.1. Define, in your own terms, what an Animagus is:
2. a. How many different Animals can a person take the shape of?
b. Why is that?
3. a. What happens to a person’s clothing when they transfigure into their Animagus?
b. What happens when a person transfigures back? (Clothing-Wise)
4. What is so difficult about being an Animal? (Think about Brain Function)
5. Who was a famous unregistered Animagus? (She writes the paper!)
6. What does it mean to be a Registered Animagus?
7. How many Animaguses were registered in the 20th century before the second Wizarding War?
8. Can you transfigure without your wand into your Animagus form?
9. What Animagus do you believe you are?
10. Have you learned your Patronus shape yet? If so, what is it? (This would most likely be your Animagus.)
11. Based on question two, what else can your Animagus reflect about yourself? Give as many examples as you can find.
12. Can an Animagus communicate with other animals?
13. What is the difference between a Metamorphmagus and an Animagus?
14. Is there training for a Metamorphmagus? Can you become one through hard work?
15. What is one thing, like an Animagus, that affects a Metamorphmagus to transfigure?
16. List a few disguises you would use if you were a Metamorphmagus:
17. What is the correct term for Werewolf?
18. List a few difference between an Animagus and a Werewolf.
19. How do you become a werewolf? What can cause you to become a werewolf if you were in contact with one?

23. Are werewolves affected by silver? Where did this belief come from?

•Spells○ 1• Piertotum Locomotor: Used to Animate an object such as dolls and action figures. It is usually used to animate objects such as statues and suits of armor, but can be used on smaller objects as well.
2• Colovaria: A spell used to transfigure the color of any object. This can be used for any reason to change the color of something. Very useful for changing hair color and for disguising an object. With this spell, the smaller the object, the easier to transfigure. Also, the thinner, the easier. A creature would be very difficult to transfigure, and a human body part is the most strenuous. It is easier to transfigure an object into a lighter color than a darker color, as it is easier to shade something dark on a piece of paper than to shade something light on a piece of paper.
3• Ritorno: Returns a transfiguration back to its original state. It is very useful if a mistake is made, but can only be used for small transfiguration spells, such as Colorvaria or Piertotum Locomotor. Other spells such as the transfiguring of a human to an animal will not change the person back, rather it will be left in some sort of half-state. Also, if an object has been transfigured too long, it will not transfigure back without the actual counter-spell. Just think of this spell as the 'master key', which unlocks all the doors it is made for. A master key will not unlock all doors.
4• Foldora: Simply put, it is a spell used to fold objects. Now, it can be used to transfigure a piece of parchment into a shape of your choosing, but it can also be put to good use around the house with folding objects such as sheets or blankets, and laundry. This spell can not 'Fold a person' in half. It can only be used on Inanimate objects of sorts.
5• Decorare: A spell used to decorate small objects of your choice. Very simple to use. All you have to do is visualize the object how you want it to look, say the spell, and it will look how you imagined it.
6• Posta: A spell used to mail a letter to someone. It can only be used in short distances. The maximum it can travel is 20 miles. To use this spell on a letter, you would say Posta, and then you would say the persons name you would want it to travel to. For example, if I were mailing a letter to Professor Kalle, I would say Posta Professor Kalle and it would go to professor Kalle.
