Vincent was having a rather difficult time finding the perfect gift for Elisabetta. They were getting married in a few short months and he wanted the gift to be--well. Perfect. As perfect as was possible for a spawn of humility to find, that was. He had doubts on whether he'd find the perfect gift or not.
He had decided upon something--well, shiny. He knew Lissy liked to stand out--she definitely did even without trying. He needed to give her something just as special as she was. He doubted there was such a thing, really... Lissy was special. Unique, even. He had never met a girl like her. He had never known a girl to make him feel the way he did about her. That was why he was marrying her, after all. He loved her. The greed and humility spawn glanced around, focusing on his surroundings. To his left, Hot Topic.
Not likely to contain a gift worthy of his love. To his right, Limited Too. He made a face. His younger sisters had formerly made that their favorite store. Behind him the foodcourts, in front of him...
A jewelry store. He headed for that, grinning. Certainly there would be something worthy of Lissy there.

Cody had been eying the jewelry store for some time, hesitant to even walk in. Everything glittered and glowed beautifully, just screaming to be taken and added to his diminished horde. Yet, that wasn't why he had come to the mall and this specific store in the first place. No, he wasn't attempting to enlarge his already huge horde of trinkets. Today he was shopping for someone else, though the reasoning he was trying to keep heavily secretive. Going when everyone was essentially at work and hopefully during one of the slow times, he had hoped to browse the beautiful rings in search of the one he wanted.
He definitely had the money. From his new job to selling off some of his horde, albeit reluctantly, Cody hoped he had enough to buy the perfect ring. The ring he'd give to someone later that week during a romantic date he'd been planning for weeks whilst stuck at the facility. He just hoped nobody saw him that would spill the word on his whereabouts and what he was specifically doing. Ruining the surprise was one thing he was trying so desperately not to do.

Vincent's eyes veered away from the jewelry, only to catch sight of a vaguely familar figure. He went through the list of names he had mentally stored in his mind. "Cody?" he asked, astonished. He hadn't seen the other boy since--well he didn't know how long, but it'd been a long time. Since Cody'd taught him to float, at least. The greed/humility spawn was still grateful for that.
"Hey! How are you?" he asked as he walked towards the boy. "Haven't seen you in ages!" Now that he was effectively distracted from purchasing a gift for his fiancee, he would find it difficult to find the perfect gift.

Cody nearly had a heart attack when someone called out his name, head whipping around violently searching for the source. His eyes quickly found Vincent, widening in surprise. He had nearly forgotten about the spawn in all the crap he had gone through. Then again, most things had been pushed aside during all of it. "Hey Vinny. I'm... Alright I guess. Better than before I guess. What's been up with you?" he asked, eyes darting around the mall rapidly.
Thankfully, nobody was around to notice them and their talking. In fact, no one gave them a second glance save for the smaller kids just now getting used to the idea of odd creatures moving around among the normal humans. No longer was the simple human the only thing roaming Gaia, living just as they did. "I suppose it has been a while since we last met, huh?" Cody chuckled, looking almost sheepish at how long it had been.

"Not much," Vincent said, grinning at his old friend. "You know, grew some; got engaged. Do you know Elisabetta? She's my fiancee. I'm supposed to be buying her a present," he added, almost apologetically. "What are you looking for?" he asked.
"I've missed you," he said. "I don't think we've seen each other since that day in the park. How about we hang out a bit, since we're both here?"

Cody shook his head. "I don't remember a Elisabetta or know anyone by that name. Then again I can't really remember a whole lot of people. Congrats on getting engaged, though," he replied with a grin. He chose to ignore the question of why he was in the store, figuring it would defeat the point of having the entire thing be a secret. Shifting his stance a bit in an attempt to hide the embarrassed look that threatened to overtake his face.
"Hm? I don't think we have either. This past year I've been pretty busy with other things and hey, I guess if you're looking for a present involving jewelry for someone, what better way to do it than with someone who's good with prices? Besides, I've got nothing better to do," he added, again dodging the question of what he specifically was looking for.

"Thanks!" Vincent beamed at his friend. "Maybe I'll introduce you to her sometime. She's really sweet, you know--lust though." The greed spawn looked awkward, but that really was the only thing to say.
"Oh, busy. Next time you're free, we should hang out some, yeah? I've really missed you. You could meet Lissy! And I've got a younger brother now, his name's Kaleb. Bit of a pest, really. Useful, though. He gives me anything I ask for when I ask for it." Vincent smirked. "He's liberality. Really? You'd help? I've been having trouble finding just the right thing."
And trust a humility spawn to frett that nothing was 'just the right thing'.

Cody laughed at Vinny's awkwardness, already getting the idea. He had been pretty desensitized to such things about others that it didn't bother him much. About himself, however, was an entirely different story for some, odd reason. "Sure. How about the three of us go somewhere? Maybe... I dunno, somewhere?" he laughed, realizing how stupid he was sounding. It had really been a while since he actually planned something with another person that was actually social related.
"A brother? Nice. Seems like everyone I know has a sibling of sorts nowadays. And of course I'd help! Would seem kind of rude to pull you away from this just to hang out for a bit. I've... Been around jewelry enough. C'mon, we'll find something for Lissy," Cody explained, looking almost shifty but said nothing more about his past. "What were you thinking of? Necklace, ring, bracelet, or something else?"

"Maybe to a movie? I heard you know Edes, though. He's a friend of mine. Maybe we could all do something together? Kind of like a double date, only... You wouldn't be dating him, or anything..." Yeah, this was awkward. Vincent had met Edes only once, when Kaleb had been a toddler. "Or out to ice cream. Anywhere, really."
"He's a teenager now," Vinny added with a smile. "It's really weird how fast he grew... It doesn't seem like any time's gone by at all, almost. But I suppose we were the same way, huh?" He beamed at his old friend. "That'd be awesome. And er... I was thinking a necklace, to go with her ring, you know. Something silver? I don't know... I was never much on jewelry, unless I was stealing it."

A full out blush raced across Cody's face and he glanced away for a moment in hopes of hiding it. "Ah, Edes, yes I know him pretty well since I'm currently living in his apartment. He's actually our age and ice cream or a movie sounds awesome. I'll talk with him when he gets home," he replied, sounding almost prideful at having the spawn. Or perhaps it was the almost possessive tone he used when describing his current boyfriend. Now he just hoped Vinny wouldn't question whether he was buying a ring or something or not.
"Silver? Silver's a pretty metal, but I suppose it depends on what she would wear more of. If she didn't wear rings a whole lot it'd seem silly to buy one, right?" Cody asked, flashing Vinny a smile before moving into the shop to actually appraise what all the store had. There wasn't a whole lot to scoff at the longer he stood there, each and every single one worthy of a beautiful woman's hand. Guess it came down to minute details and how it was designed. Excellent.
