I don't know if this would be considered its own franchise or simply a spin-off, but I absolutely hated the DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball titles. Now I'm aware that some reviewers gave it some decent scores due the depth of the volleyball game play. But, to me it just seemed like a showcase of how much better the artists got at rendering jiggling boobs.

Mmmmm. Boobs. 3nodding
On a more serious note, I'd have to say the Barbie games, Barbie Horses?, Bratz, Bratz Horses?, and technically games that stick with that kind of stuff.
I don't really know if it actually entertains the audience it was designed for, since I've never seen anyone actually own/play one. Who knows? They might not even exist in reality. It's just a part of my imaginary world, lol.

I kind of ignore those "games", but maybe I shouldn't judge as I haven't actually seen a single one of these in action. I don't even know a kid who'd be caught dead playing them. neutral

I took the liberty of YouTubing a random barbie gameplay video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jGoNCgL0lE&feature=related
I can't exactly watch the video to the end since I got bullshit loading speed, but yeah. Enjoy. Who knows? We might have been underrating the franchise as a whole the entire time, lol. I mean, we ARE judging a franchise that probably no one in this guild has ever played before...I think. 3nodding
And now it's time to go to sleep.

Star Wars? Only good games are the battlefronts and Dark Forces. There is no point milking a dead cow.

Oh god, I had a couple of barbie games. There was Secret Agent Barbie for the PC that was a really shitty and ugly stealth game, but I loved it anyways. Then there was Barbie Pet Rescue which was a pointless point-and-click game that had no ending. eek There were a certain amount of animals you could rescue, which you could then play minigames with, but that was about it other than petting and visiting empty environments. I also had Barbie Horse Rescue and Barbie Pet Shop. The former was somewhat decent, but the latter was an utter pile of s**t. I didn't even play it for 5 minutes.
So yeah, back to franchises. sweatdrop I'll say Spyro. The games stopped being good after they moved on to the PS2, and the reboot is way too different from the original. Gems as power ups? Linear levels? Repetitive beat'em up gameplay? Wtf is wrong with sticking to the original formula?

@thor and bloddy loc don't dis the star wars, but i kinda agree
I say call of duty they actually have about 20 games out maybe more, then i would also say halo b/c they finished it with reach i don't see why they would do a four or redo 1, also need for speed that franchise died out with underground, and last but not least tony hawk it should've stopped with project 8 yet there they go making tony hawk ride

Well, I don't really mind if they remake a popular game like Halo: Combat Evolved. So long as they don't screw the whole game into obscurity. I also don't mind prequels of a gaming franchise as long as it actually fills in gaps and not make more of them/contradict each other.

Republic Commando, Knights of the Old Republic, The Force Unleashed, Super Star Wars and Shadows of the Empire would like to have a word with you. You mentioned Dark Forces. I would assume this includes the Jedi Knight games that dropped the Dark Forces part of the name. Jedi Knight 2 is damned amazing. Spyro the freaking Dragon. The series hasn't been good since it left Insomniac's hands. JUST LET IT DIE ALREADY! YOU ARE NOT INSOMNIAC! YOU DO NOT HAVE THEIR TALENT! JUST LET IT FREAKING DIE! The same thing could be said of Crash Bandicoot and Naughty Dog
