Liara was looking for his mother. Her new in law. Her mother in law. It felt funny saying that, she wasn't sure if he had told her yet. She wasn't sure of anything really. All she knew was what she looked like and that she was gonna tell her-just to make sure. Just make sure. So she padded on, following a really worn trail in the lands, one that everyone tended to use.
She sighed, stopping to flick mud off her tail. She wanted to look sort of presentable, though no one really was mud free here... She sighed, stopping to stare around in her usual way. Maybe this was a dumb idea, since she had no clue how to find this female... oih. She stood up, climbing up onto a fallen tree, climbing up until she had a good view around her.

Shakuntala, or really Tala as she prefered to be called, was walking the rouge lands. She was enjoying the day, the sun kept peaking out from behind the clouds. It was rather relaxing to be out and about. Tala had been happier lately then she had been in awhile. She had found a mate, a real mate not just a male who was using her, and her cubs had begun to return to the pride. Only Kairu, or Nitesh as his name was now, had returned but she was sure that the others wouldn't be too far behind.
Tala had no plans for the day so she headed towards the pride's watering hole, it was a great place to find outhers, make new friends and in general just relax.

Lahna spotted her not far away finally, she hung her front off off the log and shook her rump thoughtfully. She could easily recognize Nitesh's mother, no problem. She however, could not remember her name for the life of her. GO FIGURE. She wrinkled her nose, tucking it against the bark and frowning. WHAT WAS IT. Sh... something that started like Sh...
Sh..... sh......
She rubbed her face against it in frustration. Oh what ever, she got up and began to scale down the tree, her tail flipping around in her frustration. Shaaaa... shaaaaaan.... no... She wrinkled her nose. UGH. She turned around the corner towards Nitesh's mom. UGH...
"Ah... uh... Shaaa... shakuntala!" She blurted out, realizing her name so suddenly it felt like a flash back. "Shakuntala!"

Tala's head shot up at the calling of her name. She still hadn't fully gotten use to her new name, but at least now she was responding to it being called. She spotted the younger brown lioness and smiled. She was pretty sure that the young one that came her way was Lahna... the lioness her son had befriended and told her so much about.
"Good Afternoon" Tala greeted her as she walked towards the other lioness a great smile on her face. Nitesh hadn't told her anything specific about their relationship but Tala could tell her son had great feeling for this particular lioness.

Lahna smiled at the females reaction to her calling out. Lifting her head higher and puffing out her chest, she strutted closer; looking joyful. She was pretty pleased with how easy it was to find her. What luck... if it was luck. Destiny maybe. She wasn't sure nor would she care. She got close enough, to smile sweetly at her and say-
"Hello there... I'm not sure if you know who I am..." She started. "I was with Nitesh when we were out on our pilgramage..." She said, sitting down and observing the lioness before her. it was a shame, what had happened too her. The betrayal and all... but word was she had a mate now... one who loved her and that made Lahna happy.
Everyone deserved to be happy... Including Nitesh... "I'm Lahna."

Semira smiled and settled to a seated position. She was happy that the young female had come to find her. She knew that they should talk sooner or later. Tala knew that her son had feelings for this lioness and she wondered how far the relationship had gone. She also wanted to make sure that the female was a suitable mate for her Nitesh. Nitesh hadn't had an easy go when he was a young cub, something Tala blamed herself for a great deal for.
"Well Lahna it is a pleasure to meet you. Nitesh had mentioned that he had had you as a friend on his pilgrimage, I am glad that he wasn't out in the desert all on his own." Tala said a smile on her face. She wanted to get an idea of what the relationship was between her son and this lioness but she didn't want to give away how her son felt if he hadn't told Lahna yet.
"Are you happy to be back home in the swamp lands now Lahna?" Tala asked, hoping perhaps if she got the other lioness talking all would be come clear.

Lahna smiled. "Aw, yeah. It's great being home.. nothing like good old mud between your toes... I hated that dry sand stuff... it was horrid. Stuck in my nose and eyes... and ears. Uck. Nitesh really made it much better in fact... being with him made it much more tolerable..." She added with a nod. "I hope we didn't worry you by being so gone so long... I know Nitesh and the others are... well... ya know..."
She sort of looked down at her paws. "I... Nitesh asked me to share a den with him the other day... " She said softly, her normal attitude gone. "He.. he must really like me... to be asking me to live with him and... uh.. be his mate..." She looked up at her... perhaps looking for approval

Tala nodded as the younger lioness talked about the sand that was all over in the desert it was a funny substance that was quite unpleasent compared to the mud here in the swamps. The sand was coarse and hot to walk on. "I have to agree with you the mud is much nicer, I have to say the swamplands are a much nicer place to be particularly for black lions like Nitesh and I."
Her smile grew when Lahna mentioned how Nitesh had made the pilgrimage easier for her, "My Nitesh is a caring creature, I am glad he was there to make it easier for you and you I believe made it much easier for him." Tala had known that Nitesh wouldn't have liked to be out on his own in the desert and it made her very happy to know that her son had had compay while he was out in the foreign land.
"His mate.... a den....." her head was swimmig, he guessed that Nitesh hadn't told her how serious it was because he wasn't sure how Lahna felt for him, but the older lioness could see how happy the younger lioness was. Finally finding the words she need Tala smiled, "My son has grown up and I can't imagine a nicer female her could have chosen." In truth she didn't know the young lioness very well.... but she knew how Lahna made her son feel and that was all that was important.
A bold smile crossed Tala's lips, "Does this mean you accepted my dear? And that perhaps I could expect some grandcubs in the near furture?" she chuckled a little as she spoke, the thought of being a grandmother was a nice one.

Lahna smiled warmly at the lioness. She was happy of the reaction she received upon speaking of matehood. She knew her own mother would be just as thrilled. She puffed out her chest, looking rather smug. "Nitesh is a great male... At first when I met him I had to toughen him up but now... he's really great... and I love him. So yes, I am mated to him now... and I am proud."
"I hope to have cubs some day. I don't know when. I feel I am too young right now... but someday.. I would really like to have them..." She paused. "I think Nitesh would be a great father... No... he will be a good father." She said sternly to herself more than anything. "I wanted to come and talk to you and let you know... I felt you deserved it.. though He would have said something anyways... I just wanted to come say hi..."

Tala smiled warmly, "I am glad that you came to see me my dear. I am pleased to see that my Kairu found someone so strong. You know he could always use strength around him" she said as she winked at the young lioness.
Tala gave Lahna one last nod before the younger lioness turned ad walked away. Tala found it hard to hold back the tears that were welling inside of her. Her son had grown up so quickly it was like she had blinked and now her cubs where out of her den, and soon would be starting dens of their own, how time had flown. Perhaps soon her and Kule would have a litter of their very own, her first litter would always be very important to her, but it would also be nice to raise a litter with her partner. In her home that was safe now. Tala couldn't be happier.
