Batu had woken up early he had it in his head that perhaps he would go and find Delila today. He hadn't stopped thinking of her since they had met a few days earlier. He had made his decision he thought. He wasn't going to tell her all his secrets not yet anyways. He wanted to get closer to here and he knew that not telling her everything was hazardess... it could come back to haunt him, but for now its all he could do. If he told her he might have to face the full force of Eztil and that was something he knew he didn't want to do.
Batu was thinking all of this while he walked aimlessly around the pride lands, he was barely watching where he was going. He was completely wrapped up in his own head.

It had been a quiet day nothing too unusual on her part of the borderlands, not that she expect much Fin thought as she continued to head back towards the central area of their pridelands. A small flower was tucked behind her ear, it was rare, but Fin felt that Delila would rather enjoy it as part of her collection. She wasn't sure why the lioness insisted on having flowers here and there but if it brought her joy there was little pain in doing the action. Besides trying to find flowers on her part was about as much fun as she had patrolling than when she had meet the rather chatty hyena.
Perking her ears up Fin heard a noise of something else moving, it was a black and white lion. Fin could feel a growl start to rise from her throat before she realized that the figure was the familiar figure of the one she had seen with Eztil.
Flicking her tail she gave a half smile of formality, "hello."

Batu snapped to attention as soon as the other one spoke. Shaking his head slightly he looked around him to see who the greating had come from. "Oh Hello" he said politely. "I am sorry I hope I didn't interupt you or anything I am afraid I was caught up in my own thoughs." he said a small laugh behind his voice. Due to the fact that Batu had never socialized in the pride other then with Eztil and now Delila he didn't know who the lioness before him was.
"My name is Batu it is a pleasure to meet you." the black and white lion greeted the lioness. He was speaking in a gentle voice and a smile on his face. Now that he had made friends with Delila he had found that he wanted to meet more members of the pride make more friends, and not just live in Eztil's shadow his whole life.

Fin shook her head, "no you are not interrupting anything sir, I was merely returning from the edge of the prideland. I was merely curious that's all, it's rare to see others come out this far let alone those who are close to the Mfalme." Fin replied giving him a half hearted smile, Delila had always said she had a rather bad sarcastic side when talking to others not that she ever toned it down for anyone, she was amazed she knew so many pride members because of it.
At the mention of his name Fin rose a brow, "Batu? You are the one Delila mentioned aren't you, I didn't realize what face belonged to the name. It's a please to meet you, I'm Fifinella, Fin for short." She replied with a nod of her head trying to keep the flower behind her ear from falling out.

Batu smiled ah so this was Fin, Delila had nothing but good things about her. Batu on the other had was a little worried about this encounter the lioness she didn't seem to be very happy with him, even though they had just met. He tried to keep the smile on his face though he wanted to make a good impression on Fin, she was clearly close to Delila and Batu wanted to be close to Delila.
"Ah yes I suppose I have travelled quite far out, to be honest I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going." he told her as he looked around. "I suppose I was distracted." He tried to keep the smile on his face despire the tension he felt. "Ah yes Delila I met her just the other day. A wonderful lioness." he said. He found his heart skipping a beat to know that Delila had told her freind about him.
"Its a pleasure to meet you FIn, Delila told me a great deal about you." he said hoping that if Fin knew he had heard such great things about her that perhaps she would be a little more at ease.

Fin let out a rather odd by cheerful laugh, "I hope she hasn't said too much about me, knowing her it could range from good, too much, or something to send a bit of fear into someone else, not as if that was a bad thing. You shouldn't believe everything she says, well.... no that's not true she isn't a liar, she is just rather fond of being very good hearted. Though I am always worried about that with her, there are some who would rather use her or break her heart." Fin gave a bit of a worried look across her face, Delila's goal was always to find the good in others, do what she could to help but the downside was always that it opened to her to be hurt or used.
"You are not planning on using her are you Batu?" She replied giving him a rather sly look, "and don't worry about it, if you were someone else I might be more concerned why they were out here."

"Ah you do not have to worry about what she has said all that she told me was that you are a great friend to her. She thinks very highly of you." Batu offered a kind smile hoping that if she knew that he had only heard of good things that perhaps she would lighten up. His hopes were quickly dashed when she started talking about how others might just be trying to use Delila.
"I ... I would never." Batu answered, a ball getting caught in his throat. He had true honest feelings for Delila and he in a way resented the implication that he would do anything to harm her. "I am not hurting anyone, I would never hurt her... I care for her." Batu bit his lips as he admitted the last thing he hadn't even admitted his feelings like to Delila yet, but now Fin knew.
"I know that no one knows me well. I am sure I seem a little odd, and untrustworthy. I only made it out this far because I was thinking of Delila and I got lost in my thoughts." He looked into Fin's eyes hoping that she would be able to see the that he was speaking the truth about his feelings for Delila. He had a lot to hide, and he of course had told many lies, it was a problem when it came to being the son of Eztil. Which of course was a secret no one could know, but that art of his life didn't have to effect his life with Delila.

"Sometimes I think she thinks much to highly of me, really it just makes me look less intimidating," Fin replied with a rather look of mirth on her face, "and I'm sure her mother would be a bit furious if she knew that she took more care in what she said of me than her." Truly the thought just made her laugh a little on the inside, not that Briseis was a bad lioness, just raising cubs was not her forte when they were her own.
She watched as he seemed flustered over her implications of him using her, really she meant using her for cubs and fleeing but his thrown off appearance caught her off guard. She didn't expect nothing more than the bashful youth trying to shake his head and say he wouldn't treat a lady like that but it seemed something more deeper than that. She rose a brow at the comment of him caring for her and that he had lost his own way out thinking about her, really if he wanted to ask her out he should just say so. Fin was never one to beat around the bush, blunt aways seemed to be the best tactic however, not everyone could bear as much confidence as she did.
Pressing her lips into a thin line and shaking her head, she replied, "I just take any young lion as untrustworthy when it comes to Delila and you shouldn't feel yourself treated any differently, its more of a protective habit of my own. Sort of like an older sister or brother would, I wouldn't be much of a guardian of her if I didn't suspect anything. Plus it means I give you forewarning that I'll beat the snot out of you if you make her cry by breaking her heart." She gave the lion a bit of a half grin, she was in her own way joking but not, if he did make her cry there was a chance she would feel the need to beat the snot out of him or something far worse. "As for your other concerns I play little in the game of politics, too much words and manipulation. I'm merely a blunt warrior, flatten the opposition and bull head my own way so I just stay out of it. By the way Batu, if you are so concern about her you should bring her something that she is fond of." Fin replied remembering the flower that was still tucked behind her ear.

Batu listened a look of concern on his face. He took everything the lioness was saying to him seriously. He was a little fearfull as she seemed quite sincere in her threat to do serious harm to him if he were to hurt Delila... but hurting Delila was the last thing he wanted to do. In fact the more Batu thought about it the more he realized he was pretty sure he loved her. It was odd that he should love someone so quickly after all he had only met her once, but she hadn't left his thoughts since then.
When Fin mentioned bringing Delila something she liked his ears perked, he was excited by the idea of going to see Delila again and bringing her a little gift would make her very happy he was sure. "What should I bring her?" he asked feeling kind of stupid having to ask.

"A flower," Fin replied noting the look of concern on his face "its one of her favorite things to see and get. Though she won't admit it she is a little bit bias of the pink colored ones over any others. When she was little she used to always want to play games, and wearing a flower she would always play the role of the princess like heroine who would one day be swept away by her lover, not that we had anyone to play the lover. There where days when she would get hurt or sad and I would bring a flower to cheer her up not that she will admit to wanting one anymore." Those were the days, Fin thought as a wave of sadness flooded from her heart, despite how much she put it off she was in a way sad to see what she considered as a friend and daughter had grown up so quickly.
"But now she won't ask for them, but you can see her face light up when she get's one." Fin replied with a bit of a smile, " she will wear them until they start to wither and then she goes to press them until they dry, and I'm sure at this point she has little interest in me telling you much more in fact I'm sure she will already be on my case for mentioning her playing princess as a cub." A grin showed on Fin's face, "so if you bring her one don't tell her I said anything."

Batu took all this knowledge, it was good to learn little things about Delila, perhas Fin could be a good friend. Though Batu was sure that if Fin knew the whole truth about who he was, and what he did... or was suppose to be doing... for Eztil she would skin him alive. Batu would have to prove himself to both of these ladies one days, and he hoped that perhaps he would be able to find away to do it.
"Flowers, flowers are nice." he looked over past Fin where he could see flowers growing in a field, he guessed that is where FIn had gotten the flower she held. "I think I am going to pick her some... I want to get her more then just one." Batu told Fin a curious smile growing on his face. He felt very giddy about going to pick flowers for Delila and surprising her, he was sure that she would love it. And it was a great lead in to letting her know how he felt about her. "Thank you, thank you for everything." Batu said before skipping away towards the field of flowers.

Fin gave a bit of a grin as she watched him skip away to find Delila a flower. She was certainly going to end up in trouble later one when Delila would realize who told him about her love. Well, if it all worked out like she hoped she wouldn't have to worry about it, and she hoped more or less she would hear about it in the morning knowing she would wait for her before she leaves again.
"More than welcome I hope," she replied with the whisper lingering on her lips before she turned her back heading towards the pridelands making note to avoid Delila for the rest of the night.
