WHAT IS THIS RIDICULOUS NONSENSE?
Glad you asked Mr.Capslocks!
In an effort to build on the lore and history D-corp is built off of, I want to make a group project.
I was thinking about WoW and how they have so many stories and histories built up in the background that you only get glimpses of. And I thought to myself, well they have DOZENS of people working on different backstories and making this up... no one person could do it.
And that's when I thought to make this.
Make up your characters, make up your stories... pick out things that could happen in this massive span of time!
Rules:
- We're looking for short stories about specific events relating to a character. Histories, summaries, etc... around 2-3 pages, I'd say? For example "John had 3 kids and a wife when he left for the war..." So lots of facts, please! Think History Book stories!
- Focus on a specific and important character.
- Must not be any other character you own, it must be COMPLETELY NEW and you must be willing to give it up to D-corp after. :c Sorry! But these are for a history book!
- Both dragons and humans are allowed
- Obviously, don't go outside the setting.
- Not all will be accepted! Nothing against anyone personally or your talents, but we are looking for a very specific sort of storyline for this!
- Enter as many stories as you like! The more the better.
- Um... please ask questions if you have them. This is all I can think of.
- Ask questions and post responses here.
- NON OWNERS MAY ENTER TOO!
- Techs, I'm thinking it may be mandatory for you to make something. idk though. >3> I should make you guys work more though... *fufufu*
- Feel free to team up with one another and interlace your stories!
Setting:
The dragon wars were set historically in pre-Gamibino Isles Gaia. So a very simple, more medieval situation. A lot of gaia back in those days was fantasy setting, so you saw a lot of knights and nekogirls etcetc. No robots, no mp3players. neutral No ads... There was the art coliseum, the forums, Ian's shop, agatha's shop and the Dating-Connection little area... And that was it!
The dragons that lived in Gaia at this time were being pushed back... hiding in caves, retreating further into the forests and oceans. More and more were being hunted by knights...
A war broke out between them... and it depends on which side you ask what started the war. The dragons say that they were sick of the human's belittlement and aggression towards them, fighting their suppression and vying for the freedom of their fellow dragons before they would leave gaia all-together. The humans however, claim that they were pushing the dragons away, leaning towards self-defense. As the war raged on, the true cause of the war was forgotten.
The sides were known simply as the Coldbloods and the Warmbloods.
The sides were mixed as well, Dragons with Humanoid allies on one side, and humans with dragons who wished to stay on the other.
Many of the dragons who fought on the Warmbloods side would shapeshift to human form, more mindful of the sensitive nature towards such a massive creature. The Coldbloods thought of this as a form of 'racism' and suppression towards their kind.
The war took place between dimensions, a rift torn by great magicians in the fabric of their world. Time held still in this chaotic rift, lasting nearly 7 years of continuous fighting in this void... and yet to them, it felt as though it were a lifetime... And yet not a year age touched their skin!
No 'true' winner seemed to emerge from this battle... but the end result is obvious. As the coldbloods claim they were retreating to safer land, they were victorious in escaping.
For the warmbloods they continued life free of rampaging dragon attacks. Safe and happy with the few dragons they would see-- only small species, and well... Those that stayed with D-corp. That was a different story.
Note: Two of our old teachers were part of this, but no others; Lily and Blane.

Quoting a question from the thread to here; Don't want to loose any of them. ^^ And someone else might be curious. Kaho-kun So question about the mini event. What can we write about for the history, could you give a quick topic example? How much leeway do we have with it(obviously you have last say)? And off I go to post heart You get pretty wide reign! Mostly your restrictions are to the setting... so no advanced robotics, since its set further back in gaia's history (though gaia advanced rapidly) So an example would be "Nogard the great, a bold brass dragon who led a rebellion against a small town close to the mountain range. He took their princess hostage, demanding that his people cease being hunted, and soon became a hero among the Coldbloods. Eventually he and his wife were forced into the migration to the other dimension... He fought valiantly in the great rift battle, leading armies in the name of freedom. Fighting against the suppression. His most famous battle was one cold night, 3 years into the great war... -insert lengthy details here, story form!-. " But again you can come up with ~anything~ evil dragons, good dragons, evil people, good people, dragon slayers, dragon riders... etcetcetc! On a side note: You can think of it as around the time Gambino Isles was forming, Gino would have been a baby, and when it ended was probably when the first plot with gino showed up. (He looked so young back then! )

Here is a little something, lol I was thinking about this contest as I was running today so is it ok if I submit a series of letters between these people? Here is the first one. I took a history class this quarter and we used only letters recovered from the time to see how the people lived at the time so I thought it might be a good idea to try that here. If there are any comments go ahead and tell me so I can make sure its accurate to the storyline. I know its a little short but its what I have for the moment I will edit this post as I write the other letters. Letter To My Dearest Lauren, Today is the third day of Spring but still the birds remain silent. I don’t know if song will ever again return to this place. The front lines have been terrible, dragons charge us during the day and those traitorous humans who aid them sneak into our camps at night to destroy our supplies. They intend to starve us out and it looks like they might win. I had hoped to return to you by now, to see our children and plow our fields, but I hope all is well with those I left to care for you. Please don’t tell Rhodick how it is out here. No doubt he would come running but you need him more than we do. We seemed to be winning a few moons ago, the dragons had lost a lot of ground and seemed ready to retreat, but our own humanity seemed to condemn us to lose. The generals started splitting the spoils to early and rivalries sprang up over who should keep what lands in payment. GODS the war isn’t even over and they were deciding which land to take! Greedy bastards! The fights between the generals leaked into their men and we started fighting each other. No doubt the dragons watched with glee as they recovered. We weren’t attacked for nearly a week while we were killing ourselves. Then from out of no where it came. The dragons and their men charged us. I have no idea how they did it, sometimes I think they have gotten the forest to fight for them, but then I remember I am a practical man. Still it was a bloody night and one I am loathe to remember. I had already packed my things by then and was making ready to return to you, yes even I thought the battle over so I was far away from the worst of it. But I drew my Mace and dealt with those who got far enough. I have killed no dragons, I cant bring myself to do it. I hate the ones I see across the fields, sleeping and resting up to kill my comrades, but after the life I have lived I owe them to much. So I remain to guard our borders. I cant let them gain ground again we are only a weeks travel from the farm now and that’s only about 2 days flight for a dragon. I wont let them come to you my love. I promise you will never have to see this. Give Rhodick and the children my love and don’t forget to plant on time, the boys should be strong enough to help. But for the sake of the gods do not hire help this year. I have heard rumors that Dragons have gone into the countryside with the hopes of destroying homes to get our soldiers off the borders. Stay with the people you know this year, ask Rhodick to check them, he will know of their intentions. Please stay alive and safe, I will return to you one day. Do not forget me, Mathaias
