How do you define your reality? What you perceive everyday and the memories you collect and what you can touch, feel, and sense are what's really real, right? And many times, reality becomes mundane, stagnant, and just plain boring, so much that you wish you could just wipe everything in front of you away with just a wave of your hand and replace it with the reality you crave and truly wish to perceive. Who's to say it's not possible. You may say the sky is blue, but if everyone else perceived that the sky was purple, who is correct? You? Or the majority who believe the sky is purple? Now imagine what happens when the entire world becomes mundane, stagnant, and just plain boring, and everyone wishes so hard they could change their reality. What's to say they really can't?
Our story begins here, in a future earth in the year 2371. The world has seen peace for many years, at the price of a global government and strict law. And for the most part, the world is a decent place but the populace shamble about everyday like zombies with no ambition and no urge to change their lives since the government keeps them well cared for and comfortable. Not all are happy though with the state of the world, each having various reasons to be unhappy with what they called 'global tyranny'. The United World Government, commonly referred to as the UWG for reasons of keeping simplicity, is the organization that oversees all world affairs and controls nearly everything. The economy of the world would not exist if it wasn't for this entity. They keep the world in order, but humanity's growth has come to a halt seeing that scientific research and even things such as music and artwork are heavily regulated and very little is allowed to reach the public. Anything considered 'too mentally stimulating' is outlawed. Music and art can still be found in the form of contraband, sold in a black market style. Want to buy some Led Zeppelin? You better have a few grand to pay for it. Getting caught by the authorities means being carted off to one of the many 'Behavioral Reinforcement Centers' (a.k.a Brain Laundromats). Rebellions had sprung up before, only to be quickly crushed by the UWG's overwhelming numbers and superior firepower. So the world has stayed the same, with everyone plodding along day in and day out, waiting for the day their life ends.
Everything changed on the day of July 2nd, 2371, along with the lives of many people whose experiences would not only reshape who they were. It would reshape the very future of their reality. Chaos erupted, the shot being heard around the world coming in the form of the a massive explosion that leveled and killed nearly everyone in a Brain Laundromat not far from the former U.S. capitol. It was labeled a terroristic attack, and the world believed them, not realizing the impossibility of penetrating the security of such a place. The truth was that the explosion was caused by a single man who was killed in the blast, a feat he accomplished with no explosives. This was only the first incident. Strange happenings begun spanning the globe. Record breaking rain fall was recorded in the Atacama Desert, parts of Florida became blanketed in thick snow and ice. Giant trees were found in Siberian permafrost, thriving from unseen forces and ignoring the cold. The events became so numerous, the UWG even had trouble hiding it from the public, and murmurs began spreading everywhere that it was the end of the world. The reality was, it was only the beginning.
Thus begins the tale of a changing world, molded through the minds and power of humans who would soon come to be known as Manipulators.

United World Government- The world controlling entity that governs and polices the population. The UWG uses a variety of tactics to keep the population supressed including but not limited to restriction of personal rights, regulation of mentally stimulationg material, surveilance of homes, sanctioned assassinations of 'threatening' peoples, or even pumping pacifiying drugs into the air, food, and water. Their armies are massive and loyal and their firepower and technological advantages make it nearly impossible to try and oppose them considering civillians are barred access from all forms of self defense items. Any uprising in the past used crude weaponry crafted from scrap and garbage, which quickly helped lead to their downfall. They rule with an iron fist and zero tolerance for whatever they consider a threat to their 'peace'.
Manipulators- Both the heroes and villains of our story as well. The origins of their abilities are a mystery, but they have the ability to manipulate reality around them, usually in the form of something specific that matches their persona and characteristics. Little is still known about who has aquired these abilities or their full capabilities but what has been discovered scares the UWG. Reports of people conjuring fire from nothing, or causing a localized ice storm, to forming speciifc matter spontaneously from thin air. Many of these incidents defy logic, science and reason and the UWG is putting a multitude of resources forward to look into these incidents.
Danger Zones- Areas of the world beyond UWG control, usually places with extremes that make it too difficult to effectively populate and control such as deserts, tundra, jungles and mountainous areas. It's rumored that small amounts of people inhabit the areas, free of UWG control, but they attempt to squash these rumors, labeling it pure speculation, and controlling border areas to the Danger Zones in an attempt to anyone getting in or out. Trying to push into these zones has yielded disastrous results, seeing as many UWG soldiers who attempted such operations have turned up dead or not at all.
Advanced Technology- Laser and plasma based weaponry is becoming commonplace in this later era, but good old fashion bullets are used as well. Nanotechnology is used in a variety of ways as well including medical operations, physical treatments to augment people's behavior, even to clean water and 'eat' garbage. It's also rumored the UWG is in possession of new technology to create super soldiers. Cars don't fly, seeing as people are taxied about by UWG certified transporters and owning a personal vehicle is forbidden for most individuals. Powerful exo-skeleton suits are also used by the military, these armored and armed-to-the-teeth behemoths used only in emergencies, meaning an uprising. They are twice the size of any man, and come in a variety of different models ranging from models meant for close, quick combat to minor demolition and ordinance. Cybernetic prosthetics are also commonplace.
