For: Tari, Kali, Luka, Jezabroux.
Place: Gambino beach
Time: Morning

It was a beautiful morning in Gambino. The bright warm sun was offset by a refreshing breeze, which carried the scent of saltwater and sunscreen across the city. It was, therefore, a perfect day to go to the beach.

Tari had been up early, excited about the excursion. After weeks of annoying her mama, Kali had finally agreed to take Tari somewhere that wasn't one of Kali's shopping trips (which were not usual shopping at all, but hunts for rare spell ingredients).

"No shoping! No!" Tari had firmly stated, waving her armor claws around to enforce her point.

Recalling just how much trouble Tari had previously gotten into in two separate malls, Kali had agreed. Perhaps a change of location would decrease the trouble-making tendancies Tari had been developing lately. They ended up compromising on the beach, Tari having only visited once before for a gathering of all the Raevans at the time.

Now Tari flew out over the golden sand, hair streaming behind her as she darted alternatively away and back to her mama. Kali was amused that Tari almost blended in, with her gold armour and ribbons. Thankfully the beach wasn't crowded yet - the reason Kali had chosen the morning for their trip rather than afternoon when the beach was most popular.

"Sooooo good," Tari yelled, a giant smile beaming over her face. "Swim? Swim! Mama, Tari go swim?" By which Tari meant mostly hovering over the water and letting her ribbons trail in the ocean. Sometimes she ducked down to submerge the very bottom of her torso, but more often than not, the only way Tari got wet was if a wave surprised her.

"Tari," Kali called out in warning. "Back here first, please."

The Raevan pouted and floated back. Her arms crossed, talons rapping impatiently while she watched her mama set up an umbrella and chair. Out of a large bag came a familiar, and dreaded, bottle.

"Noooooo," whined Tari.

"Yeeees," Kali imitated her daughter. Her face was set and Tari knew she couldn't be able to change her mama's mind. Kali continued, "Gauntlets off."

With a quiet grumble, Tari removed the clawed gauntlets and handed them over. She watched them disappear into the large bag and mourned their loss. But the worst was yet to come.

Kali upended the bottle and squirted out white liquid. "Arms," she told Tari, who reluctantly held them out.

Tari wasn't still though. "Mamaaaa," Tari protested, squirming as her mother began covering the Raevan's pale skin in sunscreen. How very embarassing.

A weekend trip to his visit his parents had instead turned into a trip to the beach. With Luka restless from being trapped inside, the acupuncturist had decided for the perfect cure to be a walk on the beach. With the weather so nice, it seemed scandalous to do anything else other than than being outside enjoy it. Not to mention, it would be the Satyr's first time to see the glittering sea, hear the waves crash down or even feel the sand between his fingers. Just picturing his ward's expression had worked up Jezabroux into a frenzy.

"This way Luka." Jezabroux called out, leading the Frei to the sand. Forgoing his usual semi-formal apparel of slacks and a sweater, the man was dressed in a more casual and beach-appropriate attire composed of salmon colored shorts, a white tee and his good ole trusty sunglasses. His hair was tied up in a pony tail and In his left hand he held his flip-flops, preferring the feel of the sand on his feet. "Isn't the sea so pretty?" He asked his charge, turning to look at the blue that blended seamlessly with the blue of the clear Gambino skies. It was only February and already, the port city was have summer time weather. It would be a matter of time before the beaches were busy during all times of the day.

Luka floated after his guardian, the tail of his ribbon dragging in the sand. He had no feet, but he could still experience the sensations his guardian felt using his tail as an alternative. He bobbed up and down, weaving around his guardian as the bottled up energy from the past week threatened to break free. He was elated. The bright sunlight was providing the Raevan with one of the best meals he'd had in days, and his pale skill was glowing as an aftereffect. His rune shimmering livelier and even his eyes seemed more animated. "Elai!" He shouted exuberantly as he zipped around at a speed relative to a human's run. "Can go into water?" He asked, already floating inches above the ebbing tides that licked at the white sanded shore. Catching a nod from the tall acupuncturist, he tentatively tipped his ribbon into the water before bursting into the laughter and submerging himself to the waist in it.

He wasn't too worried about getting his clothing wet. Jezabroux had taken pains to help the Forsaken Light change into a worn t-shirt that he could dirty without worry. Floating back out the salty water, he waved to his guardian before flying around in circles on the surface.

Catching something glinting in the distance, Luka forgot about his guardian and the exciting new things around him. Eyes easily seeing past the glare of the sun, they focused in on the outline of two people. Casting a quick glance behind to see Jezabroux digging in the sand for something, Luka zipped toward the two figures and felt excitement flow through his body as he recognized one to be another Raevan like him.

Never mind that he was dripping wet, he called out to them. "Hullo! Black and yellow girlie like Luka have name?" He asked as he approached Tariel and her guardian. Getting over the initial excitement of running into another one of his kind on the beach, amber eyes stared at Tariel as they took in her stunning appearance. From her metallic wings to her sharp green eyes, he liked it all. Not as much as Cloudy, but this stranger was doing a god job of coming in second as his favorite double collared eagle.

Tari perked up as someone began speaking, and looked over her shoulder. When she saw it was another Raevan, her struggles against her mama grew frantic. "Let go, let go," she insisted. A final swipe of sunscreen across her nose and Tari was released - which of course meant she tumbled in Luka's direction, ending up nose to nose with him in the air.

"Hihi! Tari is Tari. And you is... Luka? Yes?" Tariel looked very proud of herself for working out the Raevan's name. She puffed up and gave Luka a bright smile. "Is Raevan, like Tari. Though flat chest - Luka is boy? Luka is swim? Go swim? Tari swim!"

The golden Raevan didn't notice that Luka's ribbons were already wet, indicating he'd already been 'in' the water. She was too busy bouncing up and down in the air, the excitement of a beach visit now combined with meeting a new Raevan friend. At least she'd remembered Kali's rule of Tari not grabbing her own breasts in front of people.

Her job done, Kali flopped back into the chair she'd set up and watched on lazily. Her tanned skin wasn't prone to burning, but even so she'd put up the big beach umbrella just in case. As long as she kept one eye on Tari, Kali thought she'd earned the time to relax. The other Raevan's guardian would be around somewhere, too. She might have to meet and greet, but at least it was nice and warm here... The dragon in her hummed contentedly.

Luka smiled in a bemused manner as he suddenly found himself face to face with Tariel with only centimeters between them. When she poke, he stared at her for a few seconds trying to process her words. Certainly he was more proficient at speech now than he was 5 months ago as a newborn, but the war angel’s rushed speech was making it difficult for the Satyr to catch all the words that left her mouth. ”Yes, name is Luka.” He reiterated, placing a hand over his chest in a manner he had seen his guardian do multiple times before when trying to teach Luka his name. ”And yes, am a Raevan. A boy Raevan, like Tari says, does not have that.” He said looking at Tariel’s breasts.

At the mention of swimming he nodded, another smile forming on his lips. ”Would Tai like to swim with Luka?” He asked, holding out a hand for the war angel.

It had taken the acupuncturist less than a second to realize that that Luka was not in his line of sight, and his first inclination had been to think that perhaps Luka had gotten lost. No so, Jezabroux could spot those persimmon wings from where he was standing. And it seemed as if Luka had found a playmate! Not wanting to seem like a bad guardian, Jezabroux pushed his sunglasses higher up his nose and made his way towards the two playing Freis.

In no time, he reached Luka and Tariel. Giving the area a quick scan, he spotted a young lady reclining under a beach umbrella occasionally looking up to watch the two Raevans. He took that as a sign that the woman was indeed the guardian for Luka’s unknown playmate and went to introduce himself. “I take it you’re the guardian to the lovely young lady playing with Luka right now?” Giving Kali a smile, he held out his hand for her. “Jezabroux Ferenan, Luka’s guardian.”

No one could say that Tari's speech was by any means good. But what she lacked in vocabulary, she made up for with enthusiasm. A lot of enthusiasm. Almost dancing in the air, the golden Raevan beamed at her newest friend. "Nice to meet, Luka! Ooh, yes, Tari and Luka swim. Yes, please."

Tari placed her recently de-gauntleted hand in Luka's. Shooting the boy a bright smile, she waited for him to lead on.

Under the umbrella, Kali watched them go with a smile. That was her Tari, making friends everywhere she went. Hopefully there wasn't too much mischief for them to get into at the beach.

She glanced up as a man approached and introduced himself. Sunglasses were pushed atop her head as she sat up to shake the offered hand. "Yes, that's my troublesome little angel-Raevan," she smiled wryly. "I'm Kalindaralaea - don't bother twisting your tongue into knots, everyone just calls me Kali. And my girl with the golden armor is Tariel."

Not that anyone called Tari by her full name either, even if it was short. Tari couldn't be bothered pronouncing the whole thing, so she never asked others to do the same.

"A pleasure to meet you, Jezebroux. Pull up a chair or a towel," Kali indicated both folded up near the base of the umbrella. "No sense burning while we keep an eye on our children. Luka, you said was your Raevan's name?"

Luka gave Tariel a reassuring smile as he led her towards the shore. The waves were gentle this early in the morning, lapping at the sandy bar as it left behind foam. "Tari has swim before or first time?" Not quite waiting for her response, he floated into the water and let the saline liquid wash over the very tip of his ribbon. It was a tingling sensation, yet cool and soothing at the same time. Moving out further away from the shore, he sank deeper into the ocean water until only the upper half of his rune was expose. The rest submerged into the inky depths of the cool water. "Does Tari live on Gam-bean-o?" He asked.

It would make sense as to why he had failed to meet her until now. "Luka lives in Durem with Elai." Watching the war angel with lively eyes, he splashed her lightly with the sparkling water. A mischievous smile sitting on his lips.

Jezabroux nodded. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Kali." He responded, a light smile on his lips. As per her suggestion, he grabbed a chair and set it up beside Kali under the beach umbrella. Reaching inside the beach bag he had brought, he pulled out a colorful beach towel and draped it over the chair before sitting down in the shade. "Tariel? That is certainly a unique name. It makes me think of Gabriel, Uriel and those other arch angels." He watched as the silhouettes of Luka and Tariel edged along the water.

"And yes, Luka. It's a rather simple name. No real significant meaning behind it. Just kind of struck me when I first saw him." He chuckled, the memory still vivid in his mind. "If I may, may I ask what Miss Tariel's soul and essence is?" It was still mind blowing to think about the different Raevans that resulted from the strange combination of those two elements. "Luka's happens to be Forsaken Light and Satyr, fel essence and soul respectively."
