It was a nice warm winter morning. A bit weird because this winter was specifically cold, freezing, even. Rabbit Heart had just finished enjoying a nice meal and even though she wasn't full yet she decided she didn't need any more food and she has gained the energy she needed for the day. It was time for a rest now. She always loved laying on the ground after having breakfast. She was walking slowly towards her favourite spot, admiring the beauty of nature, staring at every little reflection of the sun in the pure white snow.
She finally got to that old tree under which she would hide whenever she felt like the whole world was against her, and like she had nobody to rely on which was true, sometimes. She just felt a sort of comfort, sitting there, with the tall branches of the tree. It was as if they were protecting her and whenever it was windy she could swear that the tree was actually talking to her. This tree was also her and her older brother's favourite spot when she was little. She thought about him every now and then, and missed him every single day. Ever since he died she had become even quieter. She was always seen alone, as if she was straying from other kimeti just because she didn't think they would like her. She always thought someone only liked her thanks to her bigger brother because he was everything she wasn't. He was brave, funny, extroverted while she... she was a shy, quiet doe. Nobody really paid any attention to her and maybe she liked it that way but she couldn't lie to herself. She felt so lonely every now and then and it was killing her. She couldn't live on her own anymore...

Candid was in a cheerful mood. The weather was unusually warm and wanting to make the most of it, he decided to go for a walk after his breakfast. Humming softly to himself as he looked around, the buck failed to notice a rather large tree root in his path. With a silent horror, he scrambled to save himself, but it was too late. A grunt and a second later, the buck was lying face-first in the mud. He was no longer in the mood to hum.

As she was laying underneath the big tree, with her eyes closed, a mysterious smile on her face, admiring the warmth of the air she suddenly heard a bump. Her ears twitched and stood up on her little white head immediately. She got on her feet in a split second, her smile erased. She started looking around in panic. She was all alone. There was no one to protect her. What, if something was preying on her?
"H..h...hello?" her voice trembling a bit as she made a few steps back, towards the tree's trunk, her head looking around so fast it looked like she had no head but rather a big white blur.

With a sigh, Candid rolled onto his back, lying there whilst recomposing himself, but at the sound of the trembling voice, he shot up. He certainly didn't want to meet anyone -- let alone a stranger -- in this state, so he quickly rubbed his face against a nearby tree, attempting to scrape off some of the mud. Alas, all he did was spread it around more.
He looked around for the owner of the voice, but not being able to find the source, he called out to the trees, "Uh... hi! I'm Candid. I'm sorry, if I woke you or something, I didn't mean to disturb you..." As he talked, Candid walked towards where he thought the "hello" could have came from.

Suddenly, the voice was speaking to her, yet she still did not know who it was coming from but... it sounded like a male's voice and he didn't sound dangerous but Rabbit Heart couldn't trust anyone. So with a few silent leaps, in hopes to avoid meeting anyone she tried to get away from there without being noticed.
That's when she noticed him. He looked ridiculous with all of the mud on his face. Surely, a creature so clumsy couldn't be a danger to anyone. At least she hoped so. She stood there looking at him. A giant grin on her face appeared right before she started giggling at the sight. A giggle that no one had really heard in the longest time.

The giggling was a joyous noise, bubbling out from the doe and towards the buck. He snapped his head around to find a beautiful doe, instantly reddening at the sight of her. She was a dainty creature, with ivory melding into green, and a bloom painted across her back. And her eyes, although laughing, held a certain sadness. He stared in wonderment for a good moment before he caught himself. "Candid, milady. At your service," and here he dropped an absurd looking bow, laughing along with the doe. And if Candid could be counted on one thing, it was being candid. "Has anyone ever told you that you're beautiful?"

The buck was a handsome one. Tall, light and now, Rabbit heart was barely even noticing all the mud on his face and body. She was looking straight into his beautiful bright eyes. As the buck bowed right in front of her, and at the very sound of his voice she stopped giggling, realizing it would be rude to say the least. But a smile on her fave remained. It was mysterious and small and she wondered how long had it been since she last smiled.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Candid. My name is Rabbit Heart" she said, as her head bowed down gracefully. When she lifted it up to look at him again, he was watching her. Looking at her a way nobody else ever had. It made her feel uncomfortable as she had never been looked at like that before and had no idea what this look meant. When the words came out of his mouth she could barely keep her head from turning backwards and scanning the area for another doe.
She wasn't sure how to respond to that. She had never heard those words directed at her.
"I... um... well... no, not really..."

"Rabbit Heart..." He repeated her name slowly, as if committing it to memory. "What a curious name." "Well, Rabbit Heart, you are beautiful, don't let anyone tell you differently. I'm not really one to lie, you know," he said, chuckling to himself. He realised that he was staring again and dropped his gaze. "I'm sorry I couldn't have met you on a better day. I'm not normally this... dirty. Wasn't looking where I was going and fell into a puddle. Heh." He sneaked another quick look at her and smiled sheepishly. Hmm... was he making this awkward? "Uh... what are you doing out here all alone?"
