Helloo.
I finally found someone to adopt my giant algae eaters, so now I have more room in my tanks. I was wondering if you guys had some tankmate suggestions!
Tank 1 (20g) 1 Blue Dwarf Gourami 1 Red Dwarf Gourami (I think that's what it's called) 1 Cory
Tank 2 (20g) 3 Zebra Danios 3 Platies
I'll most likely get some more cories to keep my lone one company (I was afraid my algae eater would kill the small ones the pet store sells!), but other than that I'm not sure!
Sorta interested in angelfish.. I've done all kinds of swords and mollies and guppies and snails already. Something new would be fun!
Any ideas?

Tank 1-
~Rehome of those Dwarf Gouramis. ~Get atleast 2 more corries OF THE SAME KIND. The reason for the empasiss there, alot of people like to the think that all corries school ,but they dont. They only school with others of the same kind.
Also, what kind of corry is it? Emerald Corries are not corries at all and will get about 5+ inches long. If thats what you have, I suggest you rehome it also, ASAP.
-Tank 2
~Maybe get 3 more Zebra Danios. I would hate to see your platties get nipped up. Othen then that, a couple Guppies, maybe. Or even move one of you Dwarf gouramis into this tank, and add the other Danios (zebras).
On a side note, you do not have the room for an Angel fish. They need 55 gallons. Nor do you have the room for any commonly sold Plecostamis, unless you can find a Bristlenose. I have one in my 20 long, and that is even the very minimum for these guys, as the poop alot (plus, my tank is very understocked)

platies have been fine with the danios.
why do you say to rehome the gouramis? they seem pretty content together.
i forget exactly what kind of cory it is. not an emerald. i think it's full-sized now at 1.5".. i do believe it's a schooling one. sold everywhere.

I would suggest only keeping one Gourami per tank. They are bratty, its in their nature (unless its a Honey or Sparkling Gourami. They dont really care about much lol). Its up to you if you rehome or not, but I read your post in sections, so I said that before I got to your second tank. One of them could go in the second tank.
As long at the Danios arent being nippy, then you should be fine. Some people really have bad luck with keeping them in small groups like that.
All Corries are schoolers lol They just dont like to school with different types of Corries (unless you really, really freek them out, but then its only untill they feel safe again). Where did you get it? I know some chain stores only sell certain types of Corries (like PetSmart only sells Albino's and sometimes Pepper's)

Dwarf Groumis, in my experience, are not aggressive or even fin nippy if there is only one male present. The same can be said about Pearls. Though a lot of the other species do get territorial and can be a little bit on the semi-agressive side.
If they are not acting that way now, odds are it is fine.
I would suggesting getting 2 more cories, since they are shoaling and would enjoy the like company. Since you think they are not Emeralds.
A good, hardy fish for the asian fish tank ( Tank one ) may be cherry barbs, rummynose tetras, or harlequin raspboras. They would all do nicely in those temperate. No more than three of any one though. Do not want to kill your bio load.
ALSO. You could combine the tanks.... or at least relocate the Danios. The you have a tank with three platies you could make into a breeder tank or just go in a different direction.
As far as Angelfish go, I would not recommend them in tanks this size. They are cichlids, meaning, AGGRESSIVE. They also are fragile and not the hardest.
