Darkness had spread across the land. Stars slowly began to emerge from their hiding spots, twinkling happily in the sky as if communicating with one another. The moon had casted her silver glow, lightning up the dark with her giant form. At the borders where the Pridelands met the Southlands sat a pale skin-toned lioness, contemplating her life. “It has been a while since I have been out here,” she said quietly, her tail flicking on the ground tiredly. She had spent her whole life in the lands that she was born in, but it was time to go. She was tired of the same life over and over, every single day. She wanted adventure; she wanted to follow her dreams. If she stayed here, she knew that it would never happen.
Without given it another thought, she stood, and crossed into the rogue territory. There was no more protection of the pride, she was now on her own. A smile caressed her maw, “Time to start my adventure.” Otea stated.

“Hey! Hey! ‘tea! Wait!” a lion from behind in the lands bounded after the female. “Wh—Where are you going?” Suoh asked, once he caught up with the female. “It’s dark, you shouldn’t be out here alone! And besides, what are you doing in this territory! You are past the Pridelands borders. Come on, let’s turn around. You’re not safe out here.” Her cousin had said, trying to push her back into the pride’s land.

“Suoh…Suoh…Suoh stop pushing me. I’m not going back.” Otea stated.
“…What…? Why? All your family is here…Why would you want to leave?”
“That’s just it Suoh. ALL my family is here,” she took this time for her blue eyes to look into his brown eyes. “We are both related to the great king Mufasa and queen Sarabi. I want to live a life where I don’t pass other lions who know our lineage. Besides, don’t you ever get the feeling you are just needed elsewhere?” Otea asked.
“…” Suoh was silent.
“No…Can’t say that I have.” This was a lie. Suoh always had the feeling of being somewhere else. Perhaps, he had always thought, it was a drive to find his father. His mother was never really talkative of the male, and Kilo never really spoke about wanting to meet him, but Suoh was the opposite. He wanted to know why the male had left his mother, or why he left him.

“…Well…I do!” She said, matter-of-factly. She pushed past her cousin, turning around to meet his gaze once again. “I know you don’t want me to go, but I need to do this for myself.”
Suoh shifted on his paws. His charcoal ears flicked against his poofy silver mane. With a sigh, he shook his head. “I am not letting you go on your own then,” a smirk rose to his maw. “with a pretty little coat like yours you will attracting all sorts of creatures. You will need someone to protect you!” Suoh puffed out his chest. If he was a cub, it would have looked cute, but now, it was just a little awkward.
“And let me guess. You are just the bodyguard for me, huh?” She grinned, poking at his puffed up chest.
Suoh immediately deflated. “Hey!” he gasped. “Why, yes. Yes I am!”

“I think you missed the part where I just wanted to get away from the family.”
His ears drooped. “Oh… I see.” He turned around on his paws, now facing Priderock. “I…I guess I will just let you be on your own then.”
“Suoh…you know that’s not what I meant. Suoh, come back here!” she bounced back into the Pridelands territory. “I just want this time to explore on my own. And then, I will come back, and we can have a family adventure! But I just want some time to spend on my own, you know?” She asked.
“Yeah,” he snapped at her. “You just want to be alone, I get it.” Suoh was a little younger than Otea, but he had always looked up to her. Right now, he was acting just like a cub, throwing a tantrum.

“You are so thick sometimes Suoh. I don’t want to be alone…I—“
“You just don’t want to be with family.”
“Su—“
“No, Otea. I get it. Fine, go have your little adventure! Maybe I’ll have an adventure of my own. Maybe I won’t even come back.” He huffed, still pointing towards priderock. “But at least I have the decency to let my mother know I am leaving. I sure you probably didn’t tell either of your parents you were going.”
“..I…” she contemplated for a moment. She hadn’t told her parents where she was going, nor did she tell her brothers or sisters. “You’re right…I didn’t….But I don’t need them worrying about me. Besides,” she said softly, watching him. “I am an adult. I can take care of myself; on the contrary of what many believe. I am not a princess, and I don’t need to be pampered like one.

“Hmph. Is that so?”
“YES! My god, Suoh.”
Suoh glared at the female. “Fine. Do what you want, I don’t care!” The male stalked off, back to the pridelands in which he had been born in. He would have his own adventure one day, but it wouldn’t be now. Obviously Otea wanted no part of him or the family so he would respect her wishes and leave her alone. He did wish that her journey would be safe. He loved her like a sister, and would be devastated if he found out that something had happened to her. He slowed down as he reached the giant rock formation, turning back around. Otea was gone. “Good luck…Otea…”
“Suoh---“ but he had already run. Otea wasn’t going to go after him. This was her adventure, and sometimes that may cause for some causalities. It just was a shame those causalities had to be amongst one of her family members. She sighed, turning back around and entering the rogue lands once more. “Sorry, Suoh,” she whispered, flashing her bright blue gaze towards priderock before loping off. Once she was out of the pridelands sight, she turned around and stood. She remembered what he had said about wanting to start his own adventure, and smiled. “When it comes time to start your own journey, Suoh, I wish you luck.” She would let the wind carry her words into the void of the night. Whether they would be heard upon the silver-maned lion’s ears, she would never know.
