Hey, I've been experimenting with sweeps on my bass. Sweeping basically is the technique (usually done with a pick on the guitar) were you simply strum each individual string going from the lower the higher pitched strings and then back to the lower ones. This is done while hammering on multiple notes for each string, You have to have very fast and accurate left-handed technique for this to sound good.
So, am I the first person to really try to impliment this into my bass playing or are there others, because I haven't really seen anyone do this with a bass.
Btw, I use my thumb with this technique, I hate picks.

Pyro and I screw around with it once in a while.

I goof with it. I'm not good at it, but i'm getting better. Might actually use it in a song and harmonize a sweep with the lead.

a sweep is sick. you have to be really good because i know it's hard as hell as is on guitar...nvm bass..good luck to you guys

i sweep with my thumb too... I dont really like sweeps though... they are over rated and over used...
Billy Sheehan does it a lot... there's actually a lot of bassist that Ive heard that do it... Ive also seen Victor Wooten do it...
