Sayre look up at the sun then back at the ground. Where was she! She was waiting for the brown vixen named Nora. Ever since Nora was a kit she would ask Sayre about the ways of Sticky Paws. So, Sayre promised when she was older she would teach her. Sayre thought she would cut her some slack, just this once! She plopped her butt down and waited under a shady tree on the edge of a dessert.
Sayre ran over some things in her head, things to remember, things to bring when going 'out', How to distract humans, the works. Sayre smirked remember her days back in the Ninth Band. Those were the days! She chuckled to herself and continued making mental notes.

Nora ::: Nora booked it over the hills heading for the desert where she was going to meet Sayre. "Man I wish I had wings like Sayre, that would make this all so much easier.", she panted out as she ran. As she approached the desert she saw Sayre underneath a shade tree. "Finally I'm here!". "Hey! Sayre! Im here, sorry I'm late but it was a lot longer of a run then I thought it was going to be." she huffed out as she approached Sayre. She sat next to her under the tree.

Sayre looked over the panting vixen and laughed. "You're gonna have to work on that Kiddo. Running is very important in the ways of Sticky Paws." Sayre knew that from experience. "Shall we get started?" Sayre grinned and she pawed the sand excitedly. She was ready to teach, and to nab a few things on her own. She prayed to the Deities that the girl could catch on the the teachings.

Nora ::: "Yea Im ready.",she told Sayre. "So what is the first lesson going to be about?", She looked at Sayre expectantly, "Im so excited to start!" She watched Sayre paw the sand. Thinking it was important she did the same untill her paws were brown and dirty with sand.

"Ok. First le-" Sayre sneezed as sand got into her nose. Nora was pawing the ground making a cloud of sand. "What are you doing?" She blinked at the fox. "Anyways... Let's practice how quiet and sneaky you can be." Sayre pointed at a patch of trees. "In there I have hidden something. You have two minutes to find it and brink it back." Sayre smiled. "With out making a single sound." Little did Nora know, Sayre littered the paths with rocks, branches and trip wires, for a first timer, this would be difficult to get through with out making noises.

Nora ::: Nora looks at Sayre as she talked about the first lesson. "Okay that seems easy enough, I can do that.", she said with confidence. Nora trotted over to the tree looking around. She potted a lot of twigs and things littering the ground. Deciding to go for it she walked quickly but causiously twoard the base of the tree. She stepped lightly over the twigs, gaining confidence. Nora sped up dodging the twigs but then suddenly she was tripping end over end, something had caught her leg. She flew into rocks, twigs and more wires. When she finally stopped she looked up tword Sayre. "Ow.....", she choked out embarassed.

Sayre chuckled. "Need some help in there?" She knew the vixen most likely wasn't going to make it, not many foxes could, but it was not a bad first try. "There is a trick to this lesson, but you have to figure out on your own." Sayre smiled at Nora, hoping to encourage her not to give up. "So now you have a few choices. First, you can try again, second, you can try my next lesson, and third, you can say that the ways of sticky paws isn't for you and go home."

Nora :::"I will keep trying!",Nora said with confidence," I dont want to give up before I've even started. She untangled herself and got up walking carfully to Sayre. She turned back around and decided to go for it. Carefully she picked her way through the 1st section reaching where she messed up the first time. Looking around she saw a tripwire, carefully making sure her back paws didn't hook onto it she steped over. Taking in her surroundings she decided on her next move, to jump onto the boulder a foot or so next to her. She landed the jump and looked over her surroundings. Seeing more sticks and tripwires she slid her paws next to the sticks moving them out of her way as she walked so not to make any sound. Slower then the 1st try she made her way over a few more tripwires, reaching the tree. Nora looked at Sayre," Up in the tree right?"

Sayre watched the vixen start to get the hang of it. "It could be." She smiled. She wasn't just going to say yes or no. Then again... Sayre did plant decoys through out the area. Hopefully the vixen could tell the difference between an imitation and the real thing. She sat back and chuckled a bit, she was proud that Nora wasn't giving up too easily.

Nora :::Nora climbed up into the tree looking about seeing about 7 different necklaces. Different colors and shapes. "She must want me to find the one with real value.", she muttered to herself. She grabbed three of them comparing them. They all looked shiny and pretty, how was she going to find out which one was the real one. Looking down at the bracelet that Sayre had given her she had an idea. Picking up the 1st of them she knocked it against her bracelet. *clunk* "Hmmm that dosent sound right," she said ,"Lets try this one next". *ping!* "That sounds much better, like the stone is the same type.", she exclaimed. She repeated the process with all of the different necklaces, finding that 3 of them made pleasent sounds as if knocking two of the same type of stones together by the river. Grabbing them she put them over her neck before sliding down the tree and taking the path back through the debry twoard Sayre. "Here I think I did alright. My first instinct was to just take all of them but that would have been to easy.", she said as she took the necklaces of giving them to Sayre.

"Not bad." Sayre nodded in approval. She did well. Though only one of the necklaces were real, but she did well enough to move on. "How about we move on to the next lesson. It can be either balance or camouflage." Both lessons were rather fun in Sayre's book. Her tail flicked and she looked up at the sun. After another lesson Sayre will show Nora how to get water from a cactus and show her the nearest oasis.

Nora :::She looked at Sayre hoping for approval when Sayre said she did well she got a big smile on her face and her tail flicked back in forth. Thinking about what Sayre said about the next lesson she decided on camoflauge. "Lets do some camoflauge! That sounds like fun", she told the vixen she so looked up to. "First though, which one is real? I tried to match the stones with the sounds knowing that the one you gave me must be real or you never would have gotten it in the 1st place.", she laughed happily.

"Smart move kiddo!" Sayre pushed forward the dullest looking necklace. "This is the real one. I'll show you." Sayre used her fire to heat the necklace a bit, then used the fluff around her neck to polish it, the rubbed it on her fur. After she was dun the necklace shined and shimmered.
"Camouflage eh? Good choice." Sayre led the way to an old thieves cave. She spent many night in the cave with her former band. She pulled out a large box. "In here are a bunch of supplies. From scent concealment to stuff to color your fur. Your goal is to hide from me." Sayre smiled and wandered to the back of the cave. "Holler when you are finished and I will count to 60 and try come find you."

Nora ::: "Oh okay that makes sense.", Nora said as she watched Sayre polish the stone. They walked to a cave together, Sayre seemed quite comfortable so Nora relaxed as they entered. Nora listened as Sayre explained what the items in the box she opened were used for. Nodding that she understood she watched Sayre disappear into the back of the cave.
Nora grabbed a jar of mucky stuff that was close to the same color as the brown part of her fur. Figuring that her brown coloring will help her blend in she rubbed the contents of the jar into the bright blue of her tail and hair and the white patterns on her paws. Once she was completely brown she looked at her surrounding to take inspiration from. Since the ground was littered with leaves and sticks she used some string in the box to tie some of the debris into her tail and hair. Nora rubbed a substance in another jar to blackout her various piercings and wrapped a dark ragged cloth round her beautiful bracelet. Taking off her shades she set them in the box for safe keeping during her lesson.
Now it was time to hide. There were a few places to hide like behind the boulders in the corner or the small hole that formed at the bottom of a crack in the wall. Figuring those would be obvious she decided to move to a dark portion of the cave and dug a hole deep enough to hide her body in. She sunk into her hole and filled in the extra areas with dirt, throwing it up ontop of her along with some more twigs and leaves.
"READY SAYRE!", she yelled hoping she did a good enough job.

Sayre counted down from sixty. "Ok Kiddo. Here I come!" She sauntered out from the back of the cave. She went to the edge and examined the sand. There were no signs of prints, so she assumed she was somewhere in the cave, "Interesting..." Sayre looked around. She knew this cave like the back of her patterned paw. Sayre sniffed the cave, subtle smells of the vixen were around. She looked around and noticed some scattered leaves and twigs. If someone wasn't paying attention ed it would be missed.
Sayre quietly snuck up on the things. She noticed that loose dirt. She used her tail to sweep away the dirt and other things to reveal a completely brown Nora. "Not bad kiddo. Maybe if you weren't hiding from me you would have gotten away with it." Sayre chuckled and helped Nora out. "Before out next lesson how about I take you to the oasis so you can wash off?" Sayre smiled at the vixen. "Unless you prefer to be covered in muck." Sayre laughed again.
