So tell me fellow guildmates, what is(are) your favorite genre(s)?
Mine would fall into RTS (Real Time Strategy), RP (Role Playing), and Beat-em-ups.
RTS because I love base building and amassing armies to do my bidding. I also like gathering resources for some strange reason.
RP because I love to level up my RP character and engage fearsome enemies of epic proportions and emerge victorious. Then there's always the item hoarding and stat grinding, lol.
Beat-em-ups because I find it fun as hell to beat the living crap out of everything that comes onto the screen with relative ease. *Looks at Dynasty Warriors*

Honestly? I am unsure of precisely the genre, but what I typically enjoy most are action-adventure games with a few RPG elements such as leveling, equipment, and stats. But I like being able to move around freely rather than turn-based gameplay, I like to explore in large areas and discover hidden areas and items, and I like to be able to have a wide variety of gear and items at my disposal. This closely ties into a lot of dungeon crawler games, and I adore dungeon crawlers as well, but the best examples I can give of my favorite would be Fable: The Lost Chapters and most newer Castlevanias.
So... action-RPG? Adventure-RPG? Action-Adventure RPG? I was never really sure.

1st person shooter - Call of Duty and Halo were amoung the first games I've played and the franchises have always been entertaining.
Role-playing - Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls, and Diablo have always been among my favorites.

My favorite genres would be Survival horror, Fighting and RPGs.
Survival horror because I love the thrill of walking in a dark hallway and creepy music playing.
Fighting games are really fun with friends.
RPGs it's fun to equip new items and level up to fight an enemy.

RPGs first and foremost. I've loved them since playing Dragon Warrior on the NES like 20 years ago.
Fighting games. I love love love them, but I suck at them terribly. Particularly fighting games of the 2D persuasion.
Action-Adventure. The most broad genre ever, but I'd include games like Bayonetta, Darksiders, God of War, in this genre. I enjoy them more if they have a good character progression system too.
Honestly though, I'll play just about anything, though I have to really be in the mood to play sports games, or with friends to play most FPS's.

RTS - I've been addicted to them since I was 4. RPG - I love leveling and strategizing based on stats. Sandbox action/adventure games - who doesn't love running around killing people?

Rpg and FPS without any doubt, a close up caller is hack and slash games, mindless violence like DMC is great. And assassins creed of course. But RPG and FPS without any doubt.

Although I do play FPS's more than I do RPG's. I would say that RPG is my favorite game genre. Not only does each game give you countless hours of gameplay but, the storyline and character depth really makes you feel like you are in the game. Each game has it's own story and as you go from RPG to RPG, you experience many different worlds that you never thought possible. This great gameplay along with EPIC boss battles, both great & annoying party members and the ability to work hard to get the best weapon in a game... is what I believe makes RPG the best genre.
