Entry one, "The Dreaming Drow"

The young Drow Rauvinil lays in her garden, sleeping in the fading evening light, on her chest is the demonic spell book she had been reading. as a student of Demonology she had been studying all day, unfortunately the long hours of study have caught up to her. she was drifting in dreams of her childhood deep in the under dark before she was sent to the surface world. she started to squirm in her sleep as the dream turned dark, that fateful night, the reason she was sent.

With in the quickly turning nightmare she remembered that night of fire and blood, one of the young males had tried to summon something from one of there teachers books. instead he opened a gate into one of the layers of the abyss, he was lucky and got killed first, before mother got a hold of him. She remembers all of the running and screaming, she was only 20 when this happened, still a small child in her peoples eyes. She hid in an empty wardrobe, she could see through the slightly cracked door the other students running for there lives from undead monstrosity. After all of then left or were killed and being eaten, she herd something sniffing at the doors of the wardrobe. Before she could say anything a gast wrapped the doors off of it's hinges and hungrily lept at her. she covered her face closed her eyes and waited to the end, but all she herd was a thunk and the screaming of the gast. as her eyes opened there before her was a tall demon. He had Ebony skin with almost matching colored hair, she could see 6 small horns, almost like a crown adorning his head, 3 on each side of his head. he was smiling at her, his curving blade still through the Gast, she was almost mesmerized by his nearly glowing emerald eyes. he opened his mouth to say something to her, but before he could she held up her hands and lobed a fireball at an approaching undead. the demon looked at the rigging pile of semi-sentient meat thrashing around trying to get the fire off of it and laughed. she was wide eyed as he turned back to her tires still falling despite herself, he reached over to her and with a six fingered hand gently brushed away some of them.
"Tears don't suet the Drow." he said his voice was elegant and silky. he smiles and picked her up starting out of the room fighting everything that came for them happily. she lobed her spells when she could, though they hurt very few of the monsters, but it still made the demon that held her smile. she didn't understand, why was he helping her, why did he carry her like this. when they got to the second floor he set her down on a table and sat in a chair himself. "why...." she had a hard time finding her words and she tried to finish her sentence but was cut off by the demon. "I feel like it." he said with a dark smile. "besides don't look a gift horse in the mouth." he said before ruffling her hair. she sat on the table and watched him find a chair and sit in it. that is when she realized his legs where shaped like a backwards z, it was a crud assessment but that was the best her young mind could come up with. "what is your name Drow?" he said looking back over at her. she looked back at him, 'if it wasn't for the horns he would look a lot like a male Drow, just handsomer.' she thought to herself before answering. "Rauvinil..." she was able to squeak out hating herself to this day that she couldn't keep her voice from cracking so. "Cave flower." he said with a laugh understanding the meaning of her name. he then stood with a dark smile "my name is Graz'zt, and i wish you luck in living little flower." he said before leaving the room, leaving her there alone. she stayed put tell the sounds of the combat die down, she then finds her way outside to the waiting teachers.

She woke in the garden as something cold fell into her lap, she sat up with a start and looked down to see as small black orb with a ribbon wrapped around it. it seamed to pulsate on her lap. she smiled at it "where did you come from?" she said picking up the cold yet warm object and tacking it inside the both of them getting out of the cold night air. she put her book back on the shelf of her library, most of the books there just copes of her teachers vast collection. "Graz'zt..." she muttered to herself lightly remembering the strange dream/nightmare. her thoughts where interrupted by a sharp "WARK" coming from the near by window. she looked over at her Chocobo Aki and smiled "what?" she asked walking over to the window where the large birds head was coming in from. the black feathered Chocobo nudged the hand that the small orb was in. "what you like this?" she asked her faithful steed who just warked again in response. she felt the strange orb shutter in her hand, "hay Aki i think it's alive." she said looking down at it again before looking back at the Chocobo who made a happy wark as a response, she looked back down at the orb, the strange nightmare still in her head. "I'll name you...Graz'zt." she says gently running her thumb across the orb before chuckling at herself the her very strange fascination with the orb.

Entry two, "To Clime The Mountain"

Rauvinil sat in her class of 5 students learning how to go from just a simple Black Mage to a powerful Demonologist. Her teacher is a Tiefling meaning she has demon somewhere in her ancestry, no one in the class minded at all. Today though Rauvinil wasn't paying much attention to class, she was instead looking down at the small black orb in her hand. Her mind wasn't able to leave it as she stared at it, her red eyes as transfixed on the object as her mind. That was tell a calm clawed hand was placed on her shoulder, "Daydreaming is all fine and good my dear but please not in my classroom." The kind voice of her teacher pulling her up from her thoughts as she looked at the teacher and then to the other chuckling students. "i am sorry mam i was distracted it won't happen again..." the smile her teacher gave to her showed her darker ancestry, "well just to be sure there is an assignment for each of her to gather special ingredients, you my dearest little flower must go to the icy peak of the near by mountain and get me the wings of the ice imps that dwell there." she said darkly. Rauvinil nodded and then glared at the other snickering students.

Later on that day she had Aki completely packed up and ready to go she had 3 days to gather her ingredient and she was going to need every last one. the mountain was known as storm spire, and even with a Black Chocobo it is difficult to climb. She looked at the two strange orbs she decided sense one was given to her by a snake the cold might not be the best thing for it. So she put it in a magically protected box and started off slipping Graz'zt into a specially enchanted pouch that will only open when she wishes and won't fall off. She got on Aki's back and started off towards the hellish mountain, she know where the imps resided and she didn't want to go there even though she had little choice. they flow around in a cave near the top of the horrible wind swept mountain.

The wind bite as her and Aki climbed swirling threatening to push even this strong and healthy Chocobo off of the icy rocks. She clung to the determent bird trying to lessen the impact of the icy wind on her face. she could feel the cold through even her thick layers of clothing, she could only guess how hard this all was for Aki. it took the powerful bird almost a day and a half to fight her way up the mountain side. When they both saw the Imp infested cave it looked like heaven. she could kill the small imps easily enough they where weak and she had an affinity for fire and lightning magic. When she got to the back of the cave guarding an alter was the imp she was looking for. a Greater Ice Imp, she know that the wings of any old Ice Imp would do but this was at least a challenge for her and Browne points with her teacher never hurt.

It was a long and hard fight and in the end she won, she collected the wing with the little light that was in there just in time to heir something that made her heart sink, An avalanche. she quickly lite a touch and ran to the entrance to make sure that Aki was alright. she had barely taken a few steps when the large bird came racing into the back of the cave rather flustered by what had happened. Rauvinil walked the Chocobo to the back of the cave so that the fireballs that she was going to have to lob at the snow covering the entrance wouldn't upset her. as she got back there she felt the bag on her side with Graz'zt in it jerk toward the alter. she stopped for a moment reaching into the bag and pulling out the orb, it glowed faintly with an unworldly light before flying onto the ice covered alter. when it landed the ice seamed to evaporate immediately, and as she walked forward to see what was revealed she gasped. on the alter now next to Graz'zt was that all to familiar sword. it was still as dark and twisted as she remembers it, the blade curved like the rolling of waves and at the end was an almost monstrous looking hook like point. She put Graz'zt back into his bag and picked up the evil looking sword quickly discovering how heavy it is. She held it with all of her strength, she would never be able to wield this monstrous blade. As she looked at it though she realized she wouldn't have to, at closer inspection and remembering her studies it was a '+5 acidic burst b*****d sword' that meant whatever she stabbed with it would be consumed in a burst of acid. she smiled, "my magic might cause another avalanche but you shouldn't." she says to herself as she hefts the heavy sword making her way to the snow covered entrance to clear it.

Making her way down the mountain was easier then up, she got home with half a day for her and Aki to rest. she put the ingredient down on the desk in her room and with every drop of respect she could give it, hung the demon princes blade above her desk with a gentle smile. "maybe this is an omen." she mutters to herself before looking back at her demonology books. "but is it a good or bad one." she says with a concerned look on her face remembering what the books had said about the handsome, intelligent, seductive, but ill-tempered and violent prince of the abyss. "how much danger am i in..." she muttered looking down at the small black orb once more.

Entry Three, "Beautiful Beast"

"Dreams, they are our most vulnerable time, and there very presence calls to the creatures in the dark. Fortunately it is often only the weak that answer that call. most healthy souls can fight of these intruders into our subconscious. On the other hand there is the rare occasion that a much more powerful being will attempt to enter you through your dreams. that is why today's lesson is on how to protect the mind. I warn you now if you can't cast the things out of your mind then i will have to and as you all know, i am not gentle." The Tiefling said as she walked around the students who where all laying inside of a circle in the middle of the classroom. all of the tables had been moved and the windows covered so now all that remains is the dull glow of the candles placed around the circle. "so then let us begin." she said darkly casting a spell that put all of the students to sleep. Rauvinil clutching the orbs in her hands tightly trying to clear her mind as the strange sleep took hold of her.

Rauvinil came forth in her dream in the Underdark once more, sitting in a garden of night flowers that glowed gently in the never ending dark of the caves. "this isn't so bad." she said to herself. "my you are more radiant then the flowers this night." when she turned there kneeling before her was the handsome male that had courted her for many years before she left the Underdark. Her Drow nature returning to her she simply sat proudly and held out her hand for him to kiss. "i am glad you think that way." she said coldly before looking back to the flowers, that was tell she felt something long and slimy touch her arm. when she looked the male who was once kneeling there was now a Mind Flayer the tentacles on it's face slowly climbing up her arm and a hungry look in it's sunken eyes. she pulled from it with every last bit of strength she could muster, and turning she ran for the gate of the small garden. that was tell she hit the ground unable to move at all. "hard time moving Drow?" the dripping voice of the brain eating monster came to her as it's foot steps came closer and closer. She couldn't stop the tiers as she felt the slimy tentacles touching her head, but then a familiar thunk was herd. "She is mine you pathetic Nightcrawler!" her body could move again and as she looked up there he was again the ebony skin the horns, even the beautiful eyes. "Graz'zt..." She said before waking up with a start.

She looked around the room on her was a dead Nightcrawler, a highly poisonous insect that would kill it's victims in there sleep. She looked up at the small Ebony hand that was holding the bugs crushed head, he was just a child and yet she could see him in this boy. he wore armor on his shoulders, legs and wrists around his waits was an ornate piece of fabric that was being used as a loin cloth. on his side was a loop meant for the small wooden sword carved to look like the terrifying sword that she had found before, that he held in his right hand, most likely what he used to crush the bugs head. he had the piecing green eyes that have forever marked her mind with there unworldly glow. His skin and hair the dark ebony that made him look so Drow and yet not. The six tiny black horns barely peaked up over this short but unkept hair and his strangely shaped legs looking with lack of a better word cute on his tiny frame. he stepped closer to her dropping the bug before reaching forward with his small hand and whipping away the tiers that still lingered on her face. "what did i say before, tiers don't become you Drow." he smiled showing a pair of fangs that along with the horns showed what he truly was, a demon. Then the strangest thing happened of that day. The small child collapsed onto her sound asleep himself. She looked up at the teacher who just smiled "take him home he is very tired from protecting you." she said simply opening the door for Rauvinil to leave, "It is rare for him to take a liking to anyone, then again that might not be a good thing ether." the Tiefling said as her student left.

(( ok as a side note i apparently can't describe his legs any better then i did in the first entry so here is a pic that should show what i was talking about a lot better then i can clearly describe. as a bonus the pic also has his sword in it, you know what they say a picture is worth a thousand words ^.^ ))
