Sin had a lot on her mind, a lot of unpleasant thoughts, a lot of regrets, she was tired and annoyed and she didn't want anyone to know what she was feeling. So of course she did exactly what her mother had taught her to do, she slipped on a scanty two piece swimsuit and headed down to the nearest lake. She spread out a towel and eyed the sky, okay so she couldn't exactly lounge in the non-existent warmth. She sighed and pushed her hair back deciding to go for an actual swim. She walked down along the shore and waded in slowly adjusting to the cool waters and then diving under them. Ahh much better, the water blocked out the sounds of the world. She dove down deeper...depper, and then her lungs started to feel the strain and she launched herself upwards. She broke the surface with a deep gasp full of air and smiled, this helped.
Slowly started started to swim laps, like a runner around a track she breast-stroked around the lake in shrinking and widening circles. She reveled in the sensation of her muscles stretching, working, slowly tiring as she went on and on. There was a rhythm to swimming just like there seemed to be in all things in life, it comforted her to follow the pattern and know it would work. Finally she began to tire and turned to start swimming to shore, maybe she shouldn't have gone so fast and hard.

Calder had been going to sit beside the rivers and lakes ever since his punishment. It was the closet he could get to the water he could love, and alone, he could think. There was plenty on his mind, what with school, questionable friendships, potential harm done, and the overall feeling of being alone. Not to mention the fact that being beside the water reminded him he had done nothing to overcome his bad habit of drowning those around him – another of the many contributing factors that made so many people hate him.
He knew that to ever enjoy swimming again for the rest of his time at school, he had to get better. The only bad thing was that 1.) He barely had any friends 2.) No one wanted to risk their lives. Not to mention the fact that anyone he took could possibly hate him, thus ruining any friend he asked by making them hate him. It was a touchy subject and he was left with little options.
So he sat. His leg had been throbbing for days after the dance and he was avoiding people more and more for it. Still, he abused his leg once more to go to the river and watch the waters. It was there that he saw Sin, and he snapped from more emotional thoughts to take her form in.
Sin probably had come into the habit of gawking boils, and the dreamy, interested look the kelpie was giving was probably one she saw before. However, it was not the same thoughts running through his head. He had seen Sin. She was formed and built, making many boils and even some girls drool around. The puddle increase was just ridiculous when she walked by. However, he was admiring her in a different way.
Smooth, slender legs kicking the water and a curved back that pushed through the waves, and he wondered after each and every lap, how tired her formed body would get. Would she feel a cramp from not stretching out those curved hips, or would her soft, exposed stomach clench tight from overexertion? Would that slender, delicate ankle be wrapped about a long strain of lake grass and get caught, pulling her down and sending her into a panic? He crawled closer, watcher her intently, just going to the 2 foot mark before stopping. Maybe she would grow too tired to make it back, and slowly sink into the waters. Better yet still was if there were a few hungry fish that would n** and bite that flawless, lilac skin and bleeding and wounded, cause her to go into shock in those cold waters and drift down into the dark. There was also the idea of a lake beast that could wrap about her tightly into a death's embrace and kicking and screaming, drag her down and release, and down again to toy with its meal.
But alas, she was coming to the shore, and as the waters grew more shallow beneath her, he grew more disappointed. He was sure one more lap would have had her too tired, and he grew warm at the idea of it. Her melodic voice calling out for help as he stood by the sidelines with only a smile for assistance. Oh, but he couldn't be there to grab her long hair and pull her under, or bite the inside of her leg and pull her down.
Just thinking about it made him breath out a little quicker.

Sin reached the shore and pushed herself up out of the water with a soft puff of air, whoo that had been a workout. She stood at the edge of the lake for a moment and gathered her hair in her hands to wring some of the excess water from it. She flicked her wet hair back and then headed up towards her towel away from the lake. She felt the air n** at her and picked up the pace so she could dry off. She blinked when she noticed Calder standing and...staring? She had seen the boil in classes, he had a particular love of literature it seemed but beyond that she didn't know much about him. Wait hadn't he taken that reaper to the Scarentines dance? She felt a momentary flash of annoyance at how intense his stare was and then slowly a wicked smile formed on her lips.
She had forgotten how nice it felt to really have someone look at her that way, it was quite an intense stare. She finally lifted her hand and wigged her fingers at him in a teasing wave before she bent to grab her towel. "Hello Calder!" What did he really think she wasn't going to notice him there staring at her? She moved to walk over towards him still dripping lake water, ugh she'd have to get back to her suite and take a long hot bath.

The smile and wave were well received, and his grin grew wider in response. He gave her a nod of his head, and as such, his eyes had darkened in turn. The smell of water was thick in the air with it's many fragrant tones of mineral and organic, the rot of dead leaves in the water and the crisp condensation rolling down her body to every crease and crevice and around every curve as it dripped down. Her hair was sleek and he noticed he gooseflesh on her exposed skin. Cold, possibly close to a bit of shock or a frigid chill that would seized her, make her stiff and sluggish, and make it easier for that lovely body to lock up and sink.
As she went to work drying off, he moved in. "I saw you out there swimming." No duh. Gawking was more like it. "…you could have lasted much longer. I know swimmers, and you have the physique to go much longer. You should be pushing yourself more." He reached over, and let a finger drag across her shoulder, taking a bit of water with him. He was close now, and he smiled at her. "Can I help dry your back? It's not good to be out of the water as wet as you are."

Sin was used to boils and their infatuations, of course that's always what it was a temporary flash of lust before they moved on to more reliable, sweeter females. She might have been hurt or angry, but she had already felt those emotions, now she just smiled and handed Calder the towel. Let him look it didn't hurt her, it made her feel in control even as control slipped from her fingers. She grinned as he complimented her and glanced over her shoulder as she turned so he could touch her back.
"I was just swimming to clear my head, not trying out for the team or anything, but it does help keep me fit for Fearleading. I can't say I'm as strong a swimmer as you think I was starting to get tired out there, any longer and my leg probably would have started to cramp up...I know my limits." She slowly stretched her leg a bit her toes pointing as her calf flexed a bit the muscles taut until she pulled her leg back in.
"Thank you for helping...Calder right? It's a bit cooler out then I had thought." What a sweet boil, but intense...the intensity hadn't left his eyes and she was starting to feel his scrutiny went more then skin deep.

He took the towel and looked at the long plane of her back. The curling leg going straight out, flexing muscle, and then back in only made him flick his tail quickly. "I can tell you work out, but pushing yourself to your limit pushes that limit further." He took the towel, dragging it over her shoulder and down her back, traveling down as he watched her flex her leg more. For Sin, she might have seen him admiring the various aesthetic parts of her body as what any boil would want, but he was thinking only of how the body could fail, and what fight it could give in the water. Fearleading had its many physically challenges and letting his fingertips brush against her skin as he dried her off showed that she wasn't just soft skin and nothing underneath. There was power in her back, arms, and legs. Especially the legs.
He crouched low, letting the towel dry the back of her right leg off. Which one would be the one to go first? To cramp up in the water? The right? The left? Who would be the culprit? He briefly wondered what demon tasted like, but it was a downright taboo. Kelpies didn't eat other creatures in Halloweentown other than human and a few miscellaneous animals. Fish most often than not. Still, curiosity made him wonder. He didn't meet many demons until he came to this school. They were far higher in social rank than kelpies, who stuck to the woods and back-countries, living in traveling herds and pastures. For someone as rural as he was, if it wasn't for school, he would have never met a demon before. They seemed strong, powerful, and out of his class. Still, death was a great equalizer.
He set aside the towel to touch her leg. "No. You could have gone for a little longer. You're plenty powerful, and a little strain never hurt anyone." He rose up, and reached around to set the towel on her shoulder, nuzzling into her wet hair. It smelled of the lake and after days upon weeks of not being near the lake, not touching the water, he felt weak smelling it. He was going through withdrawals badly. "You should do just one more lap. Just one little push makes all the difference in the end." He nudged her back.

"Yeah well I'm no water demon, if I push myself out there and no one is around as my spotter it could lead to trouble fast." She laughed and felt a twinge of ache in her right leg from the flexing. Well that's what showing off got her, she knew it was cold out. The cool air was just making her muscles that much more tense. "Having a good spotter it the first rule of Fearleading, but at least if you get hurt on the field you won't end up dead...usually."
She watched him over her shoulder and felt a pang of guilt, what was she doing? Why was she flirting? Well...why not she wasn't attached to anyone, and her Raven was....her fingers curled into a slow fist. She flashed Calder an even more alluring smile pleased by his flattery. "Yeah maybe I could have..." Then he nudged her and she laughed moving to grab the towel. "No way, it's cold out here if I go back in now my leg will seize up."

He was taking deep breathed and felt water against his cheek. Nuzzling his cheek against her neck and ear, he practically inhaled the scent of the lake, and that only made his eyes darken further. She had to go in the water. She had to. She had to run just one magical lap. "I'll spot you. You can just take one more lap. I'll watch like I did before. If anything happens…….." What a terribly delightful thing to think about. His tail flicked again at the imagery. "…..I'll be here." On the shore, watching.
He set his hands at her shoulders and slid them down to her arms, holding them, and gave her another push, moving with her but stopping just 2 feet by the water's edge. His hooves tapped in place, and he grew frustrated. The pin was giving a dull hum, warning him of the danger he was putting himself in, and he danced on the edge of his limits. One hoof pawed the ground and he winced painfully at the fact it was his bad hoof and stood still in place. "…Go in the water." He stressed. "…I'll dry you off head to toe when you get back. I'll even carry you back if you get tired."
Somewhere in the back of his mind, his parent's lecture on the phone came to mind. He was suppose to save those in danger in water if it came to it, not encourage it. He shook his head, struggling. But…but she was right there, and the smell, that sweet smell of water, was traveling like a thick fog around his head. Oh what a lovely perfume it was.
"Just…" He breathed hard. "….take one lap, for me."

She leaned back a little as Calder started to close in on her, started to nuzzle her, this was getting a bit creepy. She gently placed her hand on his shoulder to try and keep the space between them open. "It's too cold for more swimming, besides my leg is already feeling a bit sore, if I don't go warm up it's gonna cramp." The heat of a bath beckoned her now and no flattery from the Kelpie was going to sway her.
Then his hands were on her shoulders, sliding down, he pushed and she stepped back instinctively not to fall. She slowly moved to try and move her arms from his grasp and step forward again her towel out of reach past him. "Calder you can't carry me, come on now don't be silly. Maybe tomorrow I can come swim some laps if it's warmer and you can spot me then."
Then she noticed his darkening eyes and slowly the smirk faded into a more serious line. His hard breath sounded more like a command then a flattering encouragement and her eyes narrowed. "No Calder." That was that, she moved to try and get past him to her towel.

The hard shove made him wince again, again cursing his bad leg. He shouldn't be standing so much, but he was lost in a dreamy world of warm perfume and aching muscles under strain. It seemed he learned nothing from his last encounter only because he had done nothing since that last encounter with Lizzy in the laundry room to stop himself. Practice made perfect, and he had gotten nothing in the way of self control in since that time. Clearly it was a problem, and it was presenting itself as one for Sin right now.
She tried to sidestep him, but he stood there, watching her and blocking her path. Maybe a good hard shove would have pushed her in, but then what? He just wanted her to take a lap, and the best he could do was look into her eyes. Sadly, he wasn't a master of his own Lure either, and couldn't even concentrate with the singing pain in his leg calling to break his attention. "I'm not asking for much, lassie. Just a little lap." It was a strong suggestion with a touch of a threat.
He reached out and touched her shoulder again, making his move to nudge her once more.

"Knock it off Calder!" She noticed his wince and then frowned up at him about to ask if he was alright. Except he reached out again to give her another nudge. Well that was it, he obviously wasn't snapping out of it and the look in his eyes wasn't admiring, it was...determined. What did he want? For her to drown?
She brought up her open palm against the side of his face in a firm slap. She had dealt with boils who couldn't take no for an answer at her parents balls enough times to know when it was time to show a little aggression. If he didn't back off after that she was going to have to kick him...hard. Then again considering she wasn't wearing her usually lethal boots maybe a knee would work better.

If it was one thing to snap him out of his trance, it was a hard dose of pain. His parents usually nipped him or dragged him by the ear, but a hard slap to the face from a sassy ghoul did the trick too. Touching his cheek, the narrow look of dark determination dissolved into a mix of confusion and pain, and he held his cheek and whined, before looking up at Sin. "Whaddya do that for?" He rubbed it, lower lip pouting as he shook his head. Ugh. Head fuzzies.
He slowly made to sit down, ears down and looking downright pathetic as he looked around, collecting his thoughts from what happened in the last few minutes. Sin – Wet. Lake – Nearby. Sin – Pissed. Lake – Smelling wonderful. Sin – slapped him. Pain.
It wasn't hard to figure out considering he snapped out of his trances in similar situations. He slowly started to scoot back from her and the water. Seeing as she was still alive meant good things, right. Right? "Hey….Sin? Nice to see you. I'm going to go…this way now." He turned and made to get up from the ground, but he then felt a pull in his leg and flopped back down. Okay, maybe he would stay here a bit. Yeah. That should be fun. Not really.

Sin watched as Calder seemed to snap out of, it the look in his eyes faded and he sat down on the grass. She grabbed her towel and wrapped it around her waist frowning. What in the world was wrong with hi-and then he tried to turn tail and run! She leapt after him and grabbed for his leg, in the moment he flopped her leg gave a sudden jerking protest and a cramp brought her to the ground beside him. "Owwww....jack damn it..." She rolled over and grabbed her leg rubbing the aching muscle while she clenched her teeth and glared at Calder.
"Stay put! What was all that about Calder? You tried to shove me back into that lake like your life depended on it!" She winced and tries to relax the muscles in her leg but it was hard with pains shooting up every few moments. Then she looked at Calder's leg, had he been hurt too?

Pulling on his leg was not a good idea, and he gritted his teeth before looking back at her. It was then that he noticed that she was holding her leg and was on the ground, and the turned over, worried and concerned, but mainly feeling guilty for what he might have done. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't. It's just. I just lose my head a bit. I didn't mean to, whatever I just did. It's just the water. I'm sorry. I didn’t hurt you, did I?" Oh crap! He was in for it. It wasn't so bad when it was other kelpies, but around this school, he was just getting worse and worse. As much as he hated to admit it, Hellma's decision was becoming more and more of a good thing.
He hovered by Sin, looking at her leg and then back up at her pained expression. "Is there anything I can do? Hold your head or…wrap something?" He wasn't a master of first aid after all. Maybe if she turned her head and coughed?

"I'll be fine Calder it's just a cramp, I get them sometimes when it's cold out and we practice. I'll get back to my room and take a hot bath, it's fine...but you, your obviously not." She rubbed her leg and then looked at him again with a more serious eye. He felt bad, he really hadn't been himself when he tried to push her back to the water. So what in the world was it?
"Wanna explain what that was about? You didn't hurt me...but you kept insisting I go back into the lake for another lap. You were obsessed, so what was it?" She tilted her head and frowned trying to understand what was compelling him.
