I was a pretty warm morning to be mid-February but Lily wasn't complaining. No, she happy to see the snow melted away and to be able to walk around without the extra crunch and slop just everywhere. It was terribly messy and she personally had more than one ruined pair of shoes from the awful winter they had suffered. She was looking forward very greatly to spring. Looking forward very greatly to longer day and more sunshine, although she definitely wasn't looking forward to the rain and mud, but you win some you loose some right.

Right now, however, she was extremely curious about the goings on in Destiny City, as it seemed terrible dark for the time of day it was. Really at 8 a.m. shouldn't it have been brighter and even more so it did not look as though it would rain, so Lily was a bit baffled.

Sighing she made her into the small, but empty garden park. The flowers were not in bloom yet, save a few displays that had been set up in the anticipation of spring and there was no one else around. She sighed seeing the state of the displays. The flowers seemed to want to drag and droop, just as much as many of the people she had been seeing each morning. Was it hard for them to wake up too?

Perhaps it was going to rain and that's why it was so dark. Whatever the reason, Dietrich was ready with a coat and an umbrella regardless of what the weather would be like. He had a bag he could put the coat in, and if it got sunny...well...the umbrella could double as a parasol from the sun! It could work. But he just needed to go on a walk or something; Dietrich couldn't allow himself to stay cooped up in his apartment all day long like some people.

Hmm, it seemed the flowers weren't awake yet! Poor things! He squatted down to lightly brush his fingers over one. Not a very good sight for a flower garden! Not even the displays! He spotted a young lady nearby and smiled politely. She seemed just as disappointed as he did, if not more. "Perhaps they're just not morning people." He commented casually, standing straight up and fixing his coat and shirt. He was, of course, talking about the flowers.

Lily turned a bit surprised and looked to the boy she had heard come up. Her heart was thundering though she tried not to show it. This boy was just that a normal boy and she need not have spooked so bad. The lack of sleep as of late was effecting her nerves a bit, but she took a calming breath and nodded.

"Perhaps," she said sweetly, "It is rather gloomy out. I bet they will perk up if it rains or in the sun is out. I do not know many people who like the in between, though it can be nice."

She walked over to the boy and knelt down to look at the flowers before him, "Its still a bit sad though. This garden is always so beautiful, even though its winter, I bet they must change the displays often. I cannot wait for spring, so more flowers can grow."

She looked to him with a smile and extended her hand, "I'm Liliana."

Dietrich paused a moment when it seemed he'd startled her more than he'd intended. Was she alright? She looked rather tired, like she hadn't been sleeping well..or at all. Maybe startling her was a bad idea. She was still sweet and polite though and he nodded in agreement with her thoughts. Flowers liked that kind of stuff! "I like any kind of weather myself, rain can be fun." He slipped his hands in his coat pockets while she knelt down in front of him, looking down at the flowers with a soft hum. Maybe, though he was surprised they weren't being kept in some kind of heated greenhouse where they could thrive. It was lovely they were kept out where everyone could see them but even the same, it'd be nice to not make the poor flowers suffer in the cold.

"Dietrich. Nice to meet you, Liliana." He introduced himself with a friendly smile, reaching a hand out to shake hers. "So what brings you here? Just admiring the flowers?" Spring seemed like a more appropriate time to do that, but to each their own!

Lily nodded when he commented about the rain, rain she did not mind so much, it was when rain and dirt came together making mud that she was none to happy. "The rain can be nice, especially cool rain on a hot day, but I must admit I am not at all fond of mud. I'll keep my dancing in the rain strictly on concrete thank you."

She smiled standing and shaking the pre-offered hand, "Dietrich is a nice name and it very nice to meet you too."

She looked to the flowers again and shook her head. "Really I just wanted to have a walk and after I remembered they keep small displays here I came to see if they were out. There was so much snow this winter I didn't think they would replace the flowers."

She looked up to the sky wishing for energy, for that extra dose of vitamin D most of the city was currently lacking. "You can hardly tell it is after 8, it stills seems like 6, the sky has been acting strange lately."

"Just don't slip in a puddle and hurt yourself." Dietrich chuckled, idly spinning his umbrella in one hand like a baton. Not that he had practice at it or anything, not in the slightest, especially seeing how he nearly dropped the damn thing. Oops! He scrambled to pick it up with a tiny curse under his breath and a small embarrassed blush dusting his cheeks. It was brief though, he was quick to regain some composure from his small fumble. Heh. "Or get dirty. That'd be embarrassing." Yes, far more embarrassing than dropping his umbrella. That was nothing compared to falling in mud and needing to walk home and change in that state.

He grinned and gave a little bow as his name was complimented, hamming up the gentlemanly act. "Why thank you! And your name's quite lovely as well." As he stood straight his gaze followed hers to the flowers and then to the sky, sighing softly and nodding in agreement. The joys of winter! At least it wasn't as if it wasn't something the flowers were unused to; they at least had their cycles and adapted to the weather. She had a good point though, it was rather dark for so later in the morning. "Maybe it's just rain? I hope it's not a bad storm coming in..." That would suck. Dietrich'd walked here, he didn't want to have to walk all the way back to his apartment in a storm and he definitely didn't want to be trapped somewhere.

Lily grinned and shook her head, despite her tiredness she was in a good mood. Even knowing she would be in Elysion tonight could not bring her down. "Don't worry I will not slip. I would sure hope not, my ballet teacher might be appalled at my lack of grace if she ever found out and I would rather not get dirty. I've only just gotten dressed before coming out, no need to do it again, yes?"

Lily had to agree falling and getting dirty would be mortifying, more so than a fumbled umbrella, which Lily politely ignored not wanting to point out the small slip up.

"Your welcome and thank you," she said to his thanks and compliment of her name. She liked it well enough, though she had to admit, interesting names amusing her and she liked most of them.

She shook her head when he said it was probably rain. "Maybe," she said, "but not likely. Knowing this city, and looking at the news I would say it is just another crazy thing happening this week."

It was a half truth, because she did not think, she knew, but that mattered not, in the current moment.

Just another crazy thing. Dietrich chuckled quietly to himself at that and nodded. "This city is fully of crazy things, huh?" Things like going to another world in one's dream and it being real, not just some dream! Things like monsters that attacked at any hour of the day. Though maybe that kind of thing was just 'normal' for Destiny City now. It'd make sense.

"It's nice to have a quiet day...so you do ballet?" That sounded fun. He'd never been much of a dancer, but he could try if he really had to. He doubted he could do ballet though.

"Yes," she said with a nod, "you get use to it after a while. When you think about that it is truly sad, but I guess it can't be help. People are rather stubborn about the homes they love and so they deal. Halloween, no that was weird."

She grinned at the changed in conversation and nodded giving a twirl on her toes. Her skirt flare out a bit and she thanked the heaven for ballet flat as she posed. She gave a laugh releasing the pose. "I have been dancing since I was young, though it is only recently that I seemed to be improving and leaps and bounds. My teacher has high hopes for me despite my not having any major plans for ballet in my future."

She smiled happily, "what is it that you like to do?"
