The punk jacket as seen on Gaga in the music video for "Telephone" is of course not an original concept. For decades, punks, deathrockers and other kinds of freaks have taken part in making DIY (Do It Yourself, in case you're retarded) and having a wee bit of deathrocker in myself I've decided to make my own jacket. This is not the first time I have made major altercations to an article of clothing of mine, so this is not something new. The only thing that I will be doing that I have never done before is working with leather and spikes. As of now, I have yet to purchase the jacket but here is the design I plan on purchasing:
One can adorn a jacket in any way they see fit. The goal is not to recreate a jacket that someone else has, but rather use your own sense of style and preference. Jackets can be used as a form of expression as well as signifying to others your interests, mainly in music. Unlike the punks of the past and being more of a goth, I am less politically driven and more based with music and art. That being said, a lot of it is going to consist of band patches and various fabrics that I see fit as a representation of my personality.
