Adelle paced around Emilian's apartment frantically, diligence energy having gone through the roof at the possibility that her first boyfriend had suggested before he'd stormed out that morning. That she could be pregnant after that stupid night. Her mom had only been pregnant with her for three months. It had been three days since she and Kaleb had slept together. At the rate that the stupid baby would develop, that meant that it might already be too late for her to, well, get rid of the baby. She couldn't have a baby, she couldn't have a baby...

What would happen to it, after all? What would happen to a baby born to someone who barely ate, partied all the time, was drinking and doing a variety of drugs on a regular basis? Tears bit at the corners of her eyes and she shook her head gently, wings fluttering softly. She'd already called Kaleb, hoping to discuss options with him, asking him to buy a pregnancy test on his way over. She let out a choked sob, finally taking a seat and burying her face in her hands.

What would happen to her job? Surely, she would need to take a break, if she wasn't laid off completely. Her figure? It would be completely destroyed by the stupid child. She'd seen the stretch marks on her mom's stomach. Where would she live? Emilian wouldn't let her just freeload, he had her helping with the rent and everything else. She couldn't go back to her mom's house, she was afraid to go back to all of that life. It was terrifying.

She was growing up too fast for her to handle...

Kaleb was stressed, to say the least. He had recieved a call from Adelle and was already on his way from the store to where she was staying. A pregnancy test? What was that about? Adelle couldn't be... no she couldn't be pregnant, could she? He drove over as fast as he could without speeding; after all, Vincent probably would have killed him for both stealing his car, and for getting a ticket.

He knocked on the door once he arrived. Adelle had seemed upset. What could be wrong? What had happened? Did she need something to eat? Someone to spend time with? After waiting a moment (a very brief moment, the liberality spawn was positive he had no Patience in him) he opened the door and walked in.

"Adelle, hun? I brought what you asked for."

Adelle was at the door as soon as the knock sounded, reaching out toward the knob. However, when the door sprung open before she had a chance to open it, she squeaked rather cutely, jumping back and giving a rather harsh glare toward the male who was standing behind the white-washed wood. Without even a polite greeting, she harshly yanked the bag from his hand, tearing the box out of it and unwrapping said box with every step she took back toward the bathroom, reading the instructions faster than she'd read anything in her life, calling a simple statement over her shoulder. "You shouldn't just walk in here, that's what knocking is for. You're lucky Emilian wasn't here; he would'a been pissed."

Thanks to the fact that she'd been holding it for about a half hour, taking the test only took a good few seconds. As soon as she was out of the bathroom, it was to the kitchen, where she set the timer on the stove to three minutes, holding the test in shaking hands as she watched the control line on the test appear slowly, taking unsteady breaths as she stood there.

"No, no, no, please, please don't do that..." she whispered almost silently to the test as a second pink line slowly formed in the small result window, tears prickling in her dark eyes. Her tentacles, both of them for once, gently stroked her sides, both of the stubby little things seeming to sense her fear.

Was she mad at him? Was she going to dump him? She didn't seem at all happy to see him, judgiing by the glare she'd flashed him. "I know I shouldn't have just barged in," Kaleb was quick to agree, "but I was worried about you. Are you alright?" He was worried; she had wanted a pregnancy test...did that mean she was pregnant? He was sure it was too early to tell, really... It'd only happened three days ago.

"Adelle?" Kaleb made his way to the kitchen with considerable ease. "You okay, hun?" He put a hand on her shoulder and moved to kiss her cheek. "I love you." He attempted to subtle look at the test to see what the results where. His purple tinted skin went pale. "You're pregnant?" he asked, with the tact of a seven year old. That was--non existant.

"No, you shouldn't have," Adelle snapped, voice filled with tears but lacking any remorse to the boy she'd met only a few days earlier. "It doesn't matter how worried you were. You can wait a couple seconds for someone to answer the door to a house that belongs to someone you don't even know, can't you?" The young woman bit at her lip nervously, hugging herself around the shoulders as tears trickled down her cheeks. She wished that she wasn't crying, she really did, but between the anger, the terror, and the soul-crushing depression that she was feeling, she couldn't have stopped if she'd wanted to.

Adelle bared her small fangs when the boy moved closer to her, shrugging him off and scoffing at the idiocy of his statement. she snapped at his statement, pulling her metallic wings around her shoulders in order to keep the other away from her, unless he wanted to risk losing something the same way that she had. She choked on a sob when the alarm went off, echoing in the back of her mind as both pink lines lit up on the test. The young woman placed a hand over her mouth as her bone-thin legs gave out and she fell to the floor, curling into the fetal position and sobbing quietly, shaking her head in the hopes that she could somehow change reality. This couldn't be happening...

...this couldn't be happening...
