Maia was out patrolling, as most senshi were at this time off night. Tonight she was to hit up the school. She had heard the rumors about the school, but she knew that could not, unfortunately, keep her from patrolling the area and as of yet she had not encountered anything strange so she hoped it was a rumor or a crazed civilians hyped on stress.
She was happy that most of the snow that had covered Destiny City at once point was gone, but not happy that some of it was still melting which meant the back fields were a bit muddy and to be avoided at all cost which had Maia approaching from the front going to jump an awning and take post on the roof for a while.
That thought was interrupted by something sweeping down at her and just barely missing as she jumped out the way have heard, but not felt it. She looked around wildly not seeing anything. 'What was that,' she thought moving slowly forward, now fully on guard for another unwarranted attack. She hadn't felt anything, no signature and that put her extremely on edge, her mind flying back to the rumors. She hoped she wasn't in from more than she bargained for.
It swoop down at her once more, but once again missed before she was almost instantly attacked again. The creature grabbing her butt bow and lifting her several feet off the ground. She screamed flailing about, arms and legs going wild and then she was dropped as an elbow made contact with the beast. She hit the ground with a thud a bit dazed.

Chaonis was out on patrol, knowing things were getting more and more dangerous for everyone. Not just the fighters in that dream realm, but for the citizens of Destiny City, as well. The Negaverse were stepping up their game, and now there were these monsters flying around. He hadn't seen one yet, but he heard about them, from reliable and unreliable sources.
They didn't sound good, from either.
The Super Senshi had a lot to think about, on top of all the incredible events going on recently. His own change, for one, was something he hadn't had much time to really ponder or even try out. It had all happened so suddenly, out of need and desperation. Now, though, he had a night to find some trouble on purpose, and see what he could really do.
So the school it was, where all the reports were coming from. Not just the school was affected, but it seemed it had the strangest activity and it was the intelligent place for a senshi looking for a fight to start looking. If intelligent was the right word for that, at any rate. He was sitting on the roof of one of the campus buildings when he saw something swoop from the sky nearby. He hadn't even sensed it, though maybe he had let himself get distracted.
He hurried over and saw a strange sight. A senshi, who he recognized from a fight in the mall parking lot, flying. Against her will. He grinned, unable to keep from his usual instincts to taunt.
"Need some help?" he called up to her, gloved hands on his hips, goggles resting on his head. And then she fell, landing nearby, and he hurried over to her. "I would have helped, if you had been patient," he said, offering her his hand to help her up.

Maia frowned, but took the offered hand allowing the help to get her up off the ground. She looked up and her eyes lit with recognition and she looked him over. He looked different, they same but definitely different. The goggles were a definite change.
"Oh Chaonis, ... um congrats" she said rather stupidly before muttering a thank you and looking back up to the sky.
"It looks like those rumors are definitely true, but it is worse than I thought. Whatever that was. I can't I can't sense it," she said worry edging into her voice.
She watched the sky and this time she did not miss it as the creature, the beast swoop down upon them and she jumped out of the way. What was they thing trying to do to her, to them.
"Watch out," she said, "I think there are two."
The second swooped down as well barely missing Maia's curls having intended to carry her off by the hair, but changing its mind last minute and aiming for Chaonis shoulders.

Chaonis grinned at her, cocky, nodding his head at her congratulations. But they could talk about how awesome he was later, as there was a monster that didn't feel like a youma, or rather didn't feel like anything, nearby that needed their attention.
He frowned, looking up at it as it swiveled in the air above them, considering them one at a time, it seemed, trying to pick which to attack first.
And then it dove. Chaonis moved the opposite way of Maia, the 'bird' swooping through the space they created as they both leaped out of the way. He looked at her, then scanned the sky to see the second one.
"Well, I'll be damned. I didn't know you were having a party with these things. Though, I'm always game to crash." He grinned, flexing his hands and curling his fingers into tight fists. Game on now, he decided. Though, flying monsters weren't the best for his attack, he'd figure someting out.
When the second one went for her, he tried to focus on the first, which had turned around to try again. He felt the second hit his shoulder, though, and was completely distracted. "Damn, these things are fast," he said, though since the hit hadn't done any real damage he had to wonder about their strength. He grabbed the second creature by the leg as it tried to fly by and swoop back.

Maia frowned as the flying creatures seemed to be besting them at the moment. Maia was certain she could make them fall clean out of the sky, but the problem was that they were very fast and neither one of them could feel them coming, she frowned.
"I'm not sure I can, hit it will my attack. It fast and well its flying," she spouted. If they were in Elysion in the flying field, but they weren't. They were in the real world and she couldn't fly.
She dodged the first beast once more, but received a nasty scratch the side of her face in the process. She was getting a little peeved at her inability to really do something. It was totally awkward to have winged beasts trying to kill you or at least she thought they were. She wasn't entirely sure.
She watched as the other beast swept after Chaonis and frowned at wondering if he would be able to take out one of the beast or both of them. But her minor distraction was short lived as he was attacked again. She screamed at swinging her arms at the beast and attempting to bat it away as it attempted to lift her off the ground.

Chaonis frowned.
"Well, then, we're gonna have to make them stop flying, huh?" He grinned, always liking a bit of danger. He wasn't feeling particularly worried at the moment, though, sure they'd be able to handle these things. Or maybe he was just riding high on his new-found opinion of himself. Either way, he was confident.
Tugging the one he had a hold off by the leg, he used all the strength he could muster to pull it from its efforts to fly away from him and slam it into the ground. He stomped his foot down on its wing, pinning it, and looking in time to see Maia getting attacked by the other one.
"Whoa! Hold on!" he called, deciding to use his attack to help them out. "Warning! Earthquake Zone!" He grinned, leaping off the monster he had managed to pin in order to aid Maia. He jumped and grabbed her around the waist, pulling both her and the creature back down to the roof. He quickly made to catch the creature so it didn't fly off in all the chaos.

Maia was extremely grateful to be pulled back down, she most certainly did not want to be the flying beast dinner. Oh that would suck majorly. She gave a quick thanks to Chaonis and watched as he caught the creature that had tried to take off with her.
Perfect, she thought, looking up to the struggling creature.
"Sweet Harmony," she called out the music filling her and spilling forth from her mouth, the lovely translucent rainbow colored notes pooping into existence and flying toward the flapping beast that Chaonis had a grip on.
The notes pelted against the struggling beast and it calmed its attempt to free itself from the grip that held it and fell with a thump to the roof. Its wings flopped about helplessly and Maia looked to Chaonis to finish it off.
"I think we had better done with this before more show up, not being able to sense them is more than a bit unnerving. There could be more watching us right now."
She looked back up to the sky, it was much darker than normal, or at least it seemed to be. That was unnerving too.

Chaonis looked at Maia, getting into the swing of the battle. Not that he had been particularly rusty, but now it all felt much more invigorated. Like he had something to prove, and even if he didn't know what it was he was going to do his damn best to get it done. Damn it.
And he'd have a hell of a time trying, anyway, so it didn't matter how long it took.
Standing proudly, he kept his grip on the creature, though it was pulling at him hard enough to jerk him forward a step or two, before he dragged it back. It wasn't going anywhere, and would meet the same fate all youma he ran into met: turning into a big pile of dust. Whether it was actually a youma or not, as he had never actually seen more than one of the same kind before.
He'd ponder it later. Maybe. Probably not.
When it flopped to the roof, Chaonis grinned at the creature, then at Maia. He nodded his head, approving of her attack. While it wasn't much fun to fight a listless enemy, he didn't think these things really counted. They were like goombas in Mario: he just wanted to stomp them out of existence to get to the bigger bosses.
"Yeah, I think you're right," Chaonis said, bringing his foot up to literally stomp the creature into dust.

Just as Chaonis' foot stomped through the flying monster's chest and reduced it to nothing more than dust, something glimmered in the pile of rubbish that used to be a threat to Destiny City. It seemed to respond to the notes of Maia's song, lighting up as the notes faded and trilled in the air. Every time she spoke it glimmered again under the lights of the city -- it seemed to want her to pick it up. Of course that meant reaching into what had once been a strange monster that was carrying off Destiny CIty senshi, civilians, and Negaversers alike. But that couldn't hurt could it? After all, the thing was all but singing in response to Sailor Maia. She would have been foolish to ignore it. (( Congratulations Kaori! We've been watching Maia develop and noticed your willingness to RP with anyone and everyone that comes your way to help our shop flourish, and are so very thankful for it. Please contact one of the GM team as soon as you are ready so that we can hammer out what this Mint Crystal means for Sailor Maia! ))

Maia smiled at Chaonis and nodded ready to head off, but she noticed a glimmered. Actually she had noticed it before, but now she really saw it. A pretty glittering gem lying it what was once the feathery beast that tried to cart her of to who knows where.
Maia looked to Chaonis, "Hey do you see that," she asked.
She bent over to pick it up, compelled, even the grossness of the use to be beast did not deter her. She plucked the crystal up and looked it over smiling.
It was a crystal.
She held it up, "Wow," she said not really sure just what to think. She had one of the crystals, one of the lights. She was amazed.
((Wow, thank you much. I am totally shocked. Loves to rp so much, with everyone, lols. I'm so excited!))

Chaonis kicked some of the dust off his foot, grinning triumphantly, though in the back of his mind he wondered about the backlash that usually happened whenever he attacked. He hadn't actually used it in his Super state before, so he wasn't sure, exactly, how it would play out.
Still, he was aware that something felt different.
He looked at Maia when she spoke, frowning thoughtfully, then down at the ground as she made to pick something up.
"What are you, a klepto? Don't touch pieces of... oh, whoa. Dude," he shook his head, looking stunned as he scooted closer, leaning over to look at the crystal she was holding. He looked at her, grinning. "Not a bad haul, all told, huh? Better keep it safe though."
He looked around, as if half expecting someone from the negaverse to just pop out and try to take it right now.

Maia nodded clutching the crystal in her hand. She did really have anywhere to put it, but she was was struck by the thought that her sister often, but things in her shirt or rather he bra. She pulled her fuku away slightly, pulled out a handkerchief, wrapped it around the crystal before putting it back. It was tucked securely in her bra and she looked up blushing, "no pockets," she mumbled.
She straightened up and grinned, "well lets get out of hear before we encounter another flying beastie."
The thought did not cross her mind that another beastie might hold another crystal. She just did not wish to be carried off, her attack was usualess against the creature unless one got hold of it first.
She turned and started to head away from the school, wanting to get far away quickly. She most certainly would not come alone again. Not with these beast flying about.

Chaonis' eyes widened when Maia made to put the crystal in her bar.
"Nice."
He shook his head, trying not to burst into laughter. He failed in that and let out a long laugh, bending over before he grinned at her broadly and clapped her hard on the shoulder.
"Well, I guess it'll be safe there, huh?!"
He laughed some more and nodded his head, wiping fake tears from his eyes as he calmed himself. "Yeah, probably best to call it a night. I mean, for you, anyway. I'm going to stick around, do some more patrolling. Try not to get carried off now, for sure, right? Don't want them getting it back."
Watching her go, he sighed and shook his head, running a hand through his spikey hair before getting back to patrol. He still had things to do.
