its no secret bioware makes very successful games and is a well known studio. With so many companies that copy other successful games Im honestly surprised no one has tried to spoof the signiture bioware style. There are some games that have touched on it with branching dialogue options, good, evil, and "grey" options and what not but I feel those games arent trying to rip off bioware like some other examples of more mainstream titles. Any thought?

my thought on this is Bioware doesn't make games they make interactive movies that truly make the player the hero. for example take Mass Effect 1 and 2, to me its more of a space opera than just a game. the games make you decide what happens at pivitol parts of the game. Mass Effect 1 has you choose wether to save Kaiden or Ashley then tasks you with either sacrificing humans to save the Council or sacrificing the Council to save humanity.

Bioware isnt a copycat and neither is other game companies. The choice making games like DA, Fable, and other games of the same type are all copied from the good, evil, and neutral option table top RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons. Its really more of a genre itself to have a game let you take on the role of picking what action and outcome you get. Its just giving the gamer a more interactive and realistic approach to games. So all in all, no one can copy Bioware, if anyone thinks that they are wrong in the matter. For the type of games Bioware has is a copy of almost every other game series like it before hand.

the good, evil and neutral choice I agree comes out from well, table rpg, and also from wanting to make things more realistic.
But I think it is hard toreally copy games of the quality of bioware.
It's also a question of budget.
So yeah, you can throw a good evil whatever in any game, but it is to see what really impact the game in the end, not just how it may change how you look. I really love how DA have no "good" "evil" bar but companions approvement. You don,t just think "good or evil" you think "damn, I have to talk about religion, Liliana and morrigan are with me andI feel the dog is laughing at me" (It influences the bonus to fighting and also a relationship with them, so it is pretty fine to me)

I know the "choice" system has been around since the days of text based rpgs but bioware has always brought that since of immersion that you got with table top rpgs into their games. Im just saying bioware has arguably perfected the the dialogue choice gameplay and with their recent success I honestly expected more developers would give it a shot
