Steve wrapped his coat tighter around his body and tried to not start shivering ridiculously at the place he had to be. Not only had his mother signed him up for some sort of random blind date sort of thing, but she'd done so without telling him till she gave him the location and time of the thing! Now the poor boy was barely able to keep warm as he headed to the ice rink.
Boris and Natasha had decided this was not worth being out and social during, and had hidden in the bulky coat, along with Steve's new wings. This was not good tentacle weather! Plus Steve was meeting some girl and he wasn't exactly keen on freaking her out with his tentacles on first meeting if they came out to say hi and tried to warm up by grabbing her. They weren't prone to do that, but he was also not prone to dragging them out in the cold either!

When Mareike had signed herself up for a blind date she had envisioned going to a movie or an indoor them park or well something warm at the very least. Also something that didn't require too much skill lest either one of the participants be horrid at it and thus ruin the experience for the other. The last thing she'd expected was to be sent to go ice skating at an outdoor rink and she wasn't exactly happy about.
The maroon skinned spawn stomped her way towards the ice, rented skates dangling loosely from one hand. Mareike hadn't skated on ice since she was very small and that had ended in a bloodbath and lifelong loathing of someone she'd met there. Hopefully this turned out differently.
All three of the young woman's eyes scanned the area for her 'date', not that there were lot of bodies to look past. Most people had stayed inside during this godforsaken weather.

Steve spotted the girl pretty quickly. Oh s**t, she - well, she sort of reminded him of Ily with the stompy attitude. Not that he blamed her - it was bloody cold out here! But he'd also never seen a chick with three eyes and horns like that. She was probably a hell of a firecracker. On the other hand, from what he could see under the coat, she was really really pretty.
Heading over on a hunch, Steve tried to awkwardly smile, skates over his shoulder. "Hi there. Are you um...my blind date?"

Mareike stared at the freckled boy, he wasn't exactly what she was looking for but he was esthetically pleasing enough for now. she offered a sharp nod and then a fanged smile, "Yes that would be me, I'm Mareike,." maybe it was just because she had a double dose of wrath dna in her now but Mareike was finding today's winter weather ridiculously cold. She refused to shive and show weakness but beneath her coat she was glad for the added insulating warmth of her wings which were also bundled up. It meant she couldn't rely on them for balance but that was acceptable given the circumstances.
" Do you like skating?"

"Uh yeah. Skating's cool I guess." Shy gave her an odd, sideways look with a raised eyebrow. This girl was weirdly feral in some ways. And she kept grinning at him with her fangs. Talk about odd hellos.
"So um...it's ******** cold. Do you usually skate in this kinda weather?"

Marieke snorted and shook her head " I don't normally skate period, haven't since I was young." She did roller skate though, she had fond memories of doing so with Taylor and Ebby. Not one to follow the rules Mareike glanced out at the ice then back at Steve while resisting to urge to shiver, she handled heat so much better than cold. " What do you say we ******** this skating thing and go somewhere else?"

Steve looked over at the skates hanging over his shoulder and down at the lumps in his coat pocket area where Boris and Natasha were hiding. Then he smiled and looked up at the older girl. "I don't believe I've heard a better idea in a long time."
"Where would you want to go? For lunch or cocoa or something? I brought some money in case you wanted to go eat, cause I didn't know if I was gonna have to pay for you or even if I didnt have to, I should still at least pay for me, so yeah. Anyway, uhhhhh yeah. Somewhere that isn't too cold to think in."

Mareike laughed a bit at the boy's babbling or at least to her it was babbling, he was charming in his own way. "Lunch sounds good although I am not familiar with this area or what is nearby," the maroon skinned young woman had no business in this area of the city and thus it was mostly new to her.

"I think there's a place over that way." Steve said with a shrug, pointing vaguely. It was really ******** cold and it made his head muzzy, but he was sure he'd passed it on the way over, and nearly decided to completely screw this endeavor and go for lunch instead.

" I hope so " That said Mareike began to stalk off the way Steve had pointed, long legs taking her as far away from the cold as fast as they possibly could. They could talk again once they were warm and maybe Mareike could actually find out something about her mystery date.

Once they were safely inside, Steve removed his coat to hang on the rack. His wings stretched out a bit as he did and immediately his tentacles poked out to investigate Mareike, their fake eyes shaking a bit as they did.
"Ah, sorry about that. This is Boris and Natasha." he explained, gesturing at the two tentacles in turn.

Mareike stared down at the tentacles, concerned less with their bright colours than the fact that they had fake eyes. She supposed it was their idea, after all every tentacle she had ever known had a mind of it's own. " It's fine as long as they behave, she replied as she reached out a hand to let them shake it of they so desired.
Her third eyes focused on the boy's tiny wings, finding them odd but not unpleasant to look at. Mareike wondered if they'd ever grow or if they might turn out to be ornamental unlike her own metal framed wings which could hold her aloft for short periods of time.

"Behave? Well yeah. Boris is a bit grouchy sometimes and Nat loves to get into things but they're pretty good." Steve said, whirling around so he could actually look at Mareike while he spoke, momentarily twisting the two transfixed appendages.
Once they'd untangled, Boris reached over to nudge Mare's hand up and down, much like shaking it - putting itself on top to push down and then beneath to push up. Natasha seemed more interested in nuzzling into her palm a bit and pulling back. Could a tentacle even nuzzle?
"Yeah uhhhhhh Nat's the nice one."

Mareike smiled, amused by the tentacles antics, they were both fairly charming in their own ways. Briefly the wrath spawn wondered what her own tentacles would have been like if she had had any. She tapped the tip of a sharp nail on Natasha and winked at the appendage. " We females are generally known for being nicer, " she murmured. It wasn't always true and in her case well nice was never a moniker she had earned but Mareike could be pleasant when it suited her.
