This place was so terrible!!
The little toddler had been hit and pushed and shunned by everyone in the room, and ended up tucked back in a corner with a small toy tiara clutched to her chest, green eyes filled with tears. She wanted her Mama and she wanted to go home. Day care was certainly no place for a princess!! What was her Mama doing, anyway? She was going to come back, right?
A soft sob broke from the girl's throat, her tail wrapping around her body and her ears pressing back against her hair. If there was anything that she wanted, really wanted right now, it was her mother. Or maybe someone who would save her. A sweet prince or a loving knight or someone who had rescued her before would certainly be nice. After all, they'd come for her before, why wouldn't they come for her now? That would be just wonderful...

This place wasn't so bad. Logan had immediately got a log with everyone there, despite being a bit shy at the beginning. But once someone came up to him and his twin and wanted to play, it was all OK. But he wasn't used to playing with other kids. Why his daddy stuck him in this place he didn't know.
Crawling to the back of the room, Logan blinked when he saw a pretty girl sitting by herself crying and holding one of those plastic tiaras. He adjusted his course to move toward her. Once he was a comfortable distance away, he sat down and watched her before speaking up.
"...Are you OK? Why're you crying?" He couldn't just hug the girl, could he? That'd be just too weird.

Soft green eyes flicked up from the floor, and the little girl gazed at the rainbow-haired boy for a moment or two, looking him up and down. No, he wasn't a knight. Not at all. At the very least... he wasn't her knight. Certainly he wasn't Xanthe. A soft sigh fell past her lips, and it turned to a whimper as she curled into herself once again, letting small, sad sobs pass her lips. She shook her head in response to what the other was saying, tail flicking behind herself.
"I do not like it 'ere. Mama 'as left me 'ere and my knight is no where to be seen..." Chai cried pitifully, hugging her knees to her chest tightly, hand squeezing the tiara that she held onto. She really just wanted to go back home, or at least get the attention back that she craved to the deepest depths of her soul.

His wings fluttered as she cried again and his heart tightened. Nothing was worse than to watch someone cry because they were scared. So, he did what he did for his twin. He crawled right up to her, forgetting his shyness and tugged her to him, hugging her in the way children hug. His arms around her, hugging her head and petting her hair.
"I'll be your friend. I unno what a knight is, but I can be that, too!" He fluttered his wings some more and turned so she could watch them. "See? My buba likes them, too."

It was definitely the truth to say that Chailai was surprised by the affection from the stranger, but it was attention. Not only that, but it was positive, loving attention, the kind that her mother had snatched away when he left her all alone in this horrible place. Whimpering softly and rubbing her balled up fists in her eyes to try and rub the tears away, she nuzzled into the strange boy sadly, tail nudging him softly before it gently wrapped around one of his wrists. Her ears twitched softly and she looked up at the boy. After Xanthe, so few people looked like real knights, and Xanthe always seemed to be so far away... it just wasn't fair!
"I dun'no... a knight is a person 'o 'is sworn duty is to protect 'is princess and 'er kingdom... I 'ave Xanzhe, but she... b-but she is n-n-not 'ere!" the girl exclaimed, only reminding herself of her situation before she burst into tears once again. When the boy turned, she looked up at him, confusion shining in those pale eyes of her's. "'Buba'? What... wh-what is zhis m-mean?"

"Bubba? Bubba is my broth'r." He watched her and looked to her tail before giving a sad sort of smile. Logan, despite having a twin, knew what it was like when he and his twin were separated. Like today. He was always so depressed wen he and Leander weren't together. It was like missing part of himself. Or, it would if he could understand what that meant.
The little boy only beamed at her, trying to get her to stop. Logan was shy until someone needed help. Then he was all over that. He would help out whoever it was that needed help and then go back to his quiet, shy ways. Without Leander, he had to do things for himself, right?
"....Do you wanna go play with the others?"

Chailai's ears perked up with a bit more interest as the other continued speaking, tufted tail flicking slightly behind her. "Jou can tell zhat 'e likes me wizout 'im 'ere...?" she asked curiously, reaching out to brush her fingertips across whatever she could reach of the other young boy's wings. She had never seen wings such as those, at least not that she could remember, and they were quite entrancing. So colourful in comparison to her motley coat...
When the boy suggested playing with the other kids, her green eyes widened, the cuff of a sleeve being lifted to rub the tears away from her face. She bit nervously at her lower lip, glancing at the other children in the area and the one boy she'd spoken to, rolling her shoulders a bit. "I... I don't know... I am not used to so many people in zhe same place..."

Logan sat still and let Chailai touch his wings. It tickled a little, so he let them flutter a little and laughed. Watching her, he tilted his head and shifted to help her dry up her tears. His hands were clean enough for this. Getting to his feet, he adjusted his pants and shirt and then reached down with both hands and brought her to her feet. He was physically stronger than most, so it didn't take much effort on his part, and he was being very careful with her. Of course Logan didn't want to hurt her!
"So we can go play together by ourselves! We can..." He looked around and bit down on his lip. He just wanted to make her smile, make her feel better. She looked all alone and scared and he knew that feeling. Logan didn't like that feeling. "We can go play with the legos? Do you know how to build things with them?"
