Dogo watched the river at the bottom of the water falls, looking around almost warily. Of course, he had every right to be wary, he stood out pretty loudly in a land without lemurs. The ring-tail carefully dropped out of the trees, edging for the water to get himself a drink. He'd not seen it rain, and yet this was a jungle. A tropical jungle, a rain forest no less, without rain... It was a miracle to the small animal that it still lived.

Looking up from the water, the little lemur looked around. He could smell lions, but who knew where they were hiding. Shrugging just a bit, he climbed up to a low branch - Rather low to the ground even for a jungle tree's branch - and lounged, humming to himself the last thing he'd heard from a human sound device. What did they call that thing again..? Oh, yeah, a radio... Humans, such primitive beasts they were.. The lemur's characteristic black and white banded tail curled lazily as he stared up through the canopy, spying few, if any, fluffy clouds. Yes, he was bored and lonely, but not much he could do about it, was there?

Kizuka walked nervously around the plains. His ears turned every which way as a sound became louder. He was sure it was the waterfall he had seen earlier. Sighing, he wandered over to a tree and plopped down under it's shade. The sun was getting to him. "I really need to learn my way around." He mumbled, as a slight breeze sent a shower of dew from the water into his face. He gave a refreshing sigh. "I have to stop going in circles."

"Well, if you stay in one spot, then you won't go in circles." Dogo didn't look down from his branch. His ears told him that it was a cub, quite clearly. His tail continued to curl, ignoring the bugs that buzzed around him.

"Wha-?" Kizuka gave a start as he heard a voice. He looked frantically around. Where did the voice come from? He looked, left and right, but didn't see anything. "Where are you?" He asked, just as it hit him that he was standing under a tree. Mentally berating himself, Kizuka looked up. He was startled to see another creature lying on a branch, tail wrapped around it. It wasn't the creature itself that startled Kizuka, it was the fact that the creature looked like him. "Okay, nevermind, where are you...I found you. But, WHAT are you?" He eyed the creature, not sure if he should be ready to run or fight. Hopefully he wouldn't have to fight, it wasn't his thing.

The lemur sat up, stretching a bit. "I'm a ring-tailed lemur." He looked down, then fell off the branch. "What are YOU?!" He looked genuinly startled by the cub, standing up on all fours, tail standing almost erect. "You look and smell like a lion, but you're marked like a LEMUR!"

"I AM a lion!" Kizuka growled irritably. "My nose isn't as pointed or as long as yours, and look," He thrust his tail towards the lemur. "Poofy tail." He took his tail away. "Now, don't ask about my markings...I was born with them. I don't control what I look like." He then eyed the lemur carefully. "You are the first of your kind that I have seen. And I've walked in circles enough to see a bit."

Rubbing the bridge of his nose as he'd seen humans do(Now he got why they did it, in a way...), Dogo sighed. "Good point, you CAN'T help how you look..." Shifting and standing on his hind legs, he looked the cub over. "You know, wandering out here alone isn't a good idea, kid. You should find someone to stick around so you're safe. Well, safer..."

Kizuka arched an eyebrow. "And who do you suggest I hang around with?" He asked. "How am I going to be any safer hanging around any one else?" Kizuka stuck his chest out proudly. and looked down at the Lemur. "I'm a lion. How am I not safe?"

The lemur frowned. "For starters... From what I've heard, cubs out in the world alone? If they run into a hyena, they get gutted. Or a leopard gets 'em. Or, if they encounter the wrong adult male, they're killed on the spot." He paused, thinking a moment. "That and you can't hunt for yourself if you're a CUB." Sitting down, his tail curled a bit. "I'd take you under my tail, but lions don't eat fruit." Ears flitting back, the lemur seemed to think a moment, then sighed. "Then again... I know no lions beyond you that WON'T try to eat me, besides the big dark red guy... But he's long gone."

Kizuka frowned right back. "I haven't run into anybody yet." He said, hesitantly. Knowing that inside, the lemur was right. "I can catch small rodents." He then added proudly, ignoring the voice in his head that told him that wasn't going to keep him satisfied. "Is fruit good?" He asked, "How do you know I won't like it?"

"Because lions don't eat fruit, they eat meat." The ring-tail tapped a finger on his chin a bit, thinking a moment. "Well, I DID run into a lion a few days ago. Had a cub about your age with him... Playful thing. But with his talk of wanting to possibly EAT me..." Dogo laughed nervously. "I don't think I'll be paying HIM a visit any time soon."

"I know I wouldn't want to run into anyone who would want to eat me." Kizuka replied. "That wouldn't be a fun experiance. As for the fruit, I'm one for the saying 'don't knock it until you try'." He gave a small nod. "I mean, it can't be that bad if you eat it right?" Smiling, he glanced down at the lemur. "By the way! My name is Kizuka." It was amazing they had gone this long without an actual introduction.

"How very true... Run into someone, then find yourself in their stoumach. Not fun, I imagine." Dogo scratched at his chest-fur a bit, pondering to himself. "You make a good point. Well, we'll find you some fruit to try, then." The lemur stretced a bit. "Nice to meet you, Kizuka, the name's Dogo."

"Pleased to meet you, Dogo." Kizuka smiled. At that moment, his stomach decided to make itself known to him. An embarrassed blush appeared on his face. He scratched the back of his head with a paw. "Hehehe, about that fruit?" He asked, looking about. "You lead the way, as you saw, I'm just lost in this place."

((Sooooo belated of a reply gonk ))

The lemur nodded. "Alright, then. Come on!" With that, he start to... Walk? Lope...? It was hard to describe how he moved, but it was in a way only a species of lemur and mayb a few species of kangaroo and wallaby could when on all fours.
