From the log of StrawberryRoseTea . . .
There are sights in the world that we enjoy. Bask in even. Then there are the sights that grab us by the heart that we hold and cherish forever. My first glimpse of Decadent was one of such sights. She made my breath catch and my heart pound. I was irrevocably in love with her before I knew it. I didn't have a chance. I claimed her the moment I saw her. Now let me tell you of the rest . . .
I had been having a pretty bad day. Things just kept happening one after the other. One of those days, you know? Happens to the best of us. After spending most of the day trying to dodge disaster and failing I decided I needed to take some time to relax. What could be more relaxing than watching the most beautiful, graceful creatures on earth? So I made my way to the Watchers office. Lucky for me, it was one of those rare times when no one else was there and I didn't have to make a fool of myself by trying to interact with other people while in a bad mood.
So I gathered my journals and settled myself in for some Unisus watching. I took advantage of one of the telescopes and began scanning the distant countryside for familiar forms. That was when a dash of color and movement caught my eye. I focused in on it wondering what the fuss was about. When she came into focus, that was it. I knew she was mine. What I saw was a little black filly with bright pink and orange tips and feet that flashed silver with the sun dashing back and forth between a cave and a field of flowers. She appeared to be filling the cave with as many different types and colors of flowers as she could. The only time she ever slowed was when a shimmery rock caught her attention and she stopped to pick it up and secret it away in her cave too.
I don't know how long I watched her stock what I later learned was her home. Though I did notice on closer inspection two tiny little bat-like wings folded tightly to her back. Eventually she tired herself out and trotted back to the field of flowers where she sprawled herself out and fell asleep amongst the rainbow of flora. As I watched her sleep I kept waiting for some older Unisus to show up and usher her back to the safety of a herd but none showed. It appeared my little girl was a solitary.
When it seemed like she wasn't going anywhere for a while I pulled myself back to the office and got up to look through the journals to see if I could find any prior mention of a sweet little filly. I was relieved to find none and pulled a new journal off the shelf. I went back to the telescope and peaked on her again. When all I saw was the flick of a tail I again tore my attention back to the office to begin filling out a journal on my precious little discovery. Decadent. I wrote the name on the page without knowing why. How odd. It seemed to fit her though.
